I think Keith just really needs to stop. I just signed up to check this site out due to the contrverse, but one of my friends plays it religiously. She got hacked and they got rid of her pets. Then she got frozen. She's very upset.<br />

I say no. It's not harming anyone. I really like the longcat and it's really cool to be able to own one on Subeta. I see it as homage to the longcat. As long as Subeta are acknowledging that they don't own the idea and aren't making any money from it, it seems perfectly fine.

I'm neither for nor against the Longcat staying. I have been slightly attacked by the *chans for supporting Subeta in the beginning, but as I've been stalking their Subeta raid threads, I've slowly turned more and more to the neutral side of the debate.<br />

I have been on Subeta for over two years. I love the staff, I love the site, I love the items, pets, and the feel that I get from playing Subeta. I met my roommates for college this year on Subeta, and they're the best roommates I've ever had. Subeta is responsible for my living conditions and my happiness in real life right now.<br />

What BlueGreenGrey said is absolutely correct, we HAVE to stand up now or they'll be back any time they get bored demanding who knows what. They'll start demanding the removal of any item they feel is even remotely similar to one of "theirs". So we can't back down, removing the longcat will solve nothing at this point and only serve to make things worse.

Personally, I've seen the cats all over the web. One site pokes a little fun about one of the most infamous web memes and a few people claim rights and ownership of an idea of public domain. It's yet another interpitation of the idea I have seen in countless flash files, gifs and Photoshopped images. And with the idea that this site had profited from it by the assailants not getting the facts straight, there was no way to get them to listen to reason or sway opinion as hostility was the first reaction, and that was the idea fed through the community.<br />

I don't think the longcat should be removed just because of ridiculous behavior from certain 4chan members. As has been discussed already, longcat is NOT the property of 4chan alone. It is used on MANY websites and seeing as how Subeta is not profiting off of longcats there's no good reason to remove it.<br />

Thousands of Longcats were dumped into the <b>Donation Center</b>, so that any member who wanted to could grab one for <b>FREE</b> only enflamed them - because they thought (not being from Subeta themselves and having no clue) that the Donation Center meant <b>you had to donate real money to the site to get one</b>. Proving them wrong on that did <b>nothing</b>; they really do not care if they are wrong, they only care for maximum destruction and getting their jollies off by wreaking havoc and spreading misery.<br />

<b>Subeta is doing all it can do to make you and your account safer right now. Now you need to do your part too.</b> CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD! Make it something difficult, mix caps and lowercase, throw in some numbers and symbols if you can. <b>Never use the same password for another site</b>, so if they get one password, they don't unlock half of your life. Keep a handwritten list by your PC if you must. Do not post your real name or identifying information. Use caution when clicking links and browsing other sites. <b>NEVER visit links from someone you do not know</b>. Cookie grabbers are no fun at all, I assure you. There have been impersonators - <b>Do NOT give your personal and/or login information to ANYONE</b>, not even "Keith." Keith doesn't need your information, people. It's readily available to him.<br />

<b>And please, put a PIN on your account, preferably everywhere.</b> Sure, it's an extra step when accepting trades, taking items/sP from your Vaults, etc. But it's worth it. And it's much, much more secure.
