Briany is a guardian angel. Or, well... she's trying to be.
See, Briany wasn't always Angelic. In fact, she was about as far from Angelic as it is possible to get. In order to redeem herself from the many misdeeds she committed in her past life, Briany tries to help people in trouble and shield them from harm. Problem is, she's not all that good at... well, being 'good'. Every time she tries to help someone she usually winds up making a huge mess. She'll often resort to less-then-scrupulous means to help her 'person in need', making their life far more catastrophic then it would have been had she never stuck her nose in. What's worse, all the bad karma she'd tallied up from her previous life keeps spilling over into this one, meaning everything she does usually ends in disaster. And on top of that, she doesn't even remember what she did in her previous life that was so bad! She knows she did horrible things, but because she can't remember them, it often feels like the whole universe simply has it in for her.
In spite of all this, she still tries to help people and she's kind of dejectedly optimistic that someday all the bad luck will finally run out. She'll learn how to be 'properly' good and she can be a normal Darkonite with a normal life and a normal owner, rather then a living vortex of calamity.
