In a world where Monsters run rampant and the air is thick with the smoke of the industrial era, people come together in order to defeat these beasts and gain their rewards. There is a bit of fame along with Monster Hunting, it's a given. However, most Monster Hunters are only hunting for the money. These monsters aren't regular monsters, however. They're animals filled with dreadful rage that consumes their hearts and minds. Larger and stronger than usual animals, they only gain such contempt when in close proximity to the pollution of the human world. Unfortunately, humans are unaware that it is their doing that is causing the monsters to rise from nowhere.
Alistair's choice of weapon is a single pistol, chained to his wrist to prevent himself from losing his only defense when he is in combat. It is a prized possession of his, earned through his hard work in order to get into the Monster Hunting business. Of course, it is one of the fancier pistols. Alistair, along with his mother, unfortunately holds a bad habit of buying shiny new things. Their house is filled with useless trinkets and artifacts, and yet the two can't help but to spend their money on it. Alistair has a bit more control than his mother, however even he stops by a store window in order to mull over whether he should buy a new lighter or something.
His mother creates bracelets and necklaces from beads she purchases for pennies, which she sells to children on the streets who take a fancy to the worthless jewelery. Thus, Alistair takes the responsibility of becoming the bread winner of his family and bring in enough money to keep their homes and their lives.
Alistair is caring for his mother, but to others he can be considered hot headed and rash. He tends to keep his head low when confronting other Monster Hunters, as they are just as desperate for money as he is. Many times, he must hold his tongue when his Monster is killed by another group. As he works alone, it would be better not to get in trouble with these people.
