Goddess of the East

Psione, like all residents of Theede, was once a mortal human. Her ascendence into Theede, however, was quite different.

As a mortal, Psione was an extremely talented mage who always dreamed of reaching far beyond what people believed she was capable of. At seventeen, Psione was a student at the prestigious Pridd University, and it was here that she found a book known as Arcane Sorcery. The book, while old, faded, and nearly impossible to read, had detailed instructions on how a mortal could collect twelve loyal followers and enter Theede as one of the Gods. Although not much is known about the actual instructions in the book, it is known that Psione was able to read and follow them to the letter, and she and her followers arrived in Theede some 800 years ago.

Historians often argue politely about the whereabouts of this book now, how exactly Psione found it, how she went about picking her twelve followers (some of which still remain with her in Theede to this day) and other nit-picky facts like these. However, there is one thing they all agree on: it was certainly no coincidence that Arcane Sorcery fell into her hands. No one before her had ever used nor seen the book, and it has never been used since (at least not successfully). It was as if the book, the spell, and the magic were given to her, and her alone.

Psione is symbolized on mortal Pridd as a big-horned sheep. She is often associated with time and luck, and many a superstitious student carries a medallion bearing her symbol to both tests and first dates.
