Enzo was born in Arizona to parents who came from Mexico. They were ranchers, so Enzo grew up on the back of a horse learning to herd cattle. As a young boy he loved to take his gun out into the desert and shoot at tin cans, playing cards, or anything he could, just to practice. He got so good he could easily shoot a rattler from horseback from about thirty feet away. It served him and his pa well when they were out herding their cattle and injuns tried to attack them.

Unfortunately one time there were too many of them, and they managed to kill his pa before he was able to kill enough of them to frighten them off. From the age of sixteen on, it was just Enzo and his ma and their cattle. It was a hard life that was made all the harder when a drought came and killed off most of their cattle. The bank was pounding at their door threatening to take their land and home and everything they owned if they didn't pay what they had owed for the loan they took out just to get that cattle in the first place.

Then Enzo saw in the paper that there was money to be made in mining. So he packed his ma up and they made their way to a little town called Prosperity, simply because it sounded like a prosperous place to live. When they got there, the town was being attacked by some bandits. Immediately Enzo pulled out his guns and began to help shoot off the bandits. This got the notice of the local sheriff, Tobias, who welcomed him and his ma to the town.

Tobias explained the Barton Gang had been known to terrorize Prosperity and many of the other towns in the area, then complimented him on his shooting skill. He asked Enzo what brought him to Prosperity, to which Enzo replied that he was looking for work. The sheriff said there was plenty of work around there, mostly mining and ranching, but asked if Enzo ever considered becoming a lawman. Enzo had to admit the thought never crossed his mind, but said he'd be interested. And so Tobias deputized him.

For fourteen years he served the good town of Prosperity as it's deputy, aiding sheriff Tobias in enforcing the law and running off bandits, all to take care of his ma.
