The Plot

Species: Aba

• Aba are a spacetime dimensional species that are not effected by time, physics, or spacial dimensions. They can move freely through the interdimension, as well as through the transdimension via creating rifts in spacetime to instantaneously move from one coordinate in space to another.
— Riftspaces are pocket dimensions within a rift, where ~~no other~~most known species are unable to follow due to transdimensional instability. (Addendum: apparently Virtue Class Seraph can do whatever they please, fascinating! - E.C.).

• Their growth, and regenerative healing, isn't measured by time or age of a being and instead is accelerated by the consumption of dark matter.

• Aba can transform their body shape and/or size at will, though they have two main forms:

Primary:

This is what's considered their true form.
An elongated, slim, body shape with a tail twice the length of the torso. Body has eight limbs in four sets. A boneless dorsal appendage runs from back of head to tip of tail, which aids in rapid movement and shifts in direction. Head is elongated, mouth large, and has five eyes; one at the top of the head, two set to each side of the head, and two facing forward. Eye placement is for ease of seeing in almost all directions simultaneously.
Mature Aba are usually 220-260', though some have gotten far larger based on their consumption of dark matter; this is usually dependent on their role within a clan, such as that of a leader or a protector.

Secondary:

This form is typically seen when in an atmospheric location, such as on a planet, or in riftspaces where space may be limited.
This form is achieved by them compressing the energy that makes up their body.
Humanoid in appearance, shape and size typically varies by individual. Some attributes remain unchanged, such as having five eyes and a tail, though others are modified. In this form the eight limbs seen in their primary form are merged into four, and the dorsal appendage moves to the head; this could be considered a form of cranial protection, or to better mimic other known humanoid species [hair or fur].

• There are three primary delineations of Aba; Gamma, Eta, and Zeta:

Aba Gamma:	Capable of creating, and expanding the size of, riftspaces within a rift pathway. This is done by releasing their own dark matter energy to create a pocket where objects, such as asteroids, or other Aba can be brought. By using their own energy they also leave an imprint that Aba Eta can easily locate.
Aba Eta:	Capable of sensing where riftspaces are regardless of the distance or who created them. They can also sense the precise location of any other living Aba, or any other living being so long as an Aba Eta has registered their genetic signature.
Aba Zeta:	Are considered "neutral" as they're unable to sense others nor create rift spaces. This classification was thought to have been lost during the war due to their inability to find allies or rift spaces

Side Note(s):
• Species/base concept is based off the African knifefish, Gymnarchus niloticus (aka: the Aba Aba). This includes body shape (sleek/streamlined), elongated head/mouth, dorsal fin appearance and functionality, and a nod to their ability to create electrical currents.
— Seriously, this is one of my favorite fish. Watching them move is otherworldly and just really cool. Warning though, most videos include live feedings since this is a very predatory fish with very crap eyesight (it's got electricity for a reason!).
