Adelain is infected with a virus supposedly created for controlling anger and aggression levels. Instead of doing so, it causes the victim to be full of irreversible rage. Thus, they viciously attack the nearest non-infected being, either killing them or transmitting the disease through bites or bodily fluids such as saliva and blood.

However Adelain has a natural immunity to this, therefore labeling her as a carrier. Carriers are still able to infect others, but they resist most of the virus' effects. She still has a sensitivity for blood - sending her into a small frenzy when detected. Adelain's savior are her eyes, which are heterochromic. This trait counteracts about 87% of the virus, lessening uncontrollable violence.
