Fingers crossed we get an extension on this event. I would like to be able to use the wardrobe and participate on the forums a bit more before it concludes, like with biting. Also being able to contract more than two strains would be chill.

So I want to clarify something regarding some asexuals on here feeling attacked....if that was because of my comment, that wasn't intended. I myself am asexual, so I get the disinterest in the over-focus on sexual things this year (I'm not into the items either, I prefer pretty girly stuff, but I just choose not to buy them rather than complain). So I definitely don't think people uninterested in sex or even repulsed by it are "prudes". I was talking about people who infantilize teenagers and shield them from sexuality like it's a horrible, traumatic thing for them to even know about. Not saying we need to rent them a porn flick, but acting like a teenager is going to be emotionally broken over seeing a pixel item is ridiculous. So yeah, I'm sorry if I offended the wrong person with my previous comment.

At this point, I'm mostly just frustrated with the forums being closed for ~12 hours with no further update. Forums are pretty much essential to this event between strain tracking and coming up with strain names, to biting people to help infect them. I really feel bad for the people who weren't online yesterday before this happened and weren't able to be bitten to become infected. I know that's not the only way to become infected, but it is the main way.
At least we can still kiss people by getting the links from other places, but this is really sucking a lot of fun out of the event right now.

while it certainly doesn’t offend or upset me nor do i care at all lol, i can definitely see both arguments concerning the new kinky items. the way i see it tbh, although majority of the users on sub are all adults, if i were a parent and i saw my 13 year old child on a supposedly child friendly website dressing up their avatar in BDSM gear, i would not be happy at all. really the only argument i have against it is that subeta is 13+ and it seems a bit dishonest from an outside perspective to include blatant sexually suggestive items. but that’s just me !!! i personally won’t be buying them but i hope everyone else enjoys all of the shiny new stuff and we get the forums back soon !!!

I agree with you that the event should be extended due to the forum chaos (I'd personally throw in some CSC as reimbursement too but that's just me). I've never seen the forums go down during my time on Subeta....

How do you kiss a certain user if you do not have their link? I need to work on kissing a user for a slot and figured I may as well be doing that and just trying to keep up with the count on paper but I have no idea how to kiss a user without the link and it is not on the user profile.

They've been down ~12 hours I think, based on what I've seen from some other comments. If you try to access the forums, it says down for "temporary maintenance" but I haven't heard anything besides that.

No forums or shoutbox for 12+ hours, and no word from staff. Typical. At the very least I hope they consider extending the event, but we'll see whenever they decide to give us an update shrugs
has anyone heard any updates on forums? I'm assuming the shoutbox/forums are down from backlash?? Ahh well, lookin for smooches while I'm at work ;)

I'm pretty sure COPPA is all about privacy and what kind of information websites can store with regards to minors. Personalized ads require some data about the person you're targeting, and that's why YouTube got into trouble.

I can't believe people are offended by the fetish items....the site already has lingerie and other "sexy" stuff. It's also a site geared more towards adults than, say, neopets.
The people arguing that it shouldn't be associated with valentine's day because "sex and love aren't the same thing" are being silly, too. Sex is something most people restrict to someone they are also in love with. Not everyone does, but the association is there for a reason?
Valentine's is kind of a minor forgettable holiday anyway. Subeta's zombie stuff is the only reason I remember it exists.
