#8001 is the tentative name given to a very rare dragon-like creature. In fact, so few have been found that this species has yet to be given an official name. What we do know about this species is that they are solitary, intelligent creatures. They roam the vacant deserts of Saherimos seeking out any prey that can be found in the mostly lifeless region. #8001s are known to make their dens in old tombs and ruins on the outskirts of the Sacred Lands. Like other dragon types, they appear to be fascinated with jewels, gems, and shiny, exquisite items. They are known to accumulate large hoards.

Male #8001s appear to be slightly larger and stockier than females, and are believed to weigh around 800lbs. Females tend to weigh between 600-700lbs. They are about 6-8ft long, with a well-muscled build. They are mostly scaleless, but have small clusters of hard scales around their faces and on their shoulders. One of the most notable features of the 8001 are the vibrant blue feathering around their faces. Researchers believe that these feathers not only help cool themselves, but also serve aesthetic purposes. Perhaps those dragons with the longest, most vibrant feathering are considered to be the most dominant.

Captive 8001s make for challenging pets. Much like a feline, 8001s are solitary, independent creatures. If you are lucky enough to form a bond with one, they can be very loyal, but generally are only loyal to that one person. Even then, 8001s come and go as they please. In some rare circumstances, 8001s can be trained to hunt if trained with jewels. They will only return a kill if they know they will be repaid with something exquisite. If you are one of the lucky few to find yourself with an 8001, you could have a friend for life.
