FYI, how to create one of these lovely creatures:
1) Get a new pet or transform one of your current pets into a blob here:

How?
By from shops...
OR
Make one:
A) Obtain an
B) Go to Peka Glade at 8am or 8pm
C) Fill pitcher with glade water
3) Use the Glade Potion on your blob... voila, you're now the proud owner of a Glade Blob :D

Johnny Jump Up vs. Pansy
Johnny Jump Up are also known as wild pansies. The main difference is that regular pansies have larger flowers... thus this blob is based on a pansy ;)
Blobs can morph into different shapes, which can explain the non-blob look. However... there are other explanations. For example:
Blobs can pick up things, including seeds... so it's completely plausible that a seed germinates in a blob and both metamorphize into this adorable creature.
Certain seeds (e.g. basil) once hydrated have a protective slime (blob-like encasing). It might be that certain blobs were all along seeds with an outer coating ;)
They also make a great companion for Lilac blobs (which one of my pets is)

It reminds me a little of the alice in wonderland plants but creepier lol. Kinda has a menacing look to me. What are you up to plant?
