The dragon woke from his slumber by a loud banging. It first appeared in his dreams and had now caused little rocks from the ceiling to come down, causing him to awake from his deep slumber
He stretched and looked around the cave with an ill-tempered mood. The ceiling immediately caught his eye. The continuous banging was still causing little rocks to fall from the ceiling, and one stalactite seemed to have a crack through its base. “well that’s unusual” he thought to himself. But what was causing it? He scanned the cave for anything out of the ordinary. He looked at his beloved treasure. The rubies and the diamonds, piles upon piles of jewelry, gold stacked to the ceiling and many pieces of silver. They were all there, shining like the stars that filled the night skies. Nothing out of the ordinary there…but wait!

At the back of the cave was a large pile of gold. Several of the small gold pieces had come down and where scattered on the floor. This could only mean one thing, an intruder in his cave! He let out a loud, angry roar and hastily moved toward the pile of gold. Small plumes of smoke began to appear out of his nose and mouth. But when he looked behind the enormous pile of gold he found something unexpected. Tucked away in the corner wasn’t a fearsome warrior or a cunning thief, but a young girl. She wore an expensive but slightly torn light blue dress, her hair was like the finest spun gold and on her cheeks was a blush like the first blossoms in spring. When the dragon laid his eyes on her his anger melted away like snow in the sun. Instead came a strange new feeling, his heart began to beat faster than it ever did before and he felt a strange knot in his stomach. The young girl looked up at him and let out a small shriek when she saw the fearsome beast before her and the dragon was snapped out his state of enchantment.

In his politest and most charming voice the dragon asked “Well, my lady this is quite the surprise, but may I ask what business you have here?” The confused girl looked at him for a few seconds and then her face filled with anger. She yelled at him “What do you mean you stupid beast, you’re the one who brought me here!” The dragon shrank back by the unexpected scolding. And then he began to remember.

The other day he visited the wizards from the green mountains. They invited him in for a game of chess where the winner would receive a chest filled with wonderful gems. Unable to resist this reward he joined them. During the game they fed him numerous sweets and bottles of wine. Eventually the dragon grew tired of the game, wizards are known to cheat in chess games, and left the mountains. But in his drunken state he took a long route and came across a castle. And in the court yard he saw her. Awestruck by her beauty, he grabbed her and brought her back to his cave in the black mountains.

‘Well what are you staring at!’ the girl yelled. The dragon snapped out his thoughts and looked down at the angry girl. “She’s a true beauty, until she opens her mouth” he thought. He smiled and said in a slightly mocking voice “ Well my girl, my name is Kunda, mighty dragon from the black mountains and it seems that you will be my guest from now on.” The girl sprung up and yelled “your guest?! You delusional dumb mongrel, don’t you hear that?” She pointed at the wall with a dramatic gesture. Kunda wasn’t impressed by her dramatic act and looked at her with an uninterested glance. “That banging sound!” she began to walk around the cave making more dramatic gestures walked “That’s my fiancé and the king’s army coming to save me!” Kunda began to laugh “ That sound, my dear, is the sound of a few dozen men getting lost in the mountain. Only I know where the true entrance to this cave is. Your mighty army and your precious fiancé will be lost in the massive labyrinth of tunnels and starve to death in the dark mountain halls. ”As he spoke he walked away to continue his nap on a pile an expensive silk. “Hey, don’t you walk away from me, I wasn’t done with you!” yelled the young beauty as she ran after him. Annoyed she sat down beside him, and continued her complaining. Meanwhile Kunda, being unable to sleep thanks to her, politely listened to her while he enjoyed this strange new feeling that caused his heart to beat so fast and made butterfly’s appear in his stomach ♥️
