XIX. THE SUN

Luca is 21 years old, but with his feminine face, he looks even younger than his years. He has blonde hair and big, green eyes without a fleck of hazel. Those striking eyes are set above high cheek bones and an angular jaw, all adding to his model-like appearance, enhanced even further by his willowy stature.

His graceful looks are not complimented by his personality, though. He is clumsy, nervous and he blushes much too easily.

Interestingly, he majored in Human Biology -- he's not just a pretty face, after all! He recently picked up a job in a quiet pharmacy in the sleepy Oregon town he grew up in.

An Aries, Luca is the sun to Jordan's moon - let me make it clear that vampires very strongly believe in 'soul mates', but it is extremely rare for such a vampires soul mate to be human.

Together, their story is a fractured one, and their love is not simple -- but their destinies are inescapably entwined as one.

He didn't mean for any of it to happen, of course.

The first time Luca saw Jordan was a shock. He'd never seen a man stare at him so intensely before. Sure, he was used to people of all genders looking at him, but like this? Not at all. It was as though the stranger was stripping him of his clothes, his skin, his bones, digging up the raw soul.

Luca had stumbled into the bar with some friends, damp and giddy from the light rain outside and from the brandy from the previous bar, too. He locked eyes with the stranger sitting at the bar, who continued to stare with an almost inhuman hardness that Luca couldn't figure out.

His friends had started giggling and whispering. They'd pushed him lightly and jostled him toward the man at the bar, urging him onwards. Words of encouragement eagerly whispered in Luca's ear. With a little help from his friends (and maybe the brandy from earlier), he decided to introduced himself - besides, the little town in Oregon certainly hadn't seen the likes of this man before, and everyone knew everyone here.

Back then, he had no idea of the turbulent relationship that lay ahead. So he just walked over, blushing and smiling, and said cheekily 'Hey, I'm Luca. Luca Russo.'
