The velosotor and devonti have received a bit of an update in their common poses! The devonti is also now available in Nuclear and Marsh. The velosotor should be available in these colors soon.

I think what really needs to be done is to make it seem more front-facing, to match the angle of the devonti, because right now it seems a little sideways to me. XD Though the last devonti's muzzle bothered me for much the same reason. But in my opinion, I think this devonti is still a great improvement over the last. Another note on the Devonti, I'm LOVING the eyes! I didn't realize how gorgeous they looked! Arbor, that's good lookin eyes you slapped on. inserts those eyes on the malticorn's face That'd be pretty =x

Digi...you weren't the one that set me over the edge. It isn't even just this comments section that made me upset. I have seen three different users tell others to shut up in the comments section in the past two days and I find it rude and obnoxious. I agree 100% with you that crits should be a valid critique not just a "it's bad" or "it's horrible" with nothing suggested to make it better. That doesn't help the artists at all and makes us all seem like a bunch of crybabies who just don't like change for no good reason. And on that note I think i will shut up for a while (and go back to my dinner). No hard feelings Digi?
I know and understand that the artists worked hard on the Devonti revamp, but it just doesn't match the standards we have set, based on the other pets. I, personally, dislike the long(and ugly, in my opinion) nose on the Devonti. It makes its face look off-center and unbalanced.
Every other detail is love, but the nose is just... ugh. Anyway, my thoughts on the Devonti.
The Velosotor is very nicely drawn, however, I wouldn't have used such dark colors as people may not be able to see any details. They may just see a silhouette of a perfectly beautiful pet. The only flaw I see in this is the 'grin' on its face. It makes it look a little silly, and I imagined the Velosotor as ferocious.
And to the other people who have commented and argued on this, I think you've gone too far. I'm sure some moderators and other users agree. The comments were built for critiques, not for arguements on opinions. Of course I agree that no user has the right to tell another to shut up, and that person /was/ in the wrong, but everybody has a right to express how they feel about the new pets.

I mean..even if I saw a piece of art I found to be "bad", I wouldn't say that...I would simply point out how that person could improve the picture or their future pictures, because the worse thing to do is to discourage someone, which words like "terrible" and the like can do. ^^; Sorry I seemed so offensive earlier.

Again, I never said anyone should shut up. .__.; Ever. And I fully support critique, really. It just makes a world of different when it's constructive criticism and not. You can point out flaws without saying it's hideous or awful or bad or any of those things. Which is what I'm getting at, or trying to.

Digi, I'm a member of Deviantart, and I have had people throw nasty comments at my art. And those who gave a reason why it was 'terrible', I took their advice! Because obviously there was something wrong with it that would make it look 'terrible.' I got much better comments after I fixed 'said picture'.<br />

I am sorry if I upset anyone. I just don't think it's really that fair to jump to "it's horrible" just because it's a little different...I do think the muzzle could be fixed up a little, but personally it bothers me less than the other one (which to me seemed to attach a little funny, but that's my opinion). But also, I don't think it'd be fair to only allow the owners to vote, considering that many people may consider getting a pet if it is revamped. For example, I do not like the old malticorn, but if this revamp goes through I will definitely be considering getting one. So yeah..I think everyone should have a right to vote on the revamps because everyone is a member and should have a say too. I do see where you're coming from though.

The Velosotor revamp is simply beautiful.
The Devonti is nice too, but i have a few problems. The fir does look a lot more clean cut, but it's just, for lack of better words, less-fluffy than the original. I much rather preferred the more stout and round Devonti over the square-shaped current body. Also, the nose is too long, making its' face look similar a dogs'.

Digi, with all due respect to yourself and the artists, I think that the Devonti owners have a right to critique a pet that they chose because they loved its original look...I also wish that Polls could reflect -only- the votes of owners of the pets in question. =/ I am sure that all owners also feel that they 'spent hours' earning the points to colour their favourite pets, and found the new change to be a 'nasty' shock. No doubt the art is of good quality, but the majority consensus does not seem to favour the new longer nose and muzzle of the Devonti.

