I would just like to add a sense of urgency to the earlier news post. Earlier in the year, as posted in the news, we had a security lapse that resulted in user account information being released to the internet.
This was caused by a type of attack called a MySQL Injection, which also resulted in things like NPC accounts being taken over, and things of that nature.
Now, since that happened we have requested four times for you to change your passwords in various mediums. Today we asked again.
There has not been another exploit, there has not been another breach of security. The same exact list of user information is floating around, and users who did not change their information the past four times they've been told to, are now paying the price.
So, one more time. If you have not recently changed your password, I am asking you to please change your password. I'll make an ultra cool free gift everyday for a week next week, if everyone makes an effort to protect their online identity. I promise!
We aren't just trying to make your subeta life hard by remembering a new password, we are trying to make sure that all the work that you've put into your account isn't lost.

I saw the list, I was horrified to see how very many names were on it. While I think it's great that the staff IS helping people get their stuff back I can't help but wonder why it wasn't a more serious sounding post in the first place...
I changed mine as soon as we were told the 1st time but I did just change it again to be sure.
Should have told us this the first time. When MBIF asked us to change pw, I did...back to the one I had four months ago.
See... This is why I prefer Subeta over other pet sites.
Because unlike those others, the Subeta staff actually helps their people rather then to think 'Meh' and just discard the tickets.

I think it's great that staff takes the time to warn us on such things. When they do, we should know that there is a good reason for it and follow their advice.
