Yes, another challenger has appeared, and I have yet been unable to stop them. I have been calling these silvery ontra-like creatures Karka; like the ontra, they are curious and playful, but unlike the ontra, they are large and don't seem to know when they're causing great damage! Be careful of this one, it has some sharp and pinching tricks in its pouch.

If you are able to battle, direct the Karka to you using this Carved Hematite Ontra Figurine from the Cash Shop and know I remain very, very grateful.

Get ready to revolutionize your Masquerade experience! I'm excited to announce our brand new Dance Groups system - a new way to dance, chat in the forums, and collect those sweet sweet dances with your fellow Subetans!

🤖 How It Works

Join a dance group and let the 🤖 Auto Dancing Machine do the work! Every 5 minutes, the robot automatically pairs up two participants who haven't danced yet, ensuring everyone gets equal opportunities for tokens - even when you're offline 🫨!

Dance Groups are regular forum threads at their core, but with a special live chat component that refreshes automatically (like the shoutbox). It's still just forum posts under the hood - but with real-time events to keep the conversation going.

These dances are on a separate timer from the legacy site so you're only increasing the tokens you're bringing in 😉

• Participate in up to 3 dance groups (5 for Gold members!)


• Groups need at least 10 people to keep things exciting

🎯 The Goal

This system is designed to help everyone participate in Masquerade events, especially those who can only pop online for a few minutes at a time. You can still collect tokens and stay connected with your group even with a busy schedule, which I know is where most of us are these days.

We're also hoping that seeing those familiar avatars in your dance groups reminds you to say hi to friends and feel a little like you're hanging out together. The social connections are what make these events special! Leave that profile comment, say hi to your online friends!

✨ Special NPC Guests

Dancing NPCs may join your groups and bring magical powers:

• ⚡ Speed Boost: Reduces machine intervals from 5 to 4 minutes


• 👥 Group Dance: Enables threesome dancing with 3 participants


• 🍀 Lucky Charm: Reduces breakdown chances and improves repairs

NPCs will activate their powers when paired, and they might even leave to join other groups - so you'll need to experience different groups to see all the abilities!

🔧 Machine Maintenance

Sometimes the Auto Dancing Machine breaks down and needs fixing! When this happens, group members work together to repair it. Don't worry - it's just a simple button click, but it keeps groups active. The bigger the group, the more people will be needed to fix the 🤖.

Speaking of seeing friends - we've made some exciting improvements to user popovers based on your feedback! You can now:

• Choose between hover or click activation at your popover settings


• Customize your popover background color on the same page - this is how other users will see your popover!

Let's hope you've prepared well, because it's officially time for the Annual Masquerade Ball! The dance floor is open to all those with masks until 11:59pm on July 1. The Masquerade Forums will close on July 6!

You can use the following sCode in your status and other places to have various people share a dance with you.

Want to shake things up and dance with someone completely random? Try your hand at the Mystery Dance feature. You have the chance to get more than trinkets from these dances!

The most important thing (other than wearing comfortable shoes) is to wear a mask. After all, this is a Masquerade! You won't be able to request or accept dances without a mask. Any item with the word 'mask' counts towards this, with no rarity requirements. In need of a mask? Stop by Migrating Masks to restock a few fashionable masks from previous years or try to grab a newly released mask!

After you accept a dance, you will receive either Steamworks Trinkets or Lounge Trinkets as a parting gift. The Lounge Trinkets can be used at the Libertine Lounge where you can take a break and enjoy delicious food and drinks. The Steamworks Trinkets will allow you to purchase a wide range of goods from the Steamworks Menagerie.

This is the only wave of items for BOTH shops. Enjoy!

If you see broken images for the robot sets, don't worry. We are aware! Just waiting on the other gender overlays to be added.

Keep an eye out for the dastardly Boudewijn while dancing. If you manage to win a duel with him, he'll be forced to give you a bag of trinkets. Don't worry; he won't kill you in a duel or anything. Maybe slightly maim. Nothing a good drink can't fix.

You need to visit the dance floor after accepting a dance to find Boudewijn.

Last but not least, there are two avatar borders you have a chance of getting while dancing. The Steamwork Masquerade avatar border comes from using the Mystery Dance feature, while the Dancing Rave Style comes from dancing with anyone you choose. These are not guaranteed, so you may have to dance a lot to get one.

Challengers will be added later during the holiday!

Friday the 13th got to me! I maaaaay have accidentally deleted a good chunk of items for the Masquerade (and didn't have backups). The artist won't be able to reupload until this evening.

So the Masquerade will start tomorrow morning. I'll be adding all the items tonight, and I'll close the shops before I do. For those that like to be spoiled, if you see the shops close, you can always check the item directory. :eyes:

Always have backups, kids. Also, never plan anything on such a cursed day.

A new Reward Card is available to fill out! Remember that for each stamp you will earn Loyalty Points (LP) in ascending value to spend in the Loyalty Shop - stamp 1 is 1 point, stamp 2 is 2 points and so forth. Completing a card awards you 5 bonus LP, bringing the total for completing a card to 60LP.

You can fill out this card twice! You will get the same amount of points for each card, so in total, you have a chance of getting 120LP. You can spend these points in the Loyalty Shop.

If you’re unsure if you’re on your first or second card, check out your current level. Levels 0-10 are for the first card, 11-20 are for the second card.
