Let's hope you prepared well because it's officially time for the Annual Masquerade Ball!! The dance floor is open to all those with masks until 11:59pm on June 11. The Masquerade Forums will close on June 16!

You can use the following sCode in your status and other places to have various people share a dance with you.

Want to shake things up and dance with someone completely random? Try your hand at the Mystery Dance feature. You have the chance to get more than just trinkets from these dances!

The most important thing (other than wearing comfortable shoes) is to have a mask on. After all, this is a Masquerade! You won't be able to request or accept dances without a mask. Any item with the word 'mask' counts towards this, no rarity requirements. In need of a mask? Stop by Migrating Masks to restock a few fashionable masks from previous years or try to grab a newly released mask!

How many times can we put mask in this news post?

After you accept a dance, you will receive either Steamworks Trinkets or Lounge Trinkets as a parting gift. The Lounge Trinkets can be used at the Libertine Lounge where you can take a break and fill up on delicious foods and drinks. The Steamworks Trinkets will allow you to purchase a wide range of goods from the Steamworks Menagerie.

This is the only wave of items for BOTH shops. Enjoy!

Keep an eye out for the dastardly Boudewijn while dancing. If you manage to win a duel with him, he'll be forced to give you a bag of trinkets. Don't worry; he won't actually kill you in a duel or anything. Maybe slightly maim. Nothing a good drink can't fix.

You need to visit the dance floor after accepting a dance to find Boudewijn.

Last but not least, there are two avatar borders you have a chance of getting while dancing. The Steamwork Masquerade avatar border comes from using the Mystery Dance feature while the Dancing Rave Style comes from dancing with anyone you choose. These are not guaranteed, so you may have to dance a lot to get one.

One of the first items on my todo list right now is rewriting our registration flow, and bring it into the same backend system as our authentication / login. It turns out, that's the easy part! Making sure that it opens up into a good experience for the rest of the site is much harder. One of those first experiences is choosing your initial wardrobe outfit from a selection created by our artists.



Right now, when you go to the wardrobe for the first time you're greeted by this page 🥺. Even if these completed outfits weren't a broken image, they feel a little lackluster compared to what you can build in the wardrobe system today. That's where you come in!

Contest Rules

- Entry must be submitted to this thread by using the [*outfit="*"] tag. Create the outfit in the wardrobe, save and post here using the code.
- One outfit entry per user
- Must have a top, bottom and shoes, please make sure the avatar is covered :P
- Should not cost more than 150,000sP total in user shops, meaning no custom wearables and only items that are available for purchase
- Contest ends on 5/31, so get those entries in soon

Otherwise, go wild with accessories and creativity! Remember that a theme of some kind will make it more likely to be a winner, something to stand out from the other entries but be appealing to new users seeing the wardrobe for the first time.

- Every entry gets a participation prize (Fashion Star Sticker), as long as they meet the requirements above (please submit real entries only, we have to go through and judge them 🙏)
- We will choose up to 20 outfits (and potentially have them rotate on the page in some way), each winner will get 2,500CSC

Hello, everyone!

Thanks to some helpful users, I've been looking into a less-loved feature. The trapped minions. In the spirit of communication, here are some current and future changes.

Throughout May, you might notice the bubbles have a higher chance of popping. Before an hour ago, the chances for a bubble to pop and give you a minion was ridiculous at 1/100 chance. I'll adjust throughout May to find a good spot where it's not too common or rare for you to pop a bubble. Why?

In June, I'll adjust the code so you can get minions of rarities outside of 1-99 as well as 1-99! Those are the only rarities that will have the minion follow you home. There are a lot of cool minions outside of those rarities that we'd like you to have a chance at. That's why I'll first find that sweet spot for how often a trapped minion will be released to you. Don't want those super rare minions to become too common after all!

To clarify some things:
:star: June will mean you'll get some extra minion rarities in addition to 1-99 minions.
:star: We won't be adding cash shop minions as a potential prize (other plans for those friends)!
:star: We will be changing Major Drills for the next few days not to ask for you to feed trapped minions. This will go into effect at midnight on the 14th.

You have until the next monthly collection is released to get these challenger summoners from the Cash Shop. They are were all released in May of previous years. Note: The Fruit Punch Summoning Feather is a Spring based challenger and will stick around March, April, and May.

We're still having issues with images ( :( ), but Keith is doing what he can with Amazon to bring them back! Unfortunately, we can't add the monthly collection because the artists can't upload items without breaking.

Due to the image issue around the site, we are going to be postponing the Monthly Collection. Hopefully, the artists will be able to upload their (hilarious) items tomorrow without breaking so we can get the collection out!

Hey everyone - we're aware that some images around the site aren't loading again. We're working on getting them back to working as soon as possible.

After the last time this happened we were given guarantees that our account wouldn't be unfairly suspended again (which it has been) based on bogus / trolling reports. Now that it has been, we're going to start the search on new providers.

The difficulty is that this bucket is where we've put every Subeta image (artist uploads, avatars, avatar wearable images, item images, all of it!) and it's very scary to move those around, but it's clear we've got to do it. I'll provide some updates on this soon (we have options, they're all just a little more expensive than amazon) after we've got the images working again.

I'm really sorry and understand frustrations around this. We've seen this issue get resolved in ~24 hours in the past.
