Long before Dr. Evanstrom created the "busy-bee" line, or even dreamt of the Autonomous Machine, and definitely prior to creating a duplicate self, he worked on his very first "helper-bot" prototype.

Taking on this extensive project, and figuring out how to build a "thinking" machine, improved his skills that would later be useful in forming much more complex mechanics.

Since this was one of the good doctor's first prototypes, he didn't have much experience in "naming" them, thus he simply called his new creation-in-progress, Valve. The name, which he got from the very basic steam-and-valve system that the robot was powered by, became second nature and the robot's simple construction as well as economy saving devices led to his future interest in creating a line of "eco-smart" robots.

Shortly after beginning the process of creating Valve, the project had consumed most of the good doctor's waking life for the next six months.

Finally, Valve had reached a point at which its construction was complete and perfected. Now, Dr. Evanstrom started teaching his new creation how to use all of its compact tools that were self contained.

It didn't take long for Valve to catch on and learn the many functions it could perform.
As time went on, Valve became the Doctor's right-hand-robot, so to say. Valve even helped him work on Dr. E.

Soon after this miraculous machine's completion, a spark was lit inside of Dr. Krystof Evanstrom and a wildfire engulfed his soul. Out of the blazes of his imagination, the company Eco-Smart Robots endeavor had begun. Unfortunately, the good doctor's dreams would never come to pass; he died a mysterious death just two years into his great mission to bring an end to pollution, contamination, and waste with his eco-friendly robots.

Although his fragile life is over, the good doctor left us with eternal reminders that he existed, that his great works will live on, and that there is a brighter tomorrow.

So what happened to our handy friend, Valve, you ask?

Valve was always placed in a very hidden and sealed capsule inside of the ESR laboratory.
During the demolition of the ESR building, the wall that concealed his existence was torn down and his capsule busted open. Immediately alert to everything around, Valve sprang out and evaluated the situation and dangers that were apparent, all of this happened within seven seconds of course. Then it was able to calculate the most direct route of escape and left the rubble of what used to be ESR.

Valve now resides in an underground home in the middle of the desert where no one would be able to detect it. The underground chamber was fully constructed by him with functioning ventilation and even electricity.

Due to its learned programming, Valve is constantly working on new inventions. It is as if the dreams of the doctor himself were welded into Valve's being.

Valve & Morse

While Valve was out on one of his excursions to find scrap pieces of metal and other forgotten treasures that he might be able to transform, he stumbled upon a curious scene.

In the middle of the desert he found the limp body of a helpless creature. It appeared to also have been missing an eye. Suddenly the animal became animated and started tapping the ground with it's paw.

Valve's initial reaction to this whole situation is to let nature be, because he wasn't a part of it. Survival of the fittest, right? But what was this being doing out in the middle of a desert, when it clearly isn't it's natural habitat....and what happened to it's eye... and is.. is it really? Is it really tapping out a message in Morse Code? If Valve was translating it correctly (which he most accurately was since he is programmed for such communication) then this creature is saying "help me".

Completely puzzled and without any explanation to give according to logic, Valve decided to bring the animal back to his underground compound. As soon as it finished tapping out the "e" in "me", it passed out which could have been caused by either heat exhaustion or dehydration.

Back at the lair, Valve started trying to revitalize this strange thing that must have a story of it's own. A few days passed and what Valve now knows to be a fox, was mostly recovered from it's desolate state. It again started communication by Morse Code and thanked Valve for rescuing it. Then the fox began explaining the most unusual series of events that led him to where he is now.

The fox claims to have been part of a mission that he cannot speak much more about other than that, and he was scooped up by an enemy falcon whom he fought valiantly against in a mid-air tussle. He ended the fight by biting the bird's claw and in reaction the bird pecked out his eye and released him from it's grasp. He estimates that he had been in the desert for three days writhing in pain and helpless, until Valve came along.

In complete disbelief of the whole story, Valve was left without words. He decided to invite the fox to stay with him and it happily agrees to do so. Valve then suggests to name the fox "Morse", since it's quite an astonishing thing to find a fox with such abilities and it was their first form of communication. "Morse" was more than delighted to be re-named, since he was previously called 'QUA' which stood for Quadrupedal Undercover Agent.

The second suggestion from Valve was to "fix" Morse's missing eye. He had never worked on a living creature before, but he was quite confident he could construct a fully functional robotic eye that might even be better than the one he had!
