Kassim had been the younger of twin Irion hatch-lings, and when his older sister Karreen died he began hearing her voice inside his head. As he grew up, her voice became more insane and drove him to madness as well, and resulted in him obtaining a second personality. This second being of himself was just as crazy as his sister. In one of the instances where the crazy half took over, Kassim killed himself slowly, painfully, and as he would have said, "quite pleasurably." Now he's confined to the cemetery where his sister's body was buried, where she aches for the blood of those more fortunate than herself.
