Well, granted people have said some very strong things, but hey, I'm an artist, and I accept that if I put something out there, it may get lambasted if no one likes it. Heck, I remember my best friend looked at a pic I had worked very hard on, and told me the girl's face looked like a monkey. Well, it was hard to take, but she was right, and I fixed it. I don't really understand why an artist should get offended because someone says they "hate" something. I'd rather have an honest opinion, and this isn't a critique board after all, this is a finished piece of art that's being used on a site that is, in reality a business.<br />

Anyway, for those who are hatin' on the new designs, remember that on subeta we have the lovely ability to use any image we want to represent our pets on our profiles. If you want to use the old reborn keeto image, you can do that.

Well stated Raniphae about the Keeto, and about the fact that other reborn pets needed attention more than the keeto did (take a peek at the torrent). I'm just in shock. The Reborn Keeto was the first pet I lusted for on this site, and I worked my tail off to make Sarin one. He's lost his charm with this revamp, better quality art or not, his personality (prowling stoic fierce) and his strength are missing now. I would love it if the artist could add that back (and make the head a little smaller, it seems too big for the body). I actually like the new flames though, they're much more alive. sigh
MenstrualCramps.... Person, not everyone has the same taste in art. For me, it is far too... cutesy. Is there something wrong with me if I say I dislike something you like? -eyeroll- Not everyone has the same tastes. A lot of people here are saying that they like it? Well, kudos to them, let them like it as much as they want. Same goes for people who dislike it. There is nothing wrong with me, I am as mentally stable as a human being can be, and I am an artist myself- not a good one, mind you, and I have a certain style. Some people like my style, some people don't. It's the same with this; The style does not appeal to me in the least bit.
I am so sad that my reborn keeto has lost its powerful, sophisticated presence. I thought the special colors were not going to be touched? <br />

After a second look.. You know what the Keeto reminds me of? One of those cardboard panels with a hole for your head so you stick it in and look like something dumb for a picture.. lol. So it's a painting of some dainty, female kitten and the head belongs to an angry, tattered.. something. The head is just too detached and the flames make it all look very flat. I'm not complaining though, not until one of my pets is ruined.
Both of these are terrific - great examples of just how far Subeta's art has come. While the nightmare kumos was perfect for my Craindre, the pose and expression of this Ontra actually made me regret my decision for a moment.<br />

As for the keeto, it's splendid, and I definitely prefer it over the old one. (However, I think a few reborn pets could use the revamp much more: reborn dragarth, anyone?) I do agree, however, that, had I owned one, I would be very disappointed in the fact that it seems to have lost a certain fierce, prowling, deadly quality that the old art possessed...

What I don't get is how people think the Keeto is cutesy, and kitten-like and happy. How did it lose its nobility and fierceness? It's frowning/scowling and glaring. It's not jumping around like a Spectrum pet set on fire. :
Love the Ontra but I really couldn't care less for the updated Keeto. It looks like a kitten that was set on fire and is happy about it instead of the fierce, grown, fiery look it had before. Very disappointing.

Hmm... there's something I don't like about the Reborn Keeto's face, not quite sure what it is, but except for that I really like the revamp. I never liked the old RB Keeto, so kudos to the artist. <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> I hope /if/ the graveyard keeto gets a revamp, it's done like this one and doesn't change drastically. As for the Ontra, well I don't even like Ontras and this is currently my favourite Nightmare pet. The expression is wonderful and I think the artist did a great job.
LOL, the only reason I didn't have one of these was because I really disliked it before. I collect Keetos, and Reborn was the one I was the least fond of. Now I'm going to change a pet to one :3
Oh my, the first thing I thought of, seeing the keeto, was 'The Lion King'. I think that the excessive backgrounding takes away from the overall look of the pet. Certainly, it's much better looking than the original, but it could be nicer.<br />

All the people that love the new keeto don't have one. I'm pretty sure that if they revamp one of your pets, and with such a HUGE change in the pose, you will be pretty disspointed too, no matter if the draw it's better or not.

I will be changing my Keeto simply because he no longer looks masculine. Although I believe the quality of art has improved I am still not partial to the aesthetics of it.
Saga, thanks for posting that as a comparison. Anyone who doesn't see that this revamp is a complete improvement.. then I just don't know what is wrong with them.
xD People are bashing that Reborn Keeto so hard, but it's ten times better now than it was. I neeeed one.

Its not /bad/...but I don't care for the drastic change. The flames are too excessive...And I miss the look of the flames around the forepaws. The fur on the face looks chunky and odd to me, and the dark colours seem out of place. The eyes used to glow, and it had a confident sort of look...now he just looks like he's sulky or pouting. <br />

Keeto's left eye is also lazy... There are a couple more pixels of the whites of it's eye under the pupil than the left (our left).
Holy damn, that Keeto is gorgeous. I'm considering turning Orrekon Reborn now. xD;;<br />

Oh my! It's about time the Reborn Keeto got a revamp! I've been waiting for a long time, and it so so SO much better. I especially love the fire. <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_shocked.gif" border="0" /><br />

The Keeto's face and anatomy are both really nice, but I've never liked the blocky, tacky flames. I prefer Mystic_Cookie's style of flame that's used with the Sheeta and Demi.
The new Keeto looks very.... puppy/kitten-ish. The old one had this dramatic feel to it with its pose, and the fluff of fur over one eye. And the eyes of the new one are very... regular looking? You know, the old one had teh glowing orange eyes, and the new ones eyes are so similar to the regular keeto's eyes that it makes it look just like a firey keeto, instead of one that was reborn in flames. Get what i'm saying?<br />

Artwise, tho, it looks amazing. The coloring is awesome, and it still has its stern glare sort of thing going (the reason I love teh reborn keeto!). Proportionally it looks a little strange, as if its head were too big, but otherwise its fantastic. There are some things that I liked better on the old one, but the new one is damn good too.

The Reborn Keeto couldn´t be kept in the old form, the art style was really out of date and doesn´t match Subeta´s (new) standards. But while the new art is better, it lost so much of the attitude (the emo bangs!). The fire is also fairly unsatisfactory to me, it shouldn´t have lineart that thick and defined. The keeto was half engulfed in fire before (which is why you couldn´t see the legs) and now it looks like the fire is merely a panel following the keeto´s tail as opposed to actually coming from the pet.<br />

I might have considered a reborn keeto if it had kept the old attitude and just updated the art, but I wouldn´t choose to own either this one or the old one. So I´m a little dissapointed, but it isn´t a personal loss.

The main things that bother me about the new Keeto are the fact that it lost its piercing gold eyes and that the flames all seem too "curly". With that being said, the slight update in pose is much better (I can actually see where its back legs and tail are) and the face (with the exclusion of the expression) looks wonderful.

Personally I am not trying to be mean, I am simply offering my opinion in a non rude way. I specifically pointed out my points to I disagrred with(tip toe paws, curling flames, different pose). So please dont genralize.<br />

XD; The highlights make it look like plastic and the body shape was wrong for a Keeto... I did like some things about it, but I really prefer the new one. I wish they had kept the glowy eyes and serious expression though. XD But I LOVE the new Keeto's ears. And the fact that it has back legs. |D

just happy i didnt own a reborn keeto, i dont want "my" things replaced. this seems to be what all of you "shutup the new art is great"-screamers dont get. i chose my pet-colours because i fell in love with them the way they looked..seen them, liked them, else i wouldnt own them. sure the new art is nice and professional and definitely took more time and such, but i don't care about that, because what i liked is taken and will never come back. it's no offense against the artist at all, but against the site management. here you have to live in permanent fear of that lol.
