From what I've heard, avbljf, the staff, or atleast some part of it, want the pets expressions to be ambiguous so people can decide the personality themselves-- they don't have to be happy pets.

Well new Canis is really, really cute but... I don't know, I guess I'm so use to old one, with it's big fluffy feet. ^^ But new is ok too. <3 May the best one win. ^^

I really like the Canis we have now best, (it's the whole reason I joined)
Rah, I'd really like to say thank you for being so understanding to those users who had issues with the redraw. You're so considerate and easy to talk to... potentially one of the best staff artists on the site.

nod looking forward to it, Rah, I've always loved your art. Though I'm annoyed with the general trend toward expressionless pets, I get the point of it....it just seems like a rip for all the 'common' colors that you have to have something special (ie expensive) in order for your pet to have a "personality". But that's a rant for a different time and place.
oops, double post.

but seriously, the old one needs to stay. It's 1000 v 1300 for the new one, but if you factor into this that the majority of the new voters just vote new for the heck of it, old wins.

Tought choice really. I voted for the old one, but mainly because I prefer its eyes and general facial expression. It looks totally gleeful.

I prefer the new ones legs, ears, tail and chest hair, so very almost prefer that.

Either way I guess I don't mind too much. Both are absolutely beautiful, and I can't ever see myself owning one anyway cos there are too many other pets that are far superior in my eyes. Who needs a fluffy bunny when you can have a scaly beast?!

I HAVE REDRAWN THIS AGAIN - So you can stop worrying if you don't like this one :p I've put all the changes in place, hopefully you'll like the new one!
The new one looks cute, but I personally prefer the old one. It's so bouncy and full of life, and bunnies are always on the move. I don't like the pose of the new one as it simply looks too boring; Pets were meant to move, not stand there motionless.

Oh My Goodness!!! I love it! It's so cute! And I don't see how people think that the canis is part dog part rabbit, it seems full blown rabbit to me.
Rah-kins has updated the bunny-dog! xDD How did I know this was coming?
*huggles*
Well, as usual, Nataku must open her big mouth now and say a couple things, because she lacks the sense to know when to shut up =)

1. omg EARS! FLOOFY! Just - so big - and cute - and, wow, we know know it part rabbit alright xD

2. Toes - could be bigger. As has been said at least fifty times and I'm sure you're sick of hearing it by now. Rabbits have big feet, not tiny ones. After all, if you were hopping and running around like a rabbit, wouldn't you want big feet to balance on?

3. Tail. is. a. cotton. ball. That's not a bad thing, its cute, and floofy.... floofy is my word for the Canis xD One thing though, the black line going through the Canis' tail, dividing the uppe from the lower, could that be made less.... bold? What's the word... it seems very strong, abrupt... I think the tail would look a little less divided if the line was removed, made thinner, or made some other color.

4. Canis is Rabbit-Dog correct? And the legs are supposed to be canine? Then, please, pretty pretty please, make the legs longer. This is a terrier - Canis running around right now, and that makes my eye twitch xP
Besides, as I can't help but say with my old rant, if it's name is going to be "Canis" it should have at least some canine features. Otherwise it just makes no sense. If its supposed to be all rabbit (which, as I believe you've already said, it wasn't) it should be called a "Lupis" or something of the sort....

I'm voting new. I think its cute and the ears = love, and I trust Rah to be the awesome artist that she is and tweak all of the things that the users have mentioned and make the Canis even more loveable. =)

Also, just remember I have psd files to all of the newer canises, namely the hydrus, reborn, bloodred and spectrum. So I can change ALL minute details on those Canises as well, to match this one.
When you look at this new canis besides the uniquely posed ones (Example Angelic/Bloodred) Most of th kinks work themselves out

Like the ears, good pose, but the bottoms are way to huge and if left like that then all the other canis colors not going through the revamp would look out of species.

I like the rounded paws more, but they do look a tad small. The eyes, honestly, bug me alot. They seem just.. drawn on or something. Like I get you wanted expressionless but it kinda comes off as dull. And I do agree they should be more triangle set instead of circles.

It's a very pretty drawing Rah <3 But I did have to vote for the old Canis even though I love the new one very much. I am repeating what a lot of people have already said but I think the biggest thing it's the new one is a very standard pose whilst the old one had a sense of movement and activity to it which is why I have a Canis.

I voted for the new, because I've been aching to see a redrawn canis to catch up with how pretty all of the non-standard-pose colors are Although, I do have a few small crits with this. I personally love the huge ears and the small paws, and the pose has a lot of potential energy to it--he looks very curious, like he's come over to sniff at something, but will bolt as soon as it moves, which seems VERY rabbity to me and has a lot of personality in it. Something about the face gets me, though; I think the shape of the eyes makes him look a tad chubby in the cheek area, and the nose is too small in relation to the face, which makes the smile seem more....worried, I guess...than jovial.

Personally, I would make the eyes slightly more like rounded triangles, and keep the pupils/irises the shape they are--having the eye and the inner-eye be the same shape makes him look kind of....hypnotized. I'd make the nose just slightly larger and maybe a little more triangular and less buttony. And I agree that the chest fluff could be floofier, especially because the line of the chest doesn't seem to follow through to the line of the belly, which makes him look more pot-bellied than adorably-chubby.

But aside from those very small alterations, I actually really love this. Beautiful work as always

I accidentally voted for the new one. NO!

I love the old canis, its better in many simple ways, simply, it takes up more room in the 200 x 200 px image, and this one has tiny feet, that really dont appeal to its body.

After looking pretty closely at this new canis, I've noticed something about the main body.

If I'm right, if an animal has a fluff on it's chest, it's over it. On this new canis, if you imagine it with out the fluff, the chest doesn't connect right to the main body. It would very flat then go into a wide circle for the belly.

It's late at night, so it is possible for my eyes to be messing with my head. But I just took a real good look at it and that part stuck out to me.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, Rah. xD

I have to agree with mythica's and Flare's opinion on having a leaner body... I own a rabbit, and have before in the past as well, and they definitely have a more lean look once they start hopping around (I know they can look like they're chubby sometimes because of how the sit XD it's still so cute though). I suppose for these reasons, and some other ones that others have already pointed out, I voted for the older version. Don't get me wrong, it's some great art, just not what I personally like.
I love this revamp. The small paws, big ears, and the overall pose appeals to me.

Though, the tail looks like it could use some fluffing...or a bit smaller, but I'd pet it anyway. X3 But, the old canis was never a favorite of mine. Maybe the positioning, or the fact that it seemed less 3-D-ish.

And Tracy, I understand what your saying. I've owned three rabbits, though I currently only own one and can speak for her- sometimes their stomach does get a bit pudgy, but no matter what their fur does make them look bigger. I find nothing wrong with the size of the revamped canis.

i like them both the old one was so happy and entergetic the new one is cute i'm not shere about the ears though.

Tracy, I've had three pet rabbits, and they were well-fed, and lean. They only look fat when they're sitting down all bunched up. Under all that fur, they're quite fit. >___> Not to mention more canines are thin as well.
It looks like the Angelic one, which is cute but....I prefer the old one just because well....well because the old one had a longer like body. Like its up and ready to go. The old one looked entergetic....er. This one looks round..ish. It's cute, but I much rather like the old one. Though, kudos to the drawer its really nice work.
I did not mean the old Canis was anorexic but what I mean people are all saying this pet is fat that pet is fat etc. Most bunnies are fat. Yes I know the Canis is part dog. I think that tail is very dog like.
I find that this one's better then the one we have now. To me there is such a thing as too cute. I also feel that this one is better drawn then the one we have now. Or do I think this because I like this one better?
