New Years Shop!
The New Years Shop now has new items to celebrate 2016! Make sure to check out older tabs though, as we’ve added some old restockable New Years items! You can purchase items from this shop by using New Year Tokens, which you can get from the following quests: Carl, Cynthia, Cursed, Library, Maleria, Pete, Quentin, Sagittarius, Sarah, and the Wizard. The New Year Tokens will stop going out on January 15th!
You can also get New Year Tokens via a common random event!
Today is the last day of Luminaire! Which means at 11:59pm, Mysterious Melody will close, fairies will stop visiting via Random Events, and Cursed Quests will stop giving out old Luminaire restockables.
We haven’t forgotten about Melody’s last few nights of items or the achievement! We’ll have a news post later in the day about this, sorry for the delay!

I'm assuming that since it wasn't mentioned in this post, that none of the previous years of items in the New Years Shop will be retired once celebrations are over? I have so many items to get from previous years and this years and I want to be sure I can grab everything somehow.
m' sad, yesterday i got fine tokens playing the quest's, today is more than small..:(... what happend? yesterday i got up to 2,9 mio. sp from wiz, saggi and maleria, today i got ca. 1 mio playing 5 quest's... is sad... but ok, ty for the chance...*

Is it just me or is it weird that there is a 2014 and 2016 page in the New Year's Shop but, no 2015 page?
Yesterday when I did Wizard Quests, I got a NY token for every one I completed. Today I didnt get one until the 8th quest. Glitch?
Sorry but I don't need tokens badly enough to go through the pain of doing Cinthia quests.
Seems like item previews for me are broken on Chrome, but they work when I try Firefox. Not sure what's the problem
I love that we get the tokens by questing, really helps with me wanting to quest and I also love the random events of getting tokens too. It's perfect.

I'm curious, why do some of the NPC characters have no faces? The New Year Shop and the Gift Wrapping elf guy have no faces, it's super creepy.

People were donating things they got from the stocking script glitch instead of deleting them as instructed by staff so all of that is probably going to have to be cleared out before it re-opens again or else users will be getting things they aren't supposed to be getting from there.

New Years tokens are the only thing that will ever get me to do Cynthia's quests, also, I LOVE the new items.
I agree with Butterflies. I would like to see a grey cat. Actually I would like to see any cats as the party cats I put in my wardrobe won't show up in the list of items so I can wear them! :(

shouldnt the year in the new years shop be labeled '2015' not '2016' so that way it's consistent with the others??? :/

Yup still having questing issues. "Just pushed a massive change that should resolve the issues that have been causing user shops (and quests by extension) to take 5+ minutes to complete."
The announcement about fixing the issue could have a time stamp...so we know when the 5 or so minutes is up...

It's impossible to do quests right now. The shop search lags and then gives a 504 error. Is anyone getting quests done?
I also have to voice my disappointment about Subeta's decision not to extend the Cursed holiday quests a few days.
I really feel it's only fair, I know that several people haven't been able to access quests for days. I am still

K, it was all good for like half an hour, did 4 quest givers, restock some, and... that would be it. Can't add items to shop now, can't release fairy, can't turn in New Year's Token, and quests eat up items and then time out without finishing. Nada. Is it just my luck?
I am also getting continued 504 errors - which is not funny. Items (I had in m inventory) are gone and I have to buy them again in order to finish the quests.
I swear the site only crashes and lags when i do wizard quests that need to be done fast :/

I just did some quests and got 3 new year tokens from quests and 2 from random events but only have 3 in my inventory. I will keep an eye on what happens as I continue to try and quest in between the page errors.

Took a good while for Cloudflare to decide I wasn't a bot this morning, but I've managed to complete my quests with only minor hiccups.
OH and thank you staff for such awesome new year items!!! Loving the cats so much!!! And I can't wait to see what you have in store for the melody cottage dilemma!
Wizard quest glitched and gave me extra wizard tokens. Can I delete the duplicates myself or do I have to create a ticket?
I bought all 3 cat whistles but they still don't show up in my wardrobe after about 3 hours :( Account search says I have them though, so I hope this can be fixed soon.

Glad to see fairies are hanging around for one more day; I'm only 14 away from finishing the releasing achievement.

