Merlin has lived in many beautiful worlds. She's created living plants, unicorns, is immortal, and loves science. She's been called the world's greatest wizard in multiple worlds and has made a name for herself in science as well. She's a celebrity on some planets with a legendary legacy. In other worlds she lives quietly, growing her own food, and keeping to herself, though she almost always brings her unicorn with her. usually the townsfolk think she's a quiet witch which is fine with her, she's naturally introverted. she also takes her ghost hubby with her wherever she goes. the longer time goes by the less she visits with him but he's never forgotten.

she travels through space and lives on multiple planets. she immortal and creates a legacy of creating and also has many descendents. eventually she ends up on a space station for over a hundred years to create her own world. she uses it to make creatures out of myth. utimately her descendents and these creatures become protectors and guardians of various worlds. merlin knows how to shift time so can seem to be in multiple places at once. however her ultimate creation is clov, the perfect protector. but he is linked to the desctructive soul of the void. merlin leaves to help another planet and becomes stranded. when she can't get back to keep clov from dying kibeth annilhates everthing around her and vanishes.
as if that's a cue, the dark things she kept at bay seemed to creep in. it's good she made the protectors because they are needed. it becomes obvious they need more. stories told of the great clov and were passed down. some try to find him and find only a horn and questions. they begin to look for answers into where merlin went, how to find her so she can fix him or find someone that can. maybe she can make more and if she's that powerful maybe she can save them. but they don't realize that to find clov means to call kibeth back from the darkness she returned to.


In order to do her biggest work she had to leave her beautiful homes for the isolation of space. she thought she couldn't get lonely. she thought she'd always been a little alone. she'd always been the clumsy, nerdy, girl growing up, especially next to her amazing siblings. her parents were godlike and their children inherited that magic. her mother had had a golden voice and attracted fortune everywhere she went. she was famous so easily. she had vague memories of a busy city and a lovely house that had to have a fence built around it to keep out the papparazzi. but her mother didn't care about fame, she cared about her family. so they picked up and moved to house in the country and merlin finally started to feel like her feet were firmly under her. sadly, a few weeks later her twin brother was killed accidently when he was practicing alchemy by himself. Merlin was shocked, he'd been her first friend and she'd never had to imagine her life without him. after his death she kept to herself even more. but it was okay, she had her cats and her magic.

then came the centuries of watching her family, children, grandchildren, relatives and friends life their lives and pass on. and the world kept moving. she kept growing stronger in magic and poured herself into her scientific pursuits. She learned how to jump to other worlds and even bend through time. her passion for creation was insurmountable. she joined science and magic and became unstoppable. not that anyone tried to stop her. she was smart, clever, quiet, and had a shy smile. on some worlds she was near worshipped. each world she went to was different, some had more magic and technology than others. it took a long time but she eventually had everything she needed for her great work.

she was going to create a planet.

she terraforms a planet, prash and creates the creatures in it. some of them she brings from other worlds. she continues to work on them and the world as it grows. it takes centuries to build it. she is able to use her magic to bring her own descendants to help her with it. they bring many of the animals and plants to other worlds including one where her family lives. she creates dragons and gryphons and giant wolves. she gives them to her family to protect the worlds and places they live in. she creates a legacy through magic and gene manipulation. zombies, deviant vampires and evil werewolves become more frequent and the creatures are used to kill them if needed.

it feels like over time her connection to people seemed to waver. she still held her own family in the highest regard but she knew they could and would continue without her. and if they didn't,, she could always find her descendants on other planets or go back in time and take a child if she wanted. they always trusted her implicitly. after all she could give them everything they wanted and they could leave at any time. she had so many children of so many species. she'd made sure she had one of each kind in her kin. over the centuries she'd combined the best of the magical bloodlines. she had many secrets. one of which is that she was immortal due to a vampire bite that she had tried to 'fix'. she had only partially removed the curse and had never been able to recreate it since. not that it mattered too much since she could do similar with magic and potions. but it was curious to be sure.

