I’m in search of myths and legends harking back to the beginnings of Subeta, those half-forgotten stories a grandparent might have whispered in your ear while gently lulling you into sleep. And tales of bravery and adventure too of course - variety is the spice of life after all! Although the spices of Fireside are also quite lovely; I’m quite partial to cinnamon myself. But I digress.
So please, if you have a spare moment or two to gather up an old tale and write it down for me, I’ll be ready to accept submissions in about a week and get started on turning them into a proper collection. Let’s work together so all Subetans can enjoy sharing some new tales from around the globe this Fireside!
How to Enter
Write a short story about a NEW Subeta myth or legend for one of the following categories:
- Celestial beings (Sun/Moon/Stars)
- Water (Ocean/Rivers/Ponds/Rain)
- Natural Disasters (Volcanoes/Hurricanes/Storms)
- Nature (Plants/Animals/Geography)
- Magic (Spells/Charms/Curses)
- Supernatural (Spooky, Unnatural, Unliving)
1. Story should be 600 characters or less
2. Please keep story content to a PG level to help keep entries as reader friendly as possible.
3. Enter once Alexander opens up submissions! (This will be in around a week’s time, and submissions will be open for another week after that.)
4. One entry per person.
5. Users will get to read and vote for their favorites!
Prizes
12 lucky winners will have their entries used in Alexander’s upcoming storybook collection and will receive a complimentary copy of the entire set of books. All participants will receive a storybook themed to their entry category and a special forum title.
All prizes will be attainable after the contest ends, and the winning stories will potentially be used as inspiration for further content in the future - so please don’t submit something you wouldn’t want to be used!

We will not price match items purchased before the Black Friday sale. Don't mistakenly buy something before the sale expecting to be refunded the difference!
Custom Wearables will be discounted 25% off of their listed price! In most cases, the CW creator will still get the same commission they would normally get, but if an item is priced where the commission would be larger than the amount paid for the item, the CW creator will only receive the amount paid for the item instead. This is so a base 500 CSC item cannot be priced at 10k CSC, giving a commission of 9500 CSC with only 7500 CSC paid for it, for example. In that case, the CW owner would only receive the full 7500 CSC payment instead.
As we've mentioned previous years, these are no longer included in the Black Friday sale: pet slots, pet name changes, username changes, and pet overlays. As per usual, monthly collections, weapons, and CS challengers will not be discounted.
Glass figurines, Johnny Misfit, and Ruby Lee will retire from the Cash Shop at the end of Black Friday.
The following themed sets will move to the Themed Set Vending Machine after the sale: Gyrephon and Desert Bone Garden Fairy set.

Black Friday will not be starting today. We want to get Fireside out first, and there were a few issues with adding items over the past few days. You might’ve seen an item or two Fireside related pop up in the Item Directory the other night and then disappear, that was because I made them 'staff' rarity after realizing things weren't adding correctly. We’ve pushed a lot of changes, and tested with those delicious forum shop items, so I feel confident that things won’t break for y’all.
What’s that mean for start dates?
Black Friday will start THIS MONDAY. It will end on Monday December 9th. Everything from the previous post about Black Friday, like retirements and what isn’t on sale, are still correct.
Fireside will start tomorrow! You might see items added around midnight tonight, but the event itself will begin during the day tomorrow. Tomorrow’s news post starting Fireside will have all the information you’ll need about the holiday this year (end dates, how to unlock that gosh darn bonfire thief challenger, etc).
We’re truly sorry that everything has been delayed more so than usual. Y’all have been very patient with us and we appreciate it. <3
Reminder that Luminaire will not be changed at all with Fireside running into December. You will still get 31 days of gifts from Melody and enjoy the Luminaire festivities… while also enjoying a nice bonfire.
