Cash Shop: Possessed Cookie Spatula
Elsie collapses to the ground as whatever force had a hold of her releases its grip. Elsie looks from the rolling pin in her hands to you with horror in her eyes. She quickly tosses the weapon away and hugs her knees to her chest.

You aren’t sure what to do at this point except offer some comfort. At the very least, she doesn’t seem to be injured. At least, not anymore than normal for an Unliving.

Remembering something, Elsie leaps up and takes you by the hand, leading you to the entrance of her bakery. She starts grimacing and motioning urgently towards it. At that moment, a loud clanging rings out from somewhere in the thick oven smoke and a Possessed Cookie Spatula lands at your feet.

Volunteers Needed for New Hair Layer!

We are looking for volunteers to help tackle one of our most-requested projects: making a hair layer for the wardrobe! That's right: at long last, hair will be getting its own layer, and we're inviting the community to help make it happen!

The new hair layer has already been set up and added to the site, and the custom wearable submission page has already been updated to put all newly-submitted wigs in the right layer. As a volunteer, you will be helping us sort items from the Head layer into the Hair layer. We will provide a special tool that makes it as fast and easy as possible. While volunteers will do this individually, we will have everyone in a private channel in the Subeta Discord Server to collaborate. (Interested in the Subeta Discord? Find it here!)

The requirements for this position are:
- You must be able to work in a group setting with 15-20 other volunteers and Subeta staff members Bug and Jessi
- You must have (or be willing to use) Discord and be a member of the official Subeta Discord server so we can invite you into a private work channel

This is a volunteer-only position, so you will not be compensated. (However, little thank-you gifts might find their way to your account every now and then... ;) )

If you are interested, please fill out this short application! The application form will be open until Sunday, March 7th. You will then be contacted by Staff within the week if you are chosen for this project. Thank you for your interest and continued support of Subeta!

Survival Update!
We've found some of the bugs plaguing our survival code and resolved them, finally! Any infection you have from this point forward should correctly unlock in your wardrobe when it hits the final stage. Also, any lag in the forums or wardrobe should be fully resolved.

If you've made it to the final stage of an infection already and don't have it, worry not! On the final day of Survival we will allow every user to select one infection from this year that they did not unlock, and unlock it for free. This prevents us from manually replacing the skins, and should hopefully just be a faster process overall, considering the sheer number of people.

As a thank you, we're sending out 250 cash shop credits to everyone who has participated so far in Survival. We'll also be extending Survival by one full day. Thank you 💖!

Oh, hi there! I’m glad I caught you. Joyce told me all about the situation with her father last month and how you were able to snap him out of his... weird fugue. Well, I think whatever happened to him may be affecting Elsie. She hasn’t wanted to see me - or anyone, really - for a while now. Her shop was all closed up, but there’s terrible heat and smells coming from it, like she’s baking up a storm.

Maybe I’m overreacting, maybe she just needs some space. It IS a busy time of the year, what with Survival and everything. Would you mind heading over to her shop in the Underground to check on her?

Another Survival Update

Hello! It is I, your humble staff member here to update you on Survival 2021.

I know in my last news post, I let y’all know that quite a few of us on staff were dealing with weather issues that made getting the holiday done hard. We’re still sort of in that position, unfortunately. While I’m not personally under a lot of snow anymore, my internet connection is either the pace of a snail or just trying its very best to connect. Which really makes it hard to add the really cool items we have in store for Louis and Skitters!

So instead of risking losing one of those items or spending half the day adding things, I’m here to express my regret that we’re going to have to push Survival back a bit more. Before you get too upset, hear me out!

Some things to look forward to:
  • Survival will still be the same length it has been in previous years, roughly 15 days.

  • We’ve decreased the time between stages for a skin by hours! You’ll surely get more skins for your collection this year… also that sounds very gross.

  • This year’s skins have fewer stages than previous years, so hey! You’ll get them even quicker!!!

  • We’re going to try very hard not to use the word ‘virus’ or ‘infection’ when the holiday starts, because of the actual real-life pandemic. Gunner has to do some rebranding but it’s fine!


I’m really sorry that this holiday has been pushed back so much when I know so many of y’all enjoy it.

Some Updates!

First, enjoy this old free gift full of delicious recipes!

I know I promised everyone we’d have the Free Shop before Survival, but some circumstances have ruined that plan. I still have every intention of having the Free Shop happen, but it might be after Survival.

Speaking of Survival, we are strongly hoping to get it out this week. Some of us on staff, however, are currently under snow/ice in cities that are… not used to it. I personally have had fun watching my power flicker all weekend and having my router reconnect a billion times. That’s part of the reason why the Subscription item hasn’t changed for this month yet. I’m aiming to get the item changed over tomorrow, assuming my power and internet don’t let me down!

Programmer Announcement: Hosting Provider Service Issues

Hi everyone! Our hosting provider for new.subeta.net is having some issues today, which is causing intermittent downtime. This ONLY affects the pages on new.subeta.net; the other pages on Subeta are as of yet unaffected.

Since it is a problem with our hosting provider, we must wait for them to fix the issue. If you would like to follow their progress, they have a status page here (offsite link). Let's hope they are able to resolve it soon :)

Monthly Subscriptions and Gold Account Update

We've just simplified how monthly subscriptions work with Gold Accounts! From now on, subscriptions will no longer add 1 month of GA time to your account. Instead, your account will automatically be considered a Gold Account, and get all the perks, as long as you have an active subscription - and any existing GA time on your account will not be used up while your subscription is active. (Note: Canceled subscriptions remain active until the end of the billing cycle; they just won't renew.)

For example, let's say you have a Gold Account which expires in 3 weeks, and no subscription. If you start a monthly subscription, you will get to enjoy having a Gold Account for the entire time your subscription is active, and the GA time left on your account will remain paused at 3 weeks. Then, if you stop having a subscription, it will automatically switch back to using up those 3 weeks of Gold Account you had left before you started the subscription.

This update will take effect immediately for all new subscription sign-ups. If you have an existing active subscription, this change will take effect on your next billing cycle, since you have already received the 1-month GA time as a prize for the current cycle. If there are further questions or concerns, please feel free to ask in the comments, and we'll do our best to assist! An FAQ for the subscriptions page is in the works :)
