So, picture this: I\'m adjusting some of the inner mechanics of the zapper, because, hey, continuing to be the one and only Ultimate Pet Zapper takes work. It\'s your normal science and mechanical stuff, all wrenches and, uh... screwdrivers. That\'s what they\'re called, right? After a couple hours of making changes that did not, in any way, involve me losing a bunch of zapper bits and pieces, I\'ve got these things running around.
Honestly, as far as experiments go, these minions are pretty much a failure. They\'re little and don\'t drip enough at all, but I guess some of you may like them. I\'m not just going to hand them out, of course, but if you come by the Ultimate Pet Zapper you may get lucky and have your pet\'s boring old minion turned into one of these brand new not-as-boring ones.

We are pushing a soft release of a new High Scores system. The largest (and most painful) issue we faced with the old system was that each game stored its high score data separately and in various different formats. This new system centralizes the data and allows for us to easily store and retrieve the scores - removing the stress of the current system and opening many more opportunities for new high score tables.
The first batch of games that were moved to the new system were the interactive/flash games and collections.
Here are some new features and notes:
More High Scores: Instead of showing the top twenty users - the tables will show the top thirty users.
Score Updates: High score tables are updated every hour or so. Please keep that in mind when checking the tables.
Monthly Resets: Some games will have their scores reset on the first of every month. A number of the interactive/flash games are on this system - allowing users to vie for a top score without having to beat out scores that have sat there for years on end. Longer term games (collections, cumulative scores, etc) will not reset.
Daily sP Reward: We are still finalizing details for a revised sP reward system. As of right now - Subeta will continue to pay out the old way.
We'll be working on loading several more games and areas of the site soon. Stay tuned!

This new line of beautiful and not-at-all-terrifying leeches will suck away those excess stats and leave your pet slim and trim! Each type of leech removes two points of its specific stat. These leeches even work on capped pets!

We've resolved the bug that gave everyone the "your bites won't infect anyone" dialog when clicking on bite in the forums!

Hmm, I wonder where all the candy has gone this year...it couldn't possibly be inside this little sweetheart kanis, could it? That round belly does look rather suspicious. The sweetheart magnus surely would never be to blame for anything ever at all. Look at that face. I don't think you'd catch this guy dropping anyone off any bell towers.

Reischen has retooled the retooled Battle Quests, listening to the feedback from the community and making a few changes.
1. You now get EXP at the end of every fight! You still get more exp during the "boss" fights of level 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30.
2. You can skip one opponent per day, or two if you have a Gold Account.
3. You can launch yourself straight to level 15, skipping the first 14 levels but also all of the prizes that come with it. This will be a gold account feature in a month, but is available to everyone now.
Also after launching yesterday some things were fixed, including battle tokens and item prizes being rewarded again!
Hey everyone! We're currently investigating a major hack involving user shops that includes duplicating items. Once the user shops are back up we'll enable a 25% sP buff to quests for the next few days, I know some of you haven't done yours yet today!

Update: We're back! User shops have been turned back on and the bug has been patched. Nothing expensive was duplicated, and the user in question has been banned. All users quests have been reset and you have today and tomorrow with the buff :)!

A large BOOM dissipates throughout the Darkside. It appears that a building has been turned to dust! The original zappper, oh no!
Uh, whoops! Sorry guys, that’s my bad. Oh but hey, my experiment worked! Look at me, I’m all rejuvenated. Nothing like a bit of mad science to keep your body trim. Huh. I guess I used a bit too much energy though and destroyed the competition. Who would have foreseen such a completely accidental happenstance. cough Oh well, it’s not like that other guy…clawsion…terracoon? was really much use to anyone. Done you all a favor, really. It’s ok, he didn’t get caught in the blast! I totally saw him running away, probably gone to live in Riverside with the swampies. He did love those swampies.
Moving on, my zapper is much better anyway! The one TRUE zapper. Come visit it, I even upgraded it to have something I think is pretty fly if you like experiments as much as me. The EXPERIMENTS ONLY option! For just a small fee, that I will totally use to fund the making of MORE experiments, you can ensure that your zap is not wasted on lame /normal/ pets or stat gains or stuff like that. Experiments all the way! EXPERIMENTS FOREVER!
Oh, except I have these two duds for you today. I mean, some people told me they were super adorable or something but where is the fun in that? If you want super adorable there are plenty of normal subeta pets for that. I should be creating cool things that are oozing and dripping and have tentacles. I was going to call these failures and move on but I guess they can stay, if you people really do like abominations like these. Cute. Bleh.

Are you ready for the upcoming survival celebrations or are you missing a few essentials? This is your chance! Skitters and Louis L\'Amour have decided to open their doors to a few new suppliers and are now accepting applications! Get yours in before time runs out at 11:59pm Subeta standard time on the February 19th. At that point, the staff judges will go through and wheedle out the best quality items for the users to vote on over the weekend!
Rules:
- Users may submit up to three designs for consideration.
- Item images and names should be themed towards either the Love Shack or the Zombie Den.
- Must be original items (no tributes, no recolors of already existing items, etc).
- Submitted items must adhere to the Custom Wearable rules and guidelines.
- Commissioned art is eligible, but should be credited to the artist(s) in the submission notes.
- Facial features are allowed for this contest!

Have a lot of balloons from the Balloon Hut you want to get rid of? You are in luck because Bibi and Lilah from The Balloon Hunt are asking for balloon donations to keep their stand open!
The only requirement is that the balloons are actual balloons and were items once available from the Balloon Hut. Don’t have any? Not to worry! Play a few rounds of different carnival games to win a balloon or two to donate.

We're having a lightning quick contest to see who can make the best avatar with one of the items above! Your choices are Experimental Tentacle Salve, Experimental Double Trouble Dowse or the Experimental Oil Tonic. Sharing an outfit is incredibly easy in the new wardrobe, you just follow these directions and copy the sCode to share on the forums. You can find all of your shared outfits here.
You do not need to own these items to share an avatar! This is based purely on your skill as a human avatar creator, and not the items you own. Click on the "all items" tab and search for the wig you'd like to wear, put it on your avatar, and click the share button after you've created the perfect avatar based around those items.

It appears that Experiments are the flavor of the month and Euclid has really been busy! He seems to have gone aquatic in his inspiration for this batch; maybe he's been researching in the Arctic Frost and deep seas? He has been rather quiet of late. Maybe this month will see him rejuvenated!

Sad news for balloon lovers everywhere: The Balloon Hut has closed down. Former shop owner Tiffanie has made a deal with game owners down at the Carnival that allows them to use some of her leftover stock as prizes.
There is no word yet on what will happen to the rest of the remaining balloon stock, but we can say that Bibi and Lilah seem eager to get their hands on it. Perhaps they'll be open for donations from charitable Subetans soon!
