Just a quick update on the rules, especially for the forums. From this point forward, Caps and Punctuation rules are no longer standing around the site.
If you have received a warning in the past for either of these, it is now null. (It'll still show up on your preferences page, but it will not count toward being frozen in the future).

Oh thank god. Some of those rules could make profile editing a pain. Besides, despite the fact that I never really write in all caps, the rule seemed pretty totalitarian.

I don't really care, but it does get annoying when people type something and it makes no sense whatsoever and they put it all in caps lock.

I am going to tell you all now, that as a serious roleplayer and writer, the Subeta RPing forum wasn't "all that" to begin with. And really, why would it have any effect on that? I've never seen a person, even on Gaia, type a roleplaying post in all caps, or, for the majority, in caps. It doesn't effect literacy, and if you have a good roleplay, you're going to attract good roleplayers, no matter what the new rule.
I believe this lift was more intended for the Shoutbox, and the fact that many topics were locked for having "too many caps" in the title. personally, I quite like this new, er.. freedom.

All, I have to say about this, is please, for the love of all that is awesome don't get rid of the rule for the RP board, that's really all. Also I think this is mostly twords titles, and stuff. So they don't have to lock bourds with 50% or more caps any more. Though I may have to blow something up.

ok so punctuation may not be such a big deal but the CAPITALS is still like shouting and very annoying and rude. I really think that making it 'officially' ok to type like that is a bad idea. If there were a poll for such a thing I really feel people would be like me, against allowing it.

I think if the forums turn into a cesspool of all caps and nonsense words, Keith would have no problem re-applying the rule. But now that users have gotten accustomed to a nice, well maintained forum, that most likely wont happen. I'm glad he is lifting the rule, because of my personal beliefs of freedom, and because it most likely won't become a problem. Don't be scared!! freedom is a good thing.

I use caps....alot. It's just this impulse I have.I got a warning for it once, but now can use caps without in fear of getting frozen, YAEY!
