Featured Game: Net Gain!
The activities continue today with our first featured game to come from Riverside! If The Bug Game was offensive to your moral sensibilities, today's featured game Net Gain should prove to be much more peaceful (not to mention more relaxing)!
Charity doesn't have a whole lot of free time, but when she's not volunteering she enjoys a leisurely walk and some bug catching. (The bugs, of course, are released!) If you can beat her score of 50 there are up to 10 bonus EPICon points in it for you, but if not, you can still get points for doing your best! Don't forget that you can still earn up to 70 regular points per day by playing any combination of our EPICon games!
Additionally, don't forget to keep voting for your favorites in the Cosplay Contest! Your fellow cosplayers are depending on your votes to win!

I let my 8 year old sister play this game and even she thought it was boring.

I had 49 points and 9 misses. And of course I missed the last bug because it flew PAST the net. BUT THEN. BUT THEN. THEN I HIT SPACE AND IT SENT MY SCORE. AND THEN ANOTHER BUG FLEW IN MY NET AND THE FINAL SCORE CHANGED FROM 49 TO 50. AND I CANNOT SEND IT AGAIN.

The best part about this game is how much fun my cat has watching me try to play it. But her tips don't work for me since I don't have paws.
I stopped playing this because most of the time the net just isn't working at all. even if it's completely centered they just go past it. Ah well, so it goes :3 Hopefully it gets fixed for the future
Man, I might have the achievement before the end of the day if I keep up with the scores I'm getting. :D
The defective net actually amuses me. xD I don't know why. Too many games has finally gone and messed up my head.
Yup, glad I'm not the only one who hates this game! Not even funny how many times I get the net centered on a bug for it just to fly off...AND the game is ridiculously slow. Definitely passing on today's extra points.
I am having the same issue with the net gain game where, even if I have the net still and centered (as in, the bug goes through the middle), the bugs will just pass by as if my net is not even there. I figured that, for the most point, they seem to work best with the upper third of the net, but, even then, half the time, the bugs still fly past. It's not that I am missing them, it is as if my net position is not registering with the game. Very frustrating :(
I really debated about posting this because for a really long time I thought it was just me. But are you guys sure that the beanbags are even dropping at all? I thought it was just me being unlucky but EVERYONE PLAYING ALL DAY and not one added to the shops yet? I don't think that's normal.
The freaking bugs won't go in the net even if I perfectly center them. Broken game is pissing me off
I'm sort of starting to wonder if the game is bad or if it is just not reacting well on certain browsers/pcs? Mine behaved horridly, and the bugs wouldn't go in the net half the time even when I seemed to be perfectly lined up. But others not having any trouble? I am super curious now if maybe chrome is to blame for my lousy performance. :)

THe sp payout of this game is ridiculously imbalanced compared to the other games that have been featured. Over 50 bugs and less than 1k? Seriously? With all the frustration of bugs flying through the net, and the ridiculous payout I wouldn't even bother once the bonus points go away.

I hate this game is sooo boring is killing me! It is not only boring but annoying bc even if the net is in front the bug just flies away. GRRR Now I know which game I won't play anymore after today. I'm still hoping for the Memory game. -_-

This is the first game I'm going to leave out entirely, it takes ages, it makes no sense, it annoys me and I really don't need that. It's really too bad that the issues weren't fixed, thought it was known from the plot last summer that bugs just fly past the net? Oh well...
has anyone else noticed that the bugs "miss" the net even if its centered in on them? pissing me off. :( argh
I just noticed how the clouds moving left and the bugs moving right makes me a little dizzy, it would be great if you could do something about the background.
thankfully I finished the cumulative achievement today so I can drop this tomorrow. :s On the semi-positive side, I think this game could become more enjoyable if the moving speed of the net was increased, the size of the bugs was reduced, and if they gradually sped up.

I think there's something seriously wrong with the net. Some bugs go straight through it. How do you expect me to catch 50 bugs if they don't enter the net? >:/
So it took me a couple of hours and a little help from my sister, but I actually managed to get all of the bonus points! Finally! :')

The net needs serious fixing. I've had several bugs well centred, and go STRAIGHT over it! Relaxing? Hell no. Possibly one of the most frustrating games so far.

Well, I was reading this thinking that having my fingernails removed would be more peaceful than playing the bug game but no, this game actually manages to be even more stressful - albeit for different reasons. After hours of wondering if this is what hell feels like, I somehow managed to get all the bonus points for today, and now I never have to play this game again !! fucking hooray !!
If there was a better sp payout (like 100 sp for every bug instead of 10?) if the net problem was fixed, and if maybe it was less obnoxiously slow I might actually enjoy it though.

Well, after a couple of games of Net Gain I definitely feel like smashing some bugs for Bug Guy Joe...

I've found you can 'snag' the edge of a bug, then before it's completely in the net, pull up or down to get another one if you think you'll miss it by waiting for the first one to get completely into the net. I use that alot, I can get three different type bugs that way sometimes.
On a different note, I saw that you guys put a seizure warning on the burrero game. You might really want to do the same for Ziara Racing- I have a seizure disorder, and though Burrero Baskets makes me a little dizzy (nothing out of the ordinary for me) Ziara Racing actually triggers seizures for me- it has several common triggers in the gameplay, including the road under the plane, which is a flashing pattern. Just thought I'd let you know and wasn't sure where else to put it.

This game is so hard. I don't like it one bit. I feel like the bugs are just jumping right over the net, as it is pretty centered on the bugs and still missing them.

Wow fifty is harder than I thought. Some of the bugs are way picky about the net placing, and some you basically have to miss. I can do it but wow. Don't remember it being this challenging.
I don't mind the slow pace of this game. And the added music is lovely. But why are we using such a teeny tiny net to catch these bugs? In real life it would be ridiculous to try to catch bugs with a net the same size as the bugs. Or have we wandered into the land of the lost where the bugs are giant sized and the net is only normal size? In that case these giant bugs should be worth more than 10sp each. :)
I don't think I'll be able to get the bonus points this time. I played and I played and I played, and so far I only got past 25 points once. Didn't even come close to the 50 points needed for bonus points. There goes my perfect streak :(
But I really like the other games, and I love seeing all of the cosplays :)
