We are testing out a new Ticket System, for answering user problems :D Instead of heading to the help page and sMailing a user admin, you'll now fill out a ticket and get help from someone online :)
There are categories for just about anything, when you try to create a ticket, so just choose one and try to be as clear as possible.
This should help cut down on the work of the UAs (Since a lot of people sMail every single one, and when they try to help they realize that someone else is helping) and it helps keep everything in one area. If a UA is having trouble, they can simply transfer the entire ticket to another UA (or a higher staff member, myself included) to help the user out.
This is not a place to report bugs, this is still where you do that. :D
Congratulations to Bloyru88 for winning a Glacier Potion in the Potion Lottery!

Oo-la-la! We know how quickly fashions fade (I mean, you're ALL wearing clothes that are so last season), so the Subeautique is proud to trot out their newest designer, Oh! Naturale, with their debut set, Ailuridae!
Of course, these adorable, exclusive sets for autumn are intended only for the most fashionable of fashionistas, and of course . . . are price tagged with that in mind.
Attention Artists!
After some discussion, User not found: dna, Keith and I have revamped your quota requirements. Effective September 1, 2008, your new quota is now a total of 50 points per month.
We have also recalculated the values of point tallies to make this new quota a bit easier to achieve. The new points system is as follows:
HUMAN AVATARS
base features eyes: 2 points each __recolors: 1 point each nose: 1 point each mouth: 1 point each hair: 8 points each
clothes unique: 2 points each recolors: 1 point each full backdrops: 4 points each
PETS
unique: 10 points each recolors: 5 points each
NPCs
5 points each
ITEMS - When doing item recolors, you are limited to no more than 8 recolors per item. Anything pet-colored themed, e.g., elixirs, plushies, beanbags, etc., is automatically exempt from this limitation. We also will not round up half points. Please make an even number of recolors.
donation presents/event items: 2 points each unique: 1 point each recolors: 0.5 points each
As you can see the value for donation presents and event items is more than a typical item. This is to encourage quality item production in a timely manner. Keep in mind only fifteen items go in a donation present, so if you want to take advantage of this arrangement, you'll have to get your items in early. Also, if an item is not chosen for a donation present, it will be valued at the unique item value of one point.
When User not found: dna and I have a special project or holiday event to announce to you, we will make sure to let you know if that item demand qualifies for a double point bonus. Keep an eye out for these if you feel you are falling short on meeting quota!
Monthly Bonuses?! Yes! Every month you go over your quota of 50 points, you earn 100 Cash Shop Credits for each extra point, up to a cap of 50 points (5,000 CS credits). Artists currently paid in either USD or CS credits are eligible for this bonus.
Floating Holiday This will probably be covered in How To Be A Subeta Artist soon, but you are each allowed 2 months off per year. You may not break it up into weekly increments or smaller. This system is designed to allow you to have two months per year when you are not bound by a monthly quota. These months can be taken whenever you choose, except from October to January, which is our busiest holiday season. No more than two artists may be off per month, so it would behoove you to ask for this time off in advance.
However, if you are falling short on your quota or something comes up and you know you will not make it, you may use these floating holidays as a ''Get Out of Jail Free'' card, again, only if two artists aren't already taking the month off.
We hope these changes benefit both Subeta and its users and you as an artist. If you have any feedback on this, please don't hesitate to contact myself or User not found: dna via sMail or post here. From now on this information can be found in the Art Reference forum, here. Other threads in that forum will be edited soon to reflect these changes.
Note: If you clicked on it a second time, and you didn't read the news post (click here if you didn't get the email) - please be nice and delete the items.

If you're a US citizen, and you are 18 or maybe just haven't bothered in the past, I'm asking you now to please register to vote. While it may seem like you can't make a difference with just one vote, you can. It shows that you have an opinion, and you care what this country (and how the world sees us!) does, and what person you feel can lead it most competently.
Below is a link to the Rock the Vote campaign, which has registered over 2 million young voters (including myself!) for this upcoming election.
I'm not trying to push any politics on you - just asking you to make your voice heard.
Congratulations to redheartpower for winning a Bloodred Potion in the Potion Lottery!

