Work in progress!

We're going to be in for a bumpy ride for the next few hours, there will be some tweaks made and the site will likely continue to toggle between online and off.
Thank you for your patience while we work through these kinks, once this is complete we will be much faster and be able to handle things like events significantly better.

For those interested, the programmers have a maintenance update thread here:
https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/906295/Quick-PostMaintenance-Updates/1
In case you want to know what's currently being looked into and fixed.
@Soleta For those who had their bathhouse reset, file a ticket to have it restored.

Patience yes on both sides with some alerts not working, constant errors and the lag. Sure hope everything gets worked out soon so the site starts running smoothly. Appreciate all the hard work and looking forward to better days. Thank you for the updates.

Just want to say I always love reading the explanations by staff (and other knowledgeable users) WRT the code side of things. Currently in a two-man team facing similar annoyances with deprecated code and plugins to the point we've decided to rebuild everything in another framework ? Big love from one smol team to another, and don't lose too much sleep ?

Did bathhouse reset twice yesterday??? I lost my progress this morning, but I seemed to be up to date when I visited the site after the fixing ups. :(

Nowhere did I say that people with GAs shouldn't complain, where are (multiple) people even getting that?
I just found it funny that most of the half-dozen usernames I see doing nothing but complaining every time anything happens are GAs because if I disliked a site as much as those few people seem to I wouldn't spend money on it.

@Loten
Sorry to complain, but did you ever think that GA users are more vocal because we pay money to have our GA's? That because we are spending real-world money we do expect something a little bit better? And that we keep doing it because the features are what we want, and we can hope that by doing so we can keep the site going for longer and allow for those the site to be better?
Now personally, I never expected this downtime would be just 4 hours. Heck when they said they expected to be back up by 10am Subeta time on Monday I didn't expect it. Because in the past these moves have always had hiccups (through no fault of the Subeta staff, mind you!) and it's really just not plausible to expect a very small team to move 15+ years worth of data in such a short amount of time with no issues.
There are plenty of other games that have monthly or even weekly maintenance periods where the site/game/whatever is down 12-24 hours or more to fix things with no reimbursement if it's a paid service or to anyone who pays for a premium account like the GA's here on Subeta. We are insanely lucky Subeta does not have downtime like this very often, and that when they do they are willing to reimburse lost time for GA's. I'd rather see the site be wonky for a few days knowing that a) they're ditching Amazon for a more up to date, easier to use, and not so shady hosting company and b) this move will make it easier for the staff to work on new features since they won't have to spend so much time fixing the server's crap.
I 'complain' plenty, and hold the staff accountable when they screw up, but in this case I know it's not their fault because something like this takes a lot of time and whatever mess ups are happening are out of their control so they can't do anything but put out fires as they arise until the site is back to where it was and then can continue to move forward into something better.

Notice how it's always the same few users complaining? (Nearly all GAs, too, which is... odd, not sure why you'd spend real cash on a site you never have a good thing to say about, but you do you.) Hopefully the staff have noticed that as well and won't let a few miserable people get in the way of an overall grateful userbase. This was a mountain of work and you kept us informed all the way through, thanks guys :)

Only one comment about the Hair Salon Issue: the site got updated so hard it pulled our collective wigs

You have visited the bathhouse 1 day in a row!
Looks like the streaks got screwed up after all? Lol

I haven't read many comments, but I'm not getting any alerts for things right now. Not even for training or shop purchases.

Good luck, I appreciate staff's hard work and the site very much! Been here...dang, twelve years minus two days. I have lots of fond memories here of friends and lovely art, stories, and fun <3

Nothing I can really add aside from another thank you, and yes please staff take care of yourselves as well. :)

Thanks for working to make Subeta better!
I do have one question for the rest of the users. . . Has your hair disappeared from your HA? I'm not using a wig, I'm using the basic hair, and none of them show up for me right now. Is this a problem others are having?

I appreciate all the hard work over the past 2 days, just kinda bummed that I missed 2 days of quests since it was down all day yesterday and still not back up when I left for work this morning so had to take SPs out of my vault to pay for training. Hope everything is running well now.

@lsilven Oh man, the last time I made a kofi, it was pointed out that my kofi was breaking one of Subetas rules (I think the "No begging" rule?) so I quickly took it down. It was a fair point!
But, I really appreciate the sentiment. <3

How has the daily support goal at 6%? Who has managed to buy CSC in all this? I salute you.

We're aware of various issues with the forums: like edits and replies not going through/showing up. We're diligently debugging <3

Just wanted to add my thanks for all the hard work you're doing for us; seriously you all rock! <3
Don't forget to sleep and stay hydrated ;)

Hi everyone! You might have gotten multiple pings to the Site Updates thread. One of them is correct, the other has a broken link, and you might have gotten one or the other or both. This is due to some glitches I had to work out from my first attempt posting the topic (which produced a glitched topic that I deleted)
Anyway, you can read the actual topic here: https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/906295/Quick-PostMaintenance-Updates/1/#64152063