The 502/504 errors are not fixed yet, I still get them. This makes questing rather annoying, so I wonder why you would push users to quest.
Getting some major weirdness quick-stocking my shop. I quick-stocked about 20 items, got a cloudflare error in the middle of it, and half the items stayed in my inventory... I went to QS the rest of them to my shop and it said my inventory was empty... really hope they ended up in my shop...
Sometimes turning in the quest makes it have a bad gateway and that eats the items and tells me that I don't have the items I very clearly remember buying just before :s If they're expensive items, that's, y'know, a bit of a problem :'(
I bought all the cat whistles and put them in my wardrobe cause they're awesome (great job staff!)..... however, when I go to my wardrobe, the cat whistles aren't showing up.... Should I submit a ticket?
I want that wrap... but I dunno if I want a baby in my wardrobe. Doesn't seem right. Or legal.
Everything's great now and I've found no problems. Thanks for working so much on this! I know we all give staff and the site shit for the problems, but we do sincerely appreciate the work and response that goes into running the site!
Thanks for pushing that fix! I was in the middle of Wiz when the site went down the second time so only got a 15 token, but I'll take it! Actually I wasn't having any trouble at all as someone pointed out in Amber's post that holding the Ctrl as you click 'buy' bypassed the lag and she was so right, I was just whipping through. Good tip to keep in mind for future lags. NY tokens are coming in at a fast rate, thank you so much for that, there's a lot of items I'd love to have.

Server eats items, buys duplicates, impossible to do quests and I don't recommend moving things to the wardrobe either! I bought the Festive Golden Firework Cookie and one of the Cat Whistles, moved them to the wardrobe they don't show up.. coins that are now gone to the trash :

I seem to only get bad gateways from particular shops (most of them). But if I buy the same item from a different shop usually the transaction goes through smoothly. So to anyone having trouble: Maybe try buying from a different shop that has the same price and see if that works?

I was so confused by that cat whistle at first. I... did not realize it was a cat. Cute items, though. I assume the site is stable now and I can do my quests... (kept timing out earlier and I ended up with three Arid Coffee Pots >>)
The fireworks backgrounds are so pretty! Looking back, each year the items get exponentially more affordable and better quality. What's up with that???

Wish I could actually do quests without the site timing out when I go to buy the second item needed. :(

it's not timed, you have a whole day to complete it. i don't even think it resets i.e. if you didn't complete it on one day you'll just pick up from where you stopped the next day? i think?

Also, wouldn't forcing users to hang out and F5 pages a lot (for random events and attempts to quest) just make everything worse? The site isn't stable. I don't think its a great time to flood it.

here's hoping I get lucky with REs because the sheer amount of errors I've been getting isn't making me wanna start going on a questing spree for tokens tbh.

It happens every year, and if necessary, it can be postponed.
The gifts, the celebrations, the apologies... It's appreciated, and I understand the staff's desire to keep users happy. But I am not the type of person to appreciate a gift midst chaos. I would rather these things come after the site is fixed and working properly so that I could enjoy them properly.

So are quests actually going to fixed? This is getting old. Why are you starting a questing event when we can't even buy from user shops?

Um there is some weirdness going on with user shops. I have received multiples of some items I tried to purchase when I got the cloudflare whatever page error. I dunno if it took my SP twice or not (I hope not!) Cause I don't need two copies of these items.
This is really messed up. I'm doing saggi's quest right now. I did purchase the 2 items he ask for, when clicking on the finish quest button 12 times, because I keep receiving this message:

This is so frustrating because all the items need to be purchased from either a usershop or NPC shops, even if I have the items already in my gallery, which I am not able to remove.
Honestly, I really don't want to sound negative, but I'm not sure this was a good idea to even have started this New Years Shop event due to all the current issues occurring ~

Quests aren't the only way these tokens are going out. :) The random event for that also gives you the tokens is very common, like on par with the annoying snow fairies from Luminaire. So even if you can't get quests done right now (I know some people are having issues!), you will at least get hit by the RE a few times while you're online. :) The event will stick around (likely become a bit more rare) once quests are fixed though.

Well, I'm still hitting 502's when trying to buy items for quests. Shame I won't be able to participate.
Can't do the quest Proper. Either by the "forever loading" or "being kicked out with the "504 page"... the results: bought multi "unnecessary" items and got "15 Point Wizard Token" instead of 20 Point Wizard Token. Can't buy items in some shops (especially the one on the top list _cheapest shop), can't move some items out of the vault (forever loading)...

To echo everyone else, yeah. This is all well and good and all but I did 2 sets of 15 quests yesterday and that took me about 3 hours to complete because of all the errors. I had to buy multiples of the items for the quests to even register that I had them and a lot of the times the items would just go missing. How exactly are we going to be able to do this? I really don't trust that the quests will do what they're supposed to do right now. I feel like this needs to be put off until we can actually do the quests in a reasonable amount of time.

I didn't see the update about the RE before commenting, but thanks for that and all the other hard work staff has been doing in general.
I think it was a really bad decision to release the NY Tokens when buying from shops + completing quests is so difficult right now. I've only done one quest in like five minutes because the page lags and errors constantly and now I have x4 extra of the item I was trying to buy.
