Subscriptions on legacy, with more in them!
Subscriptions used to live on new.subeta.net. They're back home now at subeta.net/cs/subscribe.php, and I added a lot while I was moving them.
Pay yearly or with PayPal. Every plan now has a yearly option, priced at 10 months. Yearly plans still pay out your rewards once a month. You can also pay with PayPal now, monthly or yearly.
Give a subscription. You can buy someone 1, 3 or 12 months of any plan. You pay once and nothing renews. Pick a friend from your list, add a message, and leave your name off if you'd like. If they already subscribe, the gift starts when their subscription ends.
Changing plans. You can switch tiers on the subscribe page without canceling first. The new plan starts at your next renewal, and nothing extra is charged that day.
If you subscribed through the old system, your subscription keeps working as it always has. When you're ready, the subscribe page can move it to a card or PayPal. Your first charge on the new plan lands on the day you would have renewed anyway, and from then on you can change tiers or pay yearly.
Renewal messages. Every renewal now sends you a message listing what came with it and when you renew next. If you cancel, you keep your perks through the end of the time you paid for. If you pay by card, you can change your mind and keep the plan any time before then.
More for Goddess. Goddess now earns 2 Subscription Points a month instead of 1.
More in the Subscription Shop. Your points still buy the monthly items from every past month, like these:

Fewer daily chores. Subscribers get free autotraining days every month: 5 for Quester, 10 for Councilor and 20 for Goddess. You also get extra free autopricer runs: 1 more per shop each day for Quester, 3 for Councilor, and as many as you like for Goddess. Gold Accounts get a Train all button at the Training Center, too.
I'm collecting ideas for more perks in this thread, so tell me what you'd want.
Tests and polls. New features now go to a small group of players first, with a short poll attached, and the tests page shows what's running right now. More than a thousand of you have answered those polls so far. Your answers decide what changes before a feature reaches everyone, and I really appreciate every one of them.

- An Experiment Pick, for 2 points. You choose which experiment your pet becomes at the Pet Zapper, and you still pay the zap.
- A Custom Overlay Voucher, for 2 points
- A color swap or a species swap, for 1 point each, spent on the new Pet Swap page. These work with the regular species and colors.

Omg the fact that I'll be able to get new pet slots on a regular interval going forward just made my entire year! I couldn't be happier right now :heart:
I will have to look into seeing how to change to the new payment system. In the meantime I am glad the old one still works.
I'd rather things were easier for you all around, and reading over the comments, moving to the new payment system sounds like it will be easier on your end.

Question for the " train all" feature - is it possible to choose a pet(or pets) to opt out?

@StarShadow i believe you get the number of "uses" depending on your tier: 5 for Quester, 10 for Councilor and 20 for Goddess. you can use them automatically on the training page (should say free if you have any left)!
Just logged on and confused. I get free autotraining but only certain days? How do I know which days and how do I start it?

I am subscribed! Just joined but a few dollars a month is worth the hours of time I can easily spend daily!

So - you can stay on the existing system and you'll keep getting billed (and we'll keep getting paid!), it's just better over the long term to move to paypal directly or stripe.

@BoaConstrictor Is the old payment processor we used, which is how you used paypal. It's a little bit annoying and complex and you can read about it on wikipedia, but PayPal owned braintree, and then pushed it as it's "developer friendly" way to take payments and subscriptions. They've since spun it off and are now pushing PayPal as their own product again, which is why we're switching.
It's incredibly annoying on both ends, which is why I'm encouraging people to switch with that extra subscription point.

I am a bit confused: I've just visited the new subscription page and it claims:
"Move to a new plan
You pay through Braintree, our old billing system - ..."
I've been paying through paypal ever since my subscription started (used credit card for CS in the old days), we don't even have Braintree here or at least I don't know it - is this simply an automated message for everyone?

@Lea It's just a perk that most people use, and so I'd like to keep it as a major perk. If it helps, check out the wishlist feature which lets you see your friends wishlists that have CWs that you can buy with your vouchers.
Ohh this is so exciting the Experience and color species swap are very neat! Also if I understand correctly for pet slots, these aren't new slots, but they count towards the '' new slot additions (max 65)'' in the slots breakdown? Which iirc are the MC and CSC slots, so it's just another way to get those slots, but it's not NEW slots. So whenever we do get new slots next, we'll be able to buy them with CSC, SP OR subscription points, but there's no new slots right now.

Okay so overall this is exciting and I'm super happy to see these changes!! Ugh I was in the midst of writing a reply to that forum topic and I saw the subscription shop stuff before I finished writing it, and now there's this news post and I STILL haven't finished writing my reply...
But also wait I'm confused, I can't find where to compare subscriptions perks and I'm just. So, like, are we still getting CW vouchers with the subscriptions, and everything else is stuff we pick and choose? Like the subscription shop is a separate thing and CW vouchers are just this... account-specific thing that automatically comes with certain subscriptions even if we'd rather get other things (like, things from the subscription shop) instead? I don't see the CW vouchers in the subscription shop and I know they're not going away so I'm just... bro am I gonna accumulate even more of these until more options come out or something lol

So if I understand correctly, these aren't new pet slots, but they're an alternative way to get CSC pet slots? (I genuinely want this to be the case because I'd never spend subscription points on anything else if it meant potentally missing out on a slot)

does the goddess tier get the additional sub point even if we dont move over from the braintree payment? Just wanna make sure i dont have to go and change over now or if i can wait xD

These updates are awesome, I love seeing pets getting so much love and I know these new perks will be greatly appreciated by many! So glad I am able to support such an awesome site. The training update is actually life-changing omg. Really excited about the extra points perks too!! I will not move my subscription to yearly, because I want you to have that extra 2 months of $.

I may have just popped my 3 month gold token, but since it carries over anyways, and these perks sound absolutely awesome, the time has come, Subbed for Goddess!

By the way, do the slots from subscribing count towards the 65 new slot additions? Or will they be counted as loyalty totem slots?
I was wondering where those extra runs in my shops came from. lol I love subscribing, and the perks are gravy. Thank you for all the thought and energy you all put into Subeta. It is a joy to be here, and to support such a lovely work of he*art*!
In all honesty is it better if I move my subscription or just leave it where it is? If it is fine where it is, then less work for me. :P
