Challenge the Panzer Hydra!
Hello, everyone! I'm sure by now you're all drunk and having a great time, but hopefully not so drunk that you aren't up for a bit of battling fun.
Over at Yun Enterprises, I've spent years now designing the various steamwork pets. But with each passing year, there are fewer and fewer pets to design, and soon I'll run out of them entirely! I'm not one to sit around idly, and while it's true that there are still some pets to work on, I wanted to give myself a challenge this year. And my challenge can also be your challenge, if you think you're up to it.
So please, give a big, warm welcome to the Panzer Hydra! You can face off against my newest creation in the Battle Coliseum. You'll start off against the single-headed version, and if you defeat it enough times you'll earn yourself an achievement and way to unlock the three-headed version. Defeat that one enough times to unlock the next, and keep doing that all the way up to the final, the toughest, eight-headed Panzer Hydra!

These challengers will show up in the Event tab! They will no longer be available to battle after Masquerade, so make sure to use your medals while the event is still going on.
Note: We do have a plan to release items that are like the medals (same image, different name) for those that want them for treasure chests etc so no need to keep suggesting it. We’re also looking into doing this for some account bound items like the Meat Slab items. :)

Met my match at 7 heads. Still beat that twice though! I'm moving up! (Very slowly >.<)

Thank you so much for this. I'm not strong enough yet for the last hydra but all of this is so cool. I hope these challengers would return next year (is there even a chance? :D ) I might be able to beat the eight-headed one then.
I managed 5 wins against the Five-Head Panzer Hydra with my Kurama. That's as far as I get...

Managed to get ten wins on a mid-T9 pet against the five-headed panzer hydra, I probably won't have a chance against the seven-headed one with my current battle set l ma o

Does anyone have the stats of the Hydra past the 5-headed one? I could slay Mr.5 without difficulty, but don't want to waste my medal if I know I'll have no shot at the next one. (Since I believe there'll be one more between 5 and 8).

Managed to get to the 5 headed one...but sadly my pet's health is not even above 1000 so we are stuck here... we did our best to defeat it though TT_TT
Unfortunately, the 5 headed hydra really is too strong for my T6 battlepet. Will they be back next year? I would really like a shot at the items : D

opinion on drops: neat, look at that lil' necksnake, so adorable.
Opinion on boss stats: ... wh aT why does it jump from 25 base to 750? Am I reading these comments right??

That's... like... seven kinds of ridiculous. Why does getting two extra heads increase its stats literally thirty-times over?? (And 80x the one-head's base stats in the next iteration, with five heads?)
I wanna get some of those items so much, but... I'm only just slowly working my pets towards tier 5... so I guess we'll just. stop bothering.

I am a battle newb, and I am wondering why when I try using a truth serum on this challenger, the weapon I "steal" isn't available for me to use?
I cannot say how much I adore the artwork of the Hydra - so shiny ,
The one thing I don't really understand though is: Why do I win a Tier 11 weapon from a chellenger that I at least need a Tier 12 for, if not more? It's always like that it seems.

A tier 6 pet and I can't even beat the third challanger once. I really wanted those hydra scales. :c

While I love this challenger, got up to 5 defeats on 5 heads so far, but really hoping for steamwork Ghostly ;-; Welp, maybe next year. Still, pretty cool and fun challenger so thank you ! XD

I am such a big sucker for sleek, high-necked tops like this... And yes, I am avoiding calling this a turtleneck. Is it a snakeneck ?

Interesting there isn't an achievement for beating the very final stage 10 times, but that might be a place to put the trophy medals in :)

@Speiro (like seriously it took me an hour to get the achievements to work tonight and I still managed to break the one for like three minutes, they're coded for the old system and it's just A MESS so if we did something else with them it would mean more coding than just having an item unlock because that's easy at least)
@Amber - The TC issue seems to come up every time there's an achievement prize that unlocks a challenger. Would it be possible to cut out the middle man make it so earning the achievement automatically unlocks the next challenger? We have achievements that reward forum titles and site themes, so it seems like it could be feasible.

@Edge five heads/third hydra: HP 3000 / STR 2000 / DEF 2000 / SPD 1500 (spikes to 6k HP at ten wins, dunno about the rest but it was a slog to get through)

@Satyr We might have knock-offs elsewhere later! You guys seem to like the medals WHO KNOWS.
@Muerte These items aren’t account-locked. So people could actually sell the item if they wanted to.
And we haven’t said we won’t do a knock-off etc of it. All I’ve said is these were made this way on purpose. THERE ARE STILL MANY DAYS WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL COME

Given that the heads increase by two each time on the challenger, there is a serious lack of "cut off one head, two more shall take its place" in the flavor text for the medals that unlock the new challenger. I'll assume it's coded in there subliminally. It is Hydra, after all. =D
Does anyone know the stats for the 3 headed hydra? I have a tier 2 pet and I don't want to destroy my first medal if I can't even defeat the next boss.