she was in the castle tower of Grimistaire looking out over the sorcerers bluffs on a yet another planet. she had been on this one a long time. or at least as far as they knew. she had great grandchildren on this planet. little ones that were growing up hand in paw with their creature partners. this planet's magical flow was one of the most intense she'd ever come across. the other two she knew of where on more civilized planets, and had steady flows that were harnessed for the community. this one was erratic and stormy. huge gusts and gales of wild powerful magic that would surge and soar. it had a steady, if low baseline compared to some worlds but it also had several unique anamolies that piqued her interest. she was curious.

she was glad she had stayed because these people needed her help. monsters and zombies roamed and they had little of the defenses of more magical worlds. they had magic users but with less technology to facilitate they were struggling. She thought about leaving them but the rush of wild magic called to her. Curiosity always won. And so she had stayed long enough to prove herself and her magic to some locals and create some buzz. then she left and came back with enough family and supplies to make a difference. within no time at all they had risen to the ranks of knights and guardians. they recieved accolades from royalty and were given a place of importance. when she first arrived there was much dissention between the different magic users which she tried to navigate as best as she could. she was not into politics, she just wanted to learn.

it took 150 years but eventually there was peace. and fifty years after that merlin was experimenting more than she ever had before. she had brought as much scientific equipment that she could and had refitted the old castle. that strange feral magic still called to her. it was so potent at times that it would boost many of her experiments in ways she sometimes couldn't predict. it was fascinating. and now she was on the verge of something great.

she had created the perfect creature, the perfect companion and protector. she just needed to animate him and give him a soul. she could feel him out there, she swore. she had to wait until the timing was perfect, until the moon was full and a wild storm raged magically. it was the biggest they'd ever felt. she used her equipment and magic to open a hole in the universe. she felt the magic surge hotter and then felt the hole in space/time widen raggedly as it searched for what she called for like a magnet, and then it felt like it flipped upside down and inside out and turned ice cold. it was like death leaking through the gate, she could feel the room get colder and saw icicles forming. she heard exclamations of surprise and fear from rooms next to her so far and cold was it's reach. she couldn't catch her breath to stop the spell or move to disrupt it, she was frozen in place. tendrils of black and silver fog crept through the portal and something dark and menancing. something inhuman, the void incarnate. belatedly she thought, warmth, i need warmth. she was the only wizard who didn't need a wand and it saved her life that day. she managed to mutter the words as a rush of warmth rushed through her body and she hit the button to close the portal. in that instance she felt everything flip again, she hit the button, and fell to her knees taking deep breaths. she put her hands on her arms trying to warm them. she heard a noise behind her.

standing in the room was a dark unicorn. it was small and solid black with a silver horn and black fog seemed to drift from it's body and silver sparkles within it. it saw her and growled menacingly. another noise drew her attention. her creation lifted it's head. it began to move and she started to get up to go towards it but stopped. the black creature was totally focused on him. he brought his head down to sniff the nose of the other unicorn. very slowly she got up and tried to signal caution. she made her way over and helped clov get to his feet. he was huge, snow white and had a golden horn.

it would be many many centuries later when merlin disappeared. there was no one left to keep clov going. when he breathed his last kibeth caused such an explosion that grimistaire was destroyed. she had lost him and yet... could feel him somewhere just beyond reach.

many years later one of her descendants discovers clov and realizes that he could be used to save the world if only he could be brought to life again. so he begins the search for merlin.

merlin is on prash. the planet she created. she meant to come back for clov but could not. and also feared kibeth. and knew she could not have one without the other. it was her one and only regret, that she couldn't separate their souls. she left to try and find a way, she never meant to be away so long. she became trapped on prash. the magic had developed differently there and she changed species and couldn't find a way to get back. but she kept trying and never gave up.
eventually eriu,__ ,melusine and brightly find merlin. the divinities have to help open the portals.

Info on the Brimstones

A garden witch with a phd in science. Merlin is part of an elite team of scientists who are working to stave off evil through science and magic. This pet is actually inspired by my sims 3 character Merlins who is a witch and scientist. I unexpectedly fell in love with this character as I was playing, she is quirky, loving, logical, a huge nerd, and a workaholic who is always practicing magic, reading new spells, working on dna sequencing through science and she also gardens and creates new plants. in the game she's also raising a family of 3 kids with her hubby who looks like captain america.