Hooray for Jack Cardale! He has been slaving away in the SAI for the past twelve hours working on a way to keep the site secure, and ... well. Actually work ;)
Lucky for all of you, Jack found a way :) Everything on the site should be working (And secure!) again :D
We want to let you all know that yes, we are aware of the current glitches that are occurring all over the site. This is including, but not limited to, quickstock, trades, auto-pricing, shop pricing in general, and forum posts.
Our top priority is currently the improvement and maintenance of site security, so please keep that in mind as you encounter these snags. We promise to keep you updated as to any major developments, and we will be past this soon enough.
As always, we appreciate you sticking with us. We can't wait to show you all the great things we have in store for the coming months.
*ahem* This is my first news post, so Hi. :D
And, a little tip for you! Are you sick of seeing all those little 'rnr's' in your forum posts? Instead of hitting enter when you are typing, you can use either sCode or HTML to insert a line break (you know, 'br')! Your posts will come out cleanly once again. If you don't know how to do this, I suggest Google-ing it, or asking a friend. :)
Out of the ashes of Subeta's recent turmoil rise the Reborn Tutani and Antlephore! Get 'em while they're hot!
The site is back up, yay! alx and I have worked for the past 24 hours to make sure that the site is protected against attacks like we had last night.
This is also a good chance for you to see the new, and more sophisticated backup system that we have. We've promised it before, and now we can literally rollback to 10 minutes ago (although it takes a good amount of time to rollback that much information. Literally GB worth of database information). If there is a problem at 12:17 (like last night) we can roll back to 11, or 11:10, or 11:30, or 11:40. Whenever we want.
Like I said on pownce, we are looking into a way to make the database restore a faster process, but at least we had backups to restore :)
On that note - yes, we had an open exploit last night. Luckily we had a backup to rollback to, and this also allowed us to patch that (and various other similar attacks) so that it doesn't happen again.
Thank you for your patience, it's a huge relief knowing that you guys don't hate us when this happens.
I'll be up for the next few hours just to make sure that everything is running alright and we don't have any problems. feel free to sMail me if you see anything odd :)
NOTICE: YOu may notice random s and other various weird symbols in forum posts, news comments, etc. This is just part of the new protection against this type of attack on SQL injection. We are now focusing on getting the specific areas of the site that have SQL holes in them fixed, and then we can disable this. I know, it makes things ugly :(
Congratulations to Sinnamon_Swirls for winning a Glacier Potion in the Potion Lottery!

We sent out an August Newsletter today, to all the users on the site via e-mail, with a link to redeemable items in it. We may be doing this in the following months, so make sure that your email information is up to date.
If you did not get this email, I will be sending it out again in 24 hours to those who didn't redeem it today, and hopefully you'll get it then. At that point, I'll also make another news post with a link that works for all users. :)
The reason I'm doing that is I'd like to get the kinks worked out with the e-mail system instead of just throwing up a link on the news post, so that we can bring back some older users as well :)
Congratulations to meiastar for winning a Graveyard Potion in the Potion Lottery!

Maleria has been causing problems for long enough! :( After finally having a throw down with her, she relinquished her hold over the Lost Password area of the site.
So if you have any friends who've had trouble getting on the site because they didn't have their passwords, this has finally been fixed, and email should be going out :)
Need a new fashionable jacket for autumn? Then head on over to the Clothing Rack! (You can never be to prepared for colder fashion. :o)
Decorate all your brand new school supplies with these amazing new stickers. :)
The new Chibi Ontra would like to greet a new day with you! :)
Hi all! This is another post about upcoming downtime. If you remember, we were upgrading our main database server in the past few days. Well, it's done, and it's ready to take over running Subeta from the backup database server.
We'll be making the switch tomorrow (the 20th) morning at 6 am Subeta time. According to our graphs, that's the time when the site has the least users on it, so hopefully the downtime will have the least impact.
Estimated time the site will be down is 45 minutes or so. This won't fix any bugs or make the site any faster, but it will help in the long run to make Subeta more stable.
Congratulations to Shibari for winning a Field Potion in the Potion Lottery!

