Gielinor

Gielinor is the planet in which RuneScape takes place. Gielinor was a creation of the Elder Gods and discovered by Guthix in the First Age after searching for the elder sword. RuneScape is simply the nickname given by the humans Guthix placed in the lands as creations of not good nor evil, but neutral creatures with free will.

Gielinor's moon is in the realm Zanaris, famously known as the last place Guthix visited before arriving to the planet. Star sprites inhabit a belt of stars that surrounds the planet. Rarely, star sprites will crash into Gielinor's atmosphere and become visible to adventurers in separate parts of the planet.
