The name "Domen" has Slavic/Eastern European roots meaning "house" or "domain," suggesting stability, while also being a form of "Dominic," meaning "belonging to the Lord"
Domen (土面) or "clay masks"[3]: 34 are one of the ceramic artefact types of Jōmon Japan, alongside doban, dogū, and Jōmon pots.
Domen is often associated with the witch trials in Finnmark during the 17th century. According to folklore, Vardø and Domen became infamous as the end of the world, Ultima Thule and the entrance to Hell was said to be somewhere around Domen or Vardø, and so witches flew to Domen to meet the devil for sabbath.
Possible character idea:
Domen being short of Dominic. A cleric who decides to investigate the dark lands, with goals of defeating the demon lord Nyusha and cleansing the region for good. After reaching the mist wall with his party, they all enter it, but he is the only one who can get trough it without getting lost. He then tries to go back to help his party safely cross but they seem scared, acting like seeing things that are not there and screaming he is a traitor who deceived them. Not wanting to fight and potentially harm his former teammates who could just be confused, but afraid of being murdered by them, he gets trough the wall alone, determined the teammates will believe him once he comes back after freeing everyone supposedly enslaved inside the wall. But turns out, everything he knew about the dark lands was wrong.
