Well, it all started when I heard a strange sound-you know, a weird hacking-cough sound. The others were focused on not startling a witch. I went the opposite way, following the sounds. I turned the corner, and I find a horrible, infected monster, the one that they called The Smoker.

And just my luck that I had frozen, with my gun pointing to him. He got me with that tongue, and pulled me closer-I stuggled, then felt pain in my ribs. Fuck. He had broke a few of my ribs, bastard, and then scratched me across the chest. I struggled, getting my hand free. I shot off his tongue, and he dropped me. I managed to escape, to a nearby safe room. I survived this long, so I was thinking I was immune.

How wrong I was.

It's been about an hour since I was clawed by the smoker, and I feel really sick. I haven't thrown up or anything, but my head is in agony and my eyes feel real achy and dry. I'm starving, even though I just ate. I cough up some blood just then as well. I feel cold, so cold, and I'm shaking so much. I tried the headache pills-they don't work. My ears are ringing and my eyes...my eyes have started bleeding! I look into a mirror-I wish I hadn't-I look terrible! My eyes are all red and bleeding and my skin has gone grey. Fucking grey! I curl up, crying, screaming and wishing for the pain to stop. It feels like my head is about to explode. I growl and start clawing at my eyes-they feel like they're melting!

My eyes have melted, I'm sure of it-I can't feel them, and I can't see anything! I can't see anything anymore, but it seems I can hear and smell better. I growl and claw at the ground, then scream as the virus makes the final changes to my body. I don't feel any pain anymore, and I'm blind..I don't like it, it's horrible. I hear footsteps-no-one's in here, it must be from outside. I can hear a smoker out there as well. But I don't care about that anymore-I growl and get up off the floor, ready to start spreading the infection.

I hear someone enter this room and I hide behind a table, growling quietly. As she comes closer-she has to get some medicine- I pounce and scream, pinning her to the floor. I can sense something strange about her-she was an Immune. I must kill her. I clawed at her, ripping and tearing in a blind rage. I could smell her blood-it smelt like metal and it tasted pretty good. I claw at her until her struggling stops, then I chew on the red thing-her heart, perhaps? I don't know-It's all the same to me. I always feel starving. Once I take my fill, I crawl out of the room and just leave it lying there, dead in the room she thought she'd be safe. I climb up a building, and get ready to start my new life, my life as an infected.
