Featured Game: Mazes and Mahars!
Is it that time already? Today makes the final weekend of EPICon, and our final game release, an extra special blast from the past. No doubt some of you remember the playable demo of Mazes and Mahars that was available at EPICon 2010. Well, EPICon 2013 has another big announcement - unfortunately, production for Mazes and Mahars has been halted indefinitely, and the game likely won't be going into production.
JUST KIDDING! What kind of announcement would that make!? EPICon 2013, in partnership with our sponsor, Magicians of the Mesa, is proud to announce the full release of Mazes and Mahars!
What a way to end this year's convention! Be sure to collect your points from this much-anticipated game, as well as your bonus points from any of our previous games. You can earn 10 EPICon points for playing a single game of Mazes and Mahars (that's right, a single game), and an additional 10 bonus points for a win! Even better, for this last weekend you can play any combination of your favorite games to earn those 70 daily points. Knock yourself out!

Argh, that was confusing, but I finally got the hang of it (and won, whoo!) I think I'll enjoy playing it more in the future as well, it's so pretty!
This game is amaze-balls I hope a PVP version will be made. Or at least a version where you build your own deck. <3 this game soo much.
How can we ever get a tie between the mahar and the maze for the achievement? i don't think that any configuration of attacks for that to happen is possible.
This game was lots of fun ... until I had the maze down to 3 life points with no guardian and attacked it directly for three turns in a row yet those life points never went down and I lost the game. Also really wishing both 'players' had the same number of cards. Still, despite the fact that it would benefit from some tweaks, this is a very fun game and I like playing it.
As someone who plays card games more then video games, this was really fun. Shame the lag was bad, but hey, that's why you play real card games. :D
This was such a fun game, it took a long time to play though so I'm glad we only have to play it once to get those points. :)
Haha, what an epic win. 1hp remaining for the last three turns and I still managed to beat the maze. I'm so happy this game is back!

Love this game! It's really addictive and for some reason I'm finding it easy and winning more than half the time ^^;
I just noticed that some of the trading cards have been updated with more realistic game card images, now I actually want to collect them. Let the hunt begin!

I'm glad that the limit that we can play the games are now much higher instead of only 10. I though it didn't have a limit since it's showing "0" instead of the "0/10" points earned, but apparently the limit is at 127, since I've tried playing two different games after I reached 127 n both and they didn't count for the points.
Very challenging.. I only wish you could choose your side. Or even be able to edit your deck somehow. But either way - Love it :)
This game...igh. I'd love to have Guardians to play, rather than depend on anti-trap/ailment prevention, and random dice roll attacks :/

Ok... my wrists, finger and shoulders are killing me thanks to trying to get 70 points per day. I don't normally play games that much and this has stretched my limits. So much time spent when I could have been restocking my shop and making some sp. So now I'm sore and getting poorer and you bring out a game that is totally incomprehensible to me that takes forever to play. I grew up in the '60s and '70s. When all these yugioh, pokemon card craze came out I was raising children so the whole thing is lost on me. Did I mention I'm exhausted from spending so much time playing these games on here every day? My family is threatening to disinherit me because every time they want me to do something it's "I only have 20 more games to play!" and such. Not to mention the two other Subeta players in my home couldn't get their games in because they prefer to play their games on my PC instead of their laptop. It was hardly ever available to them because I was busy trying to get my games in. Thank God y'all are finally having pity on a poor old arthritic lady and ending this! Only because I'm anxious for the prize shop have I even bothered. There was so much from the previous prize shop that I never got! Ok.. rant over. Now to go see if I can get my 70 points for today.
ahaha I understand how to play but it always seems like every time I get anywhere close to winning the computer heals fully and kills me. I also wish this game could have been made to not have to reload for every turn. It's also really slow and, to me, boring.
I didn't think I was going to be able to do this, but on the fourth game -- I actually won. I won?! Can't believe it felt so good to actually beat that thing.

