If we recognise talent, the staff has in the past approached users regardless of whether applications are open or not at the time, to ask a potential staff artist if they're interested in applying. :3<br />

I wouldn't worry too much about applications no longer being accepted by the time you come of age. :3 We do scout about the Imagination Station a bit, some of us. Some of our current artists only applied after being pushed and shoved into doing so by those already on staff. xD

I think 40 would be easy. I draw artist cards all the time and to just make a basic outline with details and such only takes 5 minutes. it's the painting that would take me 5 hours but you of course don't paint, paint on the computer, <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> cutting a lot of time I'd hope.
I've been trying to get on the staff artist team for almost two years... Subeta is the reason I bought a vector program and have been learning how to cell shade. And now I can't apply because I'll be 18 in two months. I feel terrible.
But CINNA, I wasn't even talking about you. ;-;<br />
I'm not out out to make enemies. Haha, nevermind. I guess I am? But i'm just cross considering people just dont want to follow rules anymore, that's all. I wasn't even talking about your post. Nothing wrong with yours, cause I got what you meant. :3

It can still hurt really badly wanting to draw for the site, and ending up having to wait years. xD Seriously, that's how I feel right now. Those of you who got into staff before DNA turned 18 were lucky.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to complete the 40 images quota each month. :3 Especially once you've managed to find a method of item/pet/character drawing that suits both you and your program(s) of choice perfectly. :3<br />

A lot of our current artists who have been around for a few months or years are able to exceed their quota on a regular basis.. which is helpful during busy periods, such as Christmas and Halloween. :3<br />

Those of you disappointed you can't apply because you're not yet 18, don't fret. :3 You've got more time to get more practise! C: By the time you can apply, you'll be more than well prepared! C:

And by the way, just adding to my original post so that I dont get sobbed on by angsty teens... I'm not telling everyone under 18 off. only the people who are like. totally oblivious and suicidal over the whole thing. xD
Guys, for those of you complaining about the 18+ rule, saying it's legal for people under 18 to work legally? Don't actual jobs have rules you MUST follow when working there, or even simply applying? Does Subeta's rule of being 18 or older not apply as a valid and real rule to you guys? Sheesh. I'd enter but I know my art is crap, so good luck to everyone else entering. To all the whiners, COMEON. this is one battle you will not win by sniveling over. x_x

I don't think I will apply, but if you were under 18 and had a legal work permit, would you still be considered? Or does that fall under "no exceptions?" :/

On the hat thing Lily, every new color counts as a new item. So if you make a hat in 6 colors, it counts as 6 points. I hope that answers your question and good luck ^^

Well, it's -legal-, but you have a whole other can of worms, and then the rules change in various locations. Some places let you work at 15, other at 16, and some jobs can't be done by minors at all.<br />

And then you have to have breaks, can only work limited hours, if you work after a certain time the employer gets -fined-. I see easily why Keith doesn't want to work with that.

Isn't it legal for people who are 16 to apply for jobs? and even at 15 with parental permission and the whole work permit which i know keith does not want to handle, but still it is perfectly legal for a 16 year old to work, maybe not as many hours as someone who is 18, but its totally legal.<br />

To bad im a MS Paint artist. Im more pixal loving. Photoshop is harder for me since I hardly ever use it. Oh well. C: Good luck to anyone applying! Also to those complaining.. Do stop whining about being to young. No offence but there is legel reasons for the age requirements you know. Your day will come someday dears! Chin up! ^^