Archie has finally opened the doors to the Reading Drive Store! Spend those hard earned points on prizes ;)

August 14, 2008
Hello everyone! We'll be taking the site offline in approximately 2 hours (4:30 pm subeta time) to migrate our database to our secondary database server, in preparation for some improvements to the main database server that will be taking place later this evening. Estimated downtime (barring any interference from that pesky Murphy and his Law) is around 15-20 minutes.
Rather than wait until tonight (which would push the upgrade back until tomorrow sometime) I decided to do it now, before 5pm when people start getting off work. I'm hoping this time won't be any more inconvenient than midnight - correct me if I'm wrong!
The actual upgrade is rather esoteric - we're moving our operating system install on the server from one drive to another. This will free up a lot of space on the "fast" drive that our database files are stored on. The recent downtime was caused by this "fast" drive filling up completely, thus, more space will make it easier for us to catch it nearly full and fix the problem before it overflows.
As always, thanks for your patience and understanding.
Seems someone left an empty bottle of sunscreen just laying around the free gift area :o.

It seems that Subeautique thinks the Peekaboo Pearlessence, Citrus Charms Ultra and Giselle Snowshoe lines have all gone out of style and thus have been retired. :( Aw.
This is my happy face.
After extensive grooming, the new Mortikings are now ready to go to a loving home. They're even available in the stunning Nuclear and Marsh varieties! While they are house broken, a large back yard is recommended and contrary to popular belief, they will get along with your Bovynes and Devonties every bit as well as they'll get along with your Velosotors.
...which is to say, not at all, but the stuffy people at the Mortiking Society wouldn't let us tell you that. :x Oh, my gracious! Was that out loud? My lawyer's going to have fun trying to get me out of this mess...
Congratulations to AnimeAngel151 for winning a Angelic Potion in the Potion Lottery!
August 11, 2008
The Subeautique is proud to present a new addition to the Giselle line, Kinkylove. Contrary to popular belief, this love costs a pretty penny (like anything from the Subeautique). ;)
Congratulations to Lollliiii for winning a Nightmare Potion in the Potion Lottery!

This just in. It is rumored that Subetan children everywhere are refusing to go to bed because of a Chelon in their closet. Sources tell us this is nothing over which to be concerned. Give your kids some warm milk, read them a fairy tale, leave the night light on and they'll be fine.
...wait. Did you guys just see that? I swear there's a flipper under my bed!
Congratulations to Ze_pea for winning a Cream Potion in the Potion Lottery!

The Mortiking would prefer you vote in the new poll the nice way, before he has to ... navigate you to the booth :)
It looks like Celesse and Iltallo are feeling more benevolent than usual. They've just provided the folks at Riverside Valley with this free gift for everyone!
Congratulations to pinkbee for winning a Lilac Potion in the Potion Lottery!

If you have the proper gems from the Coda Caves, Iltallo will now bless your Chelons!
Hi everyone, happy August!
I'm posting to let you guys know that at midnight subeta time tonight, we'll be taking the site offline for a few minutes to do some reorganization.
A few days ago one of our web servers suffered a crash. This particular web server is the one we use for programming Subeta, and also the one that ran the crons ("cron" is short for "chronological" and is programmer-speak for a script that runs according to a schedule. All timed events on subeta, like shops restocking, are controlled by crons.)
Anyway, we took the opportunity to reorganize our code a bit, making it a lot easier for programmers to code and test new features for the site. Some of our changes make it necessary to take the entire site offline for a brief period while we move things around.
I'd say the site will be down for 20 minutes or so, depending on how things go. Because we'll be moving around the code itself, there will be no "downtime" page; instead, your Firefox (you are using Firefox, right? and not IE? good!) will be unable to connect to Subeta until things come back up.
Congratulations to Shadow_Jaz for winning a Field Potion in the Potion Lottery!

The banker that we all know and love now has his own plushie in the Token Shop!
Some other items have decided to restock as well. :)
There is a new watch on the ... market and only one man has it - the Hustler. He assures it is made of real gold. ;)
With imperceptible changes, the leaves are starting to turn to the hues of fall--can you see the hints of gold, red, and orange yet? No? Well, that's okay; you can get some new August 2008 Donation Presents from the Cash Shop to help you enjoy the last month of summer.
