I think it's amazing that you guys let us know beforehand, and not knowing the exact time is exciting :D

Whaaaat!? Well I do have some csc, thankfully! :)
Though I haven't bought any of the new vanity stuff yet, and there's some that I think I want that is being retired...so I am a bit torn.
Thanks for this, it's a nice surprise <3

Yeah, and it usually happens in December, so this is like a Subeta version of Christmas inJuly August lol

Trying not to spend anymore money and this is thrown out /cry. Excited to see if I have any wishes in there.

The pawn shop usually has hundreds upon hundreds of items in it when it opens. Yes some of the "rare" items go fast but there's still so many amazing items to choose from even days after it opens.
For those thinking that they'll miss out if they miss exactly when it opens, just wait until you see everything that's actually in there. No one will miss out entirely if they take the time to actually look through whats in there. It's still a great way to get CWs for less than slot price which is something a lot of people can't pay.

This is a rare treat indeed, and early enough that it hopefully won't clash with the glut of spending required for Lumi gifts later in the year (for most people) like last year's late opening. Very thoughtful! :) Also, to anyone worried about missing out on the "best stuff," there were literally pages and pages of items in the pawn shop last year, and I still found a few cute things I wanted even days after the initial opening. If you're not online when it opens on the dot, don't fret!

I don't have any CSC on hand but I'm dying to see CWs in the shops! More things to WL haha ;v;

I'm wondering, if you guys are opening up the CW pawn shop now, does that mean that you won't be opening it up in November/December later this year?

Everyone can complain about the time not being announced all they want. I'm bummed because we didnt get a heads up last weekend and I didnt buy any csc. That sucks more than the time imo (and i work 10 hours both Thursday and Friday so I'm not saying that because i can be online all day)

@Sigilmancy You're able to somewhat see when events are upcoming by looking at the site directory, we're talking about items that have been established for an undetermined amount of time. I also don't feel like it'd help anyway being told a few hours prior, a shock drop makes things interesting. Then theres no established camping times. First come, first serve. That's just how the pawnshop works. I feel as though all the 'good items' you mention is subjective as users have different likes and dislikes when it comes to custom wearables, but I'm in the boat of not looking for the most sought after/high value CWs, and are more content with wears that cater to what I want.
I'll just politely dip out of this conversation now as you seem set in your ways. I hope you're able to get something that you want.

By that logic there's no point in telling anyone about anything, because we never know what's there. Why tell us the free shop has restocked when we may get nothing good from it? Why make a news announcement about the token shop if we're not guaranteed to want or like anything from that restock?
As I said previously, I can totally understand where Amber is coming from; saying it'll open at noon Subeta time backs her into a corner, and if something goes wrong that can cause a lot of problems. But surely Amber will know when she's getting close to ready and be able to make an announcement saying hey, it'll be the next hour or two. Knowing that people will flood in it's easy to open up more server space to minimize the lag, same as they do with events.
Yes, people are always going to miss out. And with something like say Survival or Vesnali missing the opening by a few hours isn't such a terrible thing. But from what I've been able to dig up about this particular 'event' (as I have never been present for this before, so I had to go looking) most of the good stuff is gone in the first few hours and missing out is a lot worse than other events. By having some general idea more people can free the time span to be present.
It's not just this, it's a general lack of being told more than a very broad span whenever something major is happening on the site that's frustrating. This is something I've expressed multiple times. Again; I completely understand not wanting to commit to a single time in case something screws up. But giving us a few hours warning before something like this starts I don't think is too much to ask.

@Sigilmancy i'd agree on the getting screwed over part if we all knew what was in the shop, but we don't?
for all you know there could be none of your wishlist items in the pawn shop, or even any items that take your interest. amber also already gave a reason as to why there isnt a specific time frame. you're focusing a lot on 'what if's'. if they gave a concrete time all the good items would be instantly snapped up and the servers would most likely suffer, and people would still complain anyway.
with timeframes you cant please everyone, as there are a lot of them. southern and northern hemisphere folk are going to miss out, and thats just something thats unavoidable.
i'm not trying to fight with you or anything, i'm just saying theres not much point in fretting about potentials when they might not be there.

It's about more than just an anxiety thing, though. People who aren't online at the time because they can't clear an entire day to hang around the site but might be able to clear a few hours will get screwed over. Especially people who knew this was coming and have been trying to save up, you know? I'd also even argue in this case it's in the best interest of the staff to let people have a more narrow time frame; I can't be the only one who is contemplating buying CSC but holding off because if I'm not online if when it starts and I miss out on stuff then it's not worth that purchase.

@qarakuzi i got 3 morty cards today, i think you're just having a stroke of bad luck, unfortunately

speaking of csc, did quests stop giving out morty cards (and I missed the memo)?? or have I just been super unlucky in the past few days?

perhaps take solace in this; if you miss an item, you wouldnt of been aware that it was there in the first place, and it went to a good home. that's how i'm gonna think about it. no use worrying over something that is potentially not there, and this is coming from the king of anxiety. i wouldnt sweat it.

How does this work, will there be random cw items put in or things that people have pawned in the past?

Thank you, thats pretty cool! Hope everyone gets something they like!
Can someone ping me if the shop is open?

Honestly I feel that with a lot of things that happen around this site event wise. I'm US based but I'm a night owl, so it's difficult. Like I said I can understand not wanting to commit to a time, but a warning of some kind would be great because I have friends who play who might catch it if I'm offline and warn me, and vice versa for them if I'm online and they aren't. Being able to say "Hey the announcement just went out it's starting in an hour or two" gives people time to wake up and prepare or do whatever they need to be ready instead of a random time. I honestly feel this way about all events on site, and it does irk me quite a bit that we only ever get a general time frame and then nothing until it randomly starts up :/

@Sigilmancy
I agree. If i knew an approximate time then id be able to set an alarm or arrange my schedule accordingly. Being in Europe doesnt help either. Ill just resign myself to knowing ill miss anything i might want and it will save me CSC.

So I have no idea what this is or how this works, but I am eager to see what's in the shop when it opens. I understand why we don't have a time, but it's still annoying; for people who are going to be at work or school, or are on different time zones or sleep schedules, it's quite irritating to have no idea when in the next 24 or so hours this will be happening so we can make sure to be here on time to check what's there and buy CSC if needed. Even a post of some kind stating it's close and will be opening in the next hour or two would be better than absolutely nothing until it just suddenly opens.

Thank you for opening the Pawn Shop, I love this event!
It would be nice to know the approximate time of the beginning so I can set my alarm clock here in Europe to watch the ongoings! ;-)

What’s the reasoning behind not announcing a time? I know you didn’t announce a time last time (I ended up not buying anything because I was a couple of hours too late) but why?