Actually, no, it's <i>not</i> a llama, it's a devonti. It can look as un-llama like as it can and still be a devonti. It may look based upon a real animal, but it is not a real animal and therefore, can look like anything and look as little as the real animal it's based on and be a devonti. I love its new nose. +)

I personally think all the revamp qualities are normally better thn the older pics. And the "special color" revamps are always really good. No picture is perfect, and I'd go on to guess the artists spent awhile on these.
I never told anyone to shut up. o.o But when people say the art is hideous or whatever simply because it's not the personality of their pet or they just aren't used to it, THAT is rude. I understand it's a change and it can be hard to adjust or whatever, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's okay to say that it's awful, because not liking the change is different than the art being downright "bad" or "awful." And also, the artists aren't being rushed. Different artists draw different pets at their own pace. If the artists were being rushed, all the torrent, sheeta, ontra, and other revamps would have all been completed by now. The feli would have also been revamped. However, the artists take their time to give you the best they can give. There is no proof that they are being rushed.
Thinking something is stupid doesn't justify or give you the right to silence <i>anyone</i>. Last I checked, it was the admins who held that kind of power.
I think the Devonti could use less black lines in its fur, and just use dark brown. Pretty minor, though. I just think it'd pull off the fluffy look better than this.
I really like the Devonti, but I think it should have cloven hooves. personally I just think that. but other than that I love it!

If you say it looks hideous and then explain why you feel that way it is a genuine critique. Just outright saying "I hate it" with no reason or suggestions for improvements is rude as well, but still an opinion that is allowed to be expressed. I know the artists must cringe reading the comments, but that still doesn't give you the right to tell others to shut up about how they feel.

the bluish haze that surrounds the angelic is what I love about it! I almost made MidoriSour a devonti and turned her angelic because of the colored line art on it. It looks all soft and fuzzy and cuddly and...Dawwww. I'm sure they will be revamping it because of the colored line art and I feel that is a true tragedy for the species as a whole. As for the sometimes harsh crits here...well as long as the person is stating why they feel the new version is "ugly" or "bad" than it should be taken as what it is...a criticism. Not as an attack. yes, the artists all work very hard here and yes, they are human and not machines...but they also have to expect that when they change someones beloved pet they will get feedback and not all of it will be happy happy joy joy type of feedback. Beyond that, when the exact same thing is stated by numerous users as being "off" or "wrong" or in need of some fine tuning, it would behoove the artists to actually listen to them and take the comments into consideration. If that many people have an issue with it...maybe just maybe it does need some tweaking. Now, all that said, the new art is lovely as art itself goes, but there is still room for improvement according to most of the comments seen here. I do not own either of these pets so I have no personal stake in either revamp, but I do still have opinions and I do still appreciate that the staff here seems to listen to them(everyones opinion that is) and really try to keep us happy and in love with our pets. I think the Velosotor revamp is great as it looks more meaty and substantial now. The old one looked almost frail to me and very childlike. The Devonti looks great, but I agree that the changes to the muzzle make it look too doglike and older for some reason. It isn't as floofy, but it still looks snuggle worthy so I like that. It's just the face that gives me pause.

It isn't that the art is bad! The art is wonderful. It's amazing. Very well done on both pets. They just aren't the pets people got before (I know, obviously) and so the revaps are unsasfactory. If these were brand new species they'd be met with cheers and hazzahs.
Both of these revamps are amazing. The old devonti's fur was pasty and had way too many dark lines. This one's fur lays MUCH more naturally on the body, and doesn't seem so...sticky. XD However, it's extremely depressing how people have to be so offensive in their comments. It's "ugly", "awful", "I'm glad I got rid of my devonti." Sometimes I wonder where courteousness went these days. I would like to know how you people would feel if you spent hours on something and people simply threw nasty comments at you like that. People need to learn to appreciate the artists here at subeta.

... :l Not to be a total suckup (XD) but I reallly DO like the new Devonti. Just because ONE thing (The face, I admit) looks off, does not mean that everything about it is horrible and ugly. If the staff gets enough feedback about ONE THING (the face, again) then they usually WILL change it. But if everyone's mouthing off about how horrible it is OH NOES, well, they might just think you're being ignorant :/ The fur on the Devonti has SOOO much detail in it, as well as the horns. The artists are PEOPLE, not machines. And you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time. But, you yall want, put up a poll. It'll probably be just like the Mallarchy one -shrugs-
