Have you come across an awesome pet profile, that has the perfect name, the perfect layout, and the treasure chest to match?
Now when you browse pet profiles there is a link to nominate a pet for the Pet Spotlight! You cannot nominate your own pets.
The criteria that we will be using for winners include:
1. Aesthetically pleasing profile
2. Well thought out story
3. Appropriate treasure chest
4. Appropriate minion
You will be alerted if your pet wins the Pet Spotlight. It will also get a notice on its profile saying that it has won the spotlight.

I like it! I don't really do much with my pets, but I know a lot of people do. Good to see some more emphasis on pets; they were kinda lacking. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" /> I'm just wondering (like a few others), does it matter if all the content is 100% original?
as much as i like my pets, this actually makes me a little shy to showcase because of what <a href="/users/Clarice" rel="clarice"><img src="http://images.subeta.net/icons/gold.gif" border="0">Clarice</a> mentioned. i'm afraid of my pets being prone to story and character rip-offs and the like.
but just as a question, will fanpets (pets based on characters from existing fandoms) be eligible? or will the fact that their stories aren't our original work disqualify them?

Just a question, does the pet's concept need to be appropriate? I know of a few pets with appropriate treasure chests, but their names are a little eh.
Awsome idea! Not my pets will ever win. I'm still working on my pets' decriptions. They have nice, expinsive minions that match their color and some of their personalities, but... Their overall profiles are... Well, lacking to be honest. Maybe someday they'll look all purdy. Great idea though! =)

It's kind of odd how this came out right after Lurapets released the same thing, but nonetheless it's an exciting feature. ^-^

Yes--I'm so glad that the staff is putting more focus on the pets! <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> A lot of people do work really hard on their pets' personalities and backstories, and they deserve some recognition for that. TO LET EVERYONE KNOW: You can't vote if you're looking at a pets profile from a custom pet button!! It has to be from the actual pet section!
What a great idea - great to add more emphasis on pets. Personally, I love my personal profile. I didn't make it, but I am proud of it.
I don't really mind the Neopets similarity, it's a nice feature and great to have some recognition for people's work on their pets, the only problem I have is the name. It's exactly the same, which just conjures to mind neopets...I'd love to see the idea stay, but tweaking the name a little bit would make me a lot happier about this.
To those of you saying it's like Neopets, think about this...on Neopets you had to submit your pets profile, here it's being done by nominations. And once again, just because Neopets did something, doesn't mean Subeta can't, and just because Subeta suddenly decides to do something Neopets did, doesn't mean Subeta is turning into Neopets.

Pretty darned cool! This motivates me to work on my pets' profiles even more. Wonderful addition! Can't wait to see who gets nominated in the near future~

Question - would it be against the rules to put a link or something of the sort in your forum signature that says something like "Nominate Lei for the Pet spotlight" with the link his lookup? Or would be along the lines of the anti-begging rule?