I don't think my score display is right. it's saying 10/10 on this game and I've only played it 5 times and lost 4 of those times. and my overall went to 70 even though I've only played 40 or so today.
I've never played this game before but it reminds me of Yugioh! I've never seen the show or played the game, but I saw my friends play it a few times... But somehow I manged to win the very first time and get the achievement for winning with 5hp or less? Sweet.

I never got to play this before but holy hell is it fun. It reminds me a lot of games like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering.
It took me a few turns to really get the hang of it but that padlock went down pretty quickly after.

I wasn't around for the previous Epicon, so I never played this game before.. I think I'll need to read the rules a dozen times for them to sink in, I'll keep them open in another tab for now..
Can you please add an option to play this full screen? cause I have a 5" screen with 1366x768 resolution and there is no way in hell I'll ever fit the whole game + the 'continue game' button in my browser screen at the same time. I have already hidden my taskbar and the game alone fills the entire height of my screen.

Thanks so much for Epicon....there are some games I didn't like, some I did but I enjoyed the thought of coming to Subeta and something new every day. You guys are wonderful!

Idgi- do we just have to play one game of Mazes and Mahars to max out on the "Required Score: Play" for that game then? So we just have to play one game and win one game? And then we can play any of the other games 60 times? Or we can just play Mazes and Mahars 7 times to max out completely for the day? xD is confused

a restock war was always frustrating because you had to be online all the time and if lucky you didnt get a " this items is already sold " message rofl :)

It helps to read the rules before you try the game. They aren't fabulous at explaining everything, but it gives you something to start with! So far I've played three games and won all of them. That earned me 40 epicon points right there, which makes me quite happy. ^_^ My wrists are getting tired from the games, and I'm avoiding the bug-swatting one!

Hmmm... I was ready to commit playing this 10 times! I am so happy you guys are using this game to wrap up Epicon with. The only thing I think that would make this better would be the option to play as Mazes OR Mahars.

I love this game, it's kind of like the Battle Coliseum... just more fun for some reason. :P
I love this game but why does it have to be sooooo slooooow!? sobs It's bad enough that the "Continue Game" button even exists - why can't we just get on with it automatically telling us what the Maze is doing already!? - but it takes about 5 seconds each page load for that button to appear! Never been so glad I have a widescreen monitor, so I can go watch videos or something in the other half of my screen while waiting and waiting for everything to load each turn.

I won on my second attempt. I guess I was lucky enough to have the sugary sweetness and swipe cards in my hand at the same time while the maze was low on HP.
I would just like to say that I like that I got 20 points for playing this twice (because I lost the first time and wanted those bonus!)

You can't do any combination though D: I love Tubular Tiles so I wanted to play that for my points but can still only submit 10 games. Will this be changed? Guess I'll have to do the other games instead. Shame, I didn't want to seashell my points.
my only suggestion is I wish we could play on the mazes side. using guardians w/ traps sounds infinitely more fun than the myriad of support cards we have to use

Eh, not sure how I feel about people playing 60x-70x seashell spotter (depending on if they play the bonus) to max out for the day having the same point total as people who diversify and spend a longer time on games. xD But eh. We'll see, I guess. Yay for M&M. Been hearing about it a lot, so it's nice to get to play it! 8D

The sP payout for all these new games is really unbalanced. I just got 9k for a 10-minute game of MaM, whereas a 2-minute game of Tubular Tiles pays 10k and a 30-second game of Memory pays ~20k -- it's just all over the place. For a lot of these games, the reward just isn't worth the effort.

Idk what I am doing 8D; the how to is pretty confusing. I wish there was a round of it that teaches you how to play. So for now I am playing it as if it is yu gi oh because Im boss at that :U -flops-

awww still capped at 70 points? That's a bummer, I was hoping we could make a mad points rush at the end XD, especially if the shop is as large as previous posts have hinted at. As far as I know, no other events have a points cap but I could be wrong. Oh well, it was fun and I think I did ok on pointage. Thanks for this event, I got so many achievements I never would have even tried for otherwise!

SO glad I finally got the 'Psychic' achievement title a few hours. I love all the new games! :) Hope they stick around after this EPICon ends.
