The Rreign is known to be a rather large creature. Though varying between individuals, the average Rreign is about the same size and weight as a small car. Not Solariex. Solariex is roughly the size of a large house. The Great Rreign, or Dragons, as some still call them, are descendants of the oldest stories; powerful, mysterious, secretive and rare, they live in isolation far from prying human eyes. Some have wrought terror and destruction upon towns and cities, while others have heralded bountiful harvests in times of dire need. But never has a tale been written of a Great Rreign choosing to live in the company of a human. Perhaps it has happened before, perhaps not; perhaps it just doesn't make very interesting storytelling when one could instead write about a Dragon Slayer fighting for his life against terrible fire breathing beasts.

But Solariex never fancied himself a 'terrible fire breathing beast'.

Solariex was Kay's first pet, met shortly after she first left home. He was from the Darkside and chose to leave with Kay when she accidentally stumbled, completely lost, upon his home one day. After recovering from her initial shock at seeing a Rreign easily big enough to pick her up and drop her off a mountain, Kay and Solariex got along very well. He acts something like an older brother to all the other pets. He's huge for a Rreign, easily big enough to fly Kay around on his back.
