Prince Luchien

For as far back as he could remember Luchien had always tried to be a good person, in every aspect of his life.

He did his best to be a good son to his parents, King Avalon and Queen Fyora, not to mention being a devoted and respectful Prince to his people. He worked hard every day of his life, learning languages, listening, studying and practicing music, as well as all manners of the royal court.

Yes things were always so busy for the young man and yet he never complained, well not very often mind you.

Luchien kept his days going with a positive attitude and an eagerness to be there for anyone if they needed him.That's why when he learned of his peoples' suffering in parts of the kingdom it had concerned him greatly.

Nothing was perfect, he knew that from an early age but that never stopped him from trying to do the right thing.

On a weekly basis he would send messengers out into the streets to find out all they could about his people so that he had some knowledge of what was going on and that he could form a plan to aid them.

Every new message that returned always left him feeling ill and upset. So many people were starving or barely making ends meet, he had to do something.

Luchien had spoken to his father many times about the plight of the kingdom, his father listened but sometimes the Prince wondered if he even cared?

Sure his father would toss scraps of food to people every now and then or a copper coin here and there but it was hardly enough. Looks like it was up to the Prince to do something all on his own.

Well perhaps that wasn't entirely true, he always had help from a local farmer's daughter, who just so happened to be his best friend. Lina was smart, funny, wise beyond her years, if anyone knew how the commoner's mind worked it was Lina.

Together they worked on ways to improve the impoverished areas of the kingdom, getting food and supplies to areas that were suffering, bringing in barrels of water to farms that were having a less than stellar rainy season, handing out coins to beggars who had only the rags on their backs.

Luchien had saved his own personal gold that he got from both his parents, keeping a coin for himself and putting the rest to good use.

Sure it wasn't much at the moment but he would continue to do all he could to help those in need as time went by. Days turned to months and little by little he started to see improvements!

Farms did better, the marketplace and trace commerce got better, even the health of some of the less fortunate seemed to improve.

It brought a smile to the prince's face and a happiness that filled his heart.He made a pact with Lina that they would continue to aid those in need for as long as they physically were able.

This was a great way to boost morale among the people and to prove to them that Luchien would be a great king, when the time came for his father to pass down the crown to him of course.

He wasn't too worried about that right now, he just wanted to be there for his people and Lina, doing the right thing for them all.

He'd keep up with his studies, his music lessons, the matters of the court, everything that a prince should do. Perhaps his next big task would be to bring more music to the kingdom? There was still so much left to be done!
