Hello everyone! We’re looking to hire a part time community manager ✨. This will be a paid employee position open to US residents.

Over the years the entire staff has taken ownership over various aspects of communication with the community. That has led to fragmented responses that sometimes take days or weeks. Now, we’re looking to put someone in charge of those interactions and keep the flow of information going back and forth.

This advocate will take the behind the scenes details like what is being worked on and craft a communication strategy that keeps users informed and involved in what happens on Subeta.

Responsibilities will include frequent communication with players and working with the product team (creative + Amber + programming) to create a public roadmap. This advocate will help shine a light on the “low hanging fruit” that could make the experience on Subeta significantly better for users, and communicate back how those changes are made. Other responsibilities might include working with users to create user generated guides, or crafting official guides.

This does not mean that this will be the only communication between the staff and players — we still intend to be active on the forums and social media, but we will have a more solidified message crafted by a professional.

The goal of this position is to create clarity and trust on both sides of the coin and to give players more confidence in playing Subeta in the medium & long term.

Job Requirements:
* Knowledge of Subeta and the player base
* Flexible schedule: We aren’t sure how many hours this is going to be initially, but 🤞 it grows to full time with a focus on the community
* General internet skills: We communicate on Slack internally, but if you’ve used any chat software you won’t have an issue
* Excellent communication skills: This role requires going back and forth with users, collecting feedback and building trust with the community.

Nice to haves:
* Project management skills: We use Notion internally, and would use that to show users public documents on plans, roadmaps, etc
* Comfortable with ambiguity: Things move fast on Subeta (I know it doesn't seem like it sometimes) and that can require crafting communication plans while the site is burning down

Details
This is a W-2 position that starts at $15/h. We aren’t sure how many hours this position will take up, but anticipate at least 10-20 hours a week while ramping up.

This is a remote position, with schedule flexibility (feel free to work at 3am!) and a friendly team to work with. This position does not require any travel.

This position does not include benefits (health insurance, life insurance, etc), however we are investigating how to create a benefit pool as we grow the team again in 2021 and beyond.

I’ll be periodically adding more to it, but I am human and need sleep sometimes!

Remember that any free item is a good item. I’m adding items from all over the place (Melody, free gifts, restockables, retired items, cash shop, etc). Some things may not be worth as much as others, but it’s still free.

Hi everyone! I wanted to give an update on the authentication issues with New Subeta, since those who have this problem may be unable to view the forums.

Keith has been actively debugging this and has already resolved several parts of the problem. Right now, the issue appears to be that some users get automatically logged out of New Subeta too frequently, possibly hourly. This is happening even though the cookie is set to expire after weeks. Keith is actively working on this issue. He's using information collected from reports (thank you!), and he has also reached out to teams at ISPs we've had trouble with to see if that helps us out.

Workaround & Other Useful Info

If you are experiencing any of the following issues:

- Forum threads not loading
- Pages on "new.subeta.net" don't work/load correctly (including wardrobe, custom wearables, cosmetics, and monthly subscriptions page)

Please try going to https://new.subeta.net/ and logging in, and then reload the page you were trying to use. 99% of the time the page will load correctly after you do this. Please note that the username is case sensitive on the login form. Other than that, you should use the same credentials you use on Subeta.net.

If you need more help but cannot access the forums, please use the Ticket Center to let us know. This is the fastest and most certain way to get assistance from staff. You can also use tickets to share more information about the problem.

Finally, you can view Admin Post Highlights (and all admin posts) on those pages even if you can't load the forums. There is also a link on the news sidebar, "Staff Forum Posts" under "Check Out" section, for your convenience.

Arr, but thar be one last fly n’ the ointment. Somethin’s still lurkin’ about n’ causin’ a right ruckus. We found this accursed bit o’ tat, seems t’ be connected. Kick that knave in th’ aft decks n’ send ‘em to th’ depths fer good, then we’ll all splice the mainbrace when yer through!

Translation: Ah, so this fiasco was the work of an unrelated third party? I suppose we could overlook the destruction then, yes. Some Islanders came by and helped fix the mess. No reason to start a fight over spilled paint, especially with Keel Hauliday coming up. Esther came by and explained what’s been happening on the mainland. For once, I’m glad I was stuck at sea. We will remain diligent, hopefully this is the last we’ve seen of this evil spirit.

Miss Noijatat is feeling better. Rita and Anabelle are taking care of her and everyone is getting along. Unfortunately, there is still a problem. A creature is causing trouble. We found this Possessed Paintbrush in the Cash Shop, which may be related to it. Please take care of this minor issue and we shall celebrate with a round of drinks!
