Introducing Tres Chic 2013!
Senior style correspondent Rana El-Amin, here. The world of fashion has been abuzz with news about Tres Chic, the most dramatic and exciting fashion competition of the year. Six contestants go in, but only one of these budding fashion icons will impress the judges and earn the coveted prize: Their very own Subeautique line!
This diverse group is sure to bring us thrills as they battle to be the best. Let's meet the competitors!
Sofi Marez: This fierce half-islander lady is a world traveler, and she brings a hint of her homeland to the fashion world with subtle tribal touches. While the islands may be in her blood, fashion is in her heart, and that passion can be seen in every design, even if she is somewhat secretive and reclusive herself.
Luciana Adessi: An artist at heart and newcomer to the fashion scene, Luciana's mix of the stereotypically feminine and the unconventional is sure to dazzle. Never afraid to take inspiration and run with it, Luciana has books full of designs just waiting to be seen.
Oscar Cannon: A Centropolite through and through, Oscar puts the haute in haute couture. His attention to detail is second to none. His work boasts strong lines and precise designs, and his work pioneering the comeback of tights and leggings has already been felt in the fashion world.
Camilo: Representing the Lower East Side of Centropolis, the urban king of fashion plans to bring the style of the streets to the mainstream. A mix of the industrial and the whimsical brings a special touch to whatever The King touches.
Gwenyth Verdi: From stunning Veta Lake, this reclusive flower-child is sure to be a stunner of her own with her nature-inspired offerings. Her love of fairy tales and magic is put into her work, resulting in wonderfully whimsical designs that bounce and flow with lace and frills.
Primrose Potter: Primrose, or "Rosie", calls a reclaimed Riverside barn her home. She shares it with her with her 8 cats: Marjorie, Maggie, Molly, Mae, Midge, Madge, Mary and Milly. Quirky, with a flair for the over dramatic, she has an obsession with knitwear and vintage trinkets and a penchant for singing off-key in inappropriate situations.
Who is trendy and who is dated? Only time (and your votes ) will tell!

Do we get to see who is winning after a while or will we be kept in suspense until the very very end?
I'm already tied between my two favorites, lol, but one was so much better in this round.

So excited about this, what a cool idea ^_^

At first I hated how Camilo's npc looked, but when I looked at the designs, I voted for Camilo without a second thought. That is an excellent design, and it's not easy to imitate street urban so well. The fluff's a little excessive, but everything else is well done. It's unusual to see street urban in a fashion show like this, but I won't deny it's very well done. I hope at least this design wins.
Plus it has a newsboy cap that looks like I could actually make use of it. I want that hat and those blue designs.

I love this! I hope they all survive to the end of the event - no fashion murders, please! ^_^; Other types of whodunnits are ok. ^_^
just a question
why if we try to go to an npc's profile - we always get re-directed to our own profile ??

torn between Gwenyth Verdi and Luciana Adessi...If only we had some samples of their work...too hard to choose from!

I hope some of these sketches stick around to become NPCs later or something because they are fab ;-;

Primrose reminds me of the Primrose from the Hunger games only because of the mentions of cats, singing and trinkets.
Other than that this is going to be so hard for me. Urban/tribal themes and lot's or dark colors are totally my thing and oh god I can't decide things.
I'm definitely participating in this though.

Fun! I voted. I wonder if we're allowed to share our votes? I mean, probably, but just a question.
Oh man, this is such a cool idea! I can't help but imagine a sort of Project Runway kind of thing, ahahaha.
love this! I like almost all of them. it was hard to choose. but I have a favorite already!
I must say I love the concept of this.
does this mean older subq will be retiring? we have more and more new sets, just curious to know if some of the older sets will retire now.

How did Sofi Marez get the lunar wig to be a salon style? or the others, for that matter. Or are we getting those eyes too?

INB4 the one I care about doesn't win and thus I mope and continue to look the same for the next 2 years.
