The sand seems to stretch on forever around you, broken only by the reddish mountains that reach up out of the East, and the flawless blue of the sky itself. It's hard to recall how long you've been wandering in the desert, much less why. Yet just when it seems your legs can't carry you any further, you see it over the next dune - a sprawling oasis, cradling a crystal clear pool of water.

Gratefully you stumble forward, hardly able to believe what you see - but it's not a mirage. You have just entered the Blessed Oasis.

The air is scented with something sweet and spicy, like fruit or flowers... or perhaps incense? Whatever it is, it certainly smells exotic.As you wade deeper into the green shadows, you find yourself surrounded by fragrant plants and flowers. Birds of all types flit from branch to branch, and the air is thick with the humming of insects and the singing of these feathered creatures.

For as long as anyone can remember, travelers have told tales of a mystical oasis, a place of rest and peace and spirituality. It is said that the Blessed Oasis is actually in another plane of being all together, and only appears in this world when the guardian of the oasis senses someone in need. It isn't marked on any map - in fact, it is said it never appears in the same place twice. No one can agree quite on every detail about the place, but the one thing they do all remember is the kind but silent guardian of the oasis. Few who have been there know muhch at all about the Oasis or it's Guardian, a mysterious woman called Koelle. And yet, they all thank her for allowing them to stay in her domain for a short time to regain their strength and vitality.

You can still hardly believe you've actually found the place. You always thought it was just a legend, but this place must be blessed. Already you feel rejuvenated by the cool sweet air, and up ahead you can hear flowing water.

Parting the foliage, you see a small waterfall feeding into the pool you spied earlier. Crouched next to it is a glade Jollin - she darts to her feet as soon as she notices you, an unreadable expression in her garnet eyes. You feel as if you are frozen to the spot - after a moment, an expression of kindess overtakes her features, and she smiles gently at you. "You may stay as long as you need, wanderer. I simply ask that you not disturb me, or the spirits...." with that cryptic statement, she turns and vanishes into the underbrush.

Named for the Koel birds that share her home, Koelle is a free spirit. She treasures her kinship with her feathered friends, but rarely speaks to others.However, if given a chance, one soon finds that her personality shines through. She's a very generous and kindhearted creature - her natural talents lie in magical and mundane healing, and she's quite adept with herbalism and music.
She does, however, have a fierce side - she is a guardian of this magical place. Should her home or it's inhabitants be threatened, she will strike quickly and without warning to defend this single place of peace and refuge in the great sea of burning sand.
