Wardrobe Skins!
We've introduced a new feature into the beta wardrobe called skins today! Basically, if you have a zombie or morostide zapper base, you can claim them in the beta wardrobe and use them any time!
That means you can have a human avatar, and switch back to being a zombie to pop into the zombie den, you can absolutely do that.
We will be able to add skins as prizes to achievements and events in the future, so keep a look out for fun new ways to change your avatar!

OH JEEZ HAHA. I had finally got the deer skin but I LITERALLY just cured myself yesterday.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Does this mean it's no longer possible to have my zapper skin layered over my zombie skin?

This is AWESOME! My HA has human type skin for the first time in years! I had deer for over a year but I accidentally zapped it last month (instead of my pet) and cured it and was having fun with my zombie skin, but now I can USE that skin again at will and I can have my own "hair" and not have to pick a wig all the time. That is great awesome and superb! Thanks for thinking this one through.
I can't wait to get the deer skin again some day now that wardrobe has this feature. Yay!

Lovely feature but it does make me a little bummed that we can't access any of our old skins that we had in the past. I know I'd love to have one of my zombie skins again other than that silly Cupcake zombie one.

Hm...somehow I love that new option, but at the same time..I was a zombie for five years and I'm used to it. Also it's a shame I can't wear my zombie skin at the same time with my zapper skin anymore, which was partial and matched my zombie skin. :/

If you spent a ton of sP and CSC to "hide" or "cover up" your Zombie/Zapper skin, that's no one's fault but your own.
I spent a ton of sP on coverups too, but you don't see me complaining about it. I mean, it's not like those items suddenly can't be used.
This was a good move for the site, I think.

I like this alot :) There are some zapper skins I would definitely use, but I didn't want to tie myself down to one skin so far. This brings up so many new possibilities -
On the other hand, I feel sorry for all the long time zombies who are going to lose their "unique look". I bet it was annoying and difficult for the most of them to carry the zombie skin over years and years... and now there will be no difference between an "old" zombie skin and a new achievement skin.

I personally think this is great, and I really hope that we can somehow earn/gain previous zombie/zapper skins also, because that would be absolutely great!

Cool, now everybody will be an easily hidden zombie and the huge amount of sP (and CSC) some long-time zombies had spent goes to nothing!

Aww, I am sad that there's probably no way to claim the old skins and bases I got in the past.
But I am curious to see what skins we will get in the future.
It's awesome I don't have to cure any skins anymore and that I can keep all all year around!

OH MY GOD!! Finally after years of covering my zombie self I can use clear skin for my avatars!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you :-*

I'm so excited for this! I've been conflicted about healing my zombie skin, but now I can finally see my normal ha skin!
I loved the feature but this is TOTALLY NOT FAIR. I literally just cured my human avatar 1 week ago from nightmare skin (and I was using it since 2013), which I love but was a bit tired of it.
Ok, now I'm sad.
Ok, now I'm sad.

It'll be fun to have skins available to switch out at any time. However, even as a new user, I'm surprised the site isn't going to refund people their old skins. Or at least a choice of ONE skin from this past halloween to make up for not even hinting at this earlier (if it was a feature that was planned for awhile, you'd think the staff would give a heads-up so that people don't get rid of their skins and cause a massive angry outbreak).
That being said, this is a positive change. You can now save skins that you come across without worrying so much about losing them forever.
After all- there could be an event or something to bring back old skins for a chance to get a couple if the site really wanted to issue some damage control for the heartbroken users that cured.

@Keith : But how is not, say, the Fantine/Skitters/Ecks plot achievements not justification that someone had the gooey blob pink cupcake skin? I can see with the other skins how you wouldn't have that information available since the achievement is just "get infected" or "keep your skin for x years", but that skin was specific to those plotlines was it not? Surely that skin could have been retroactive?
I'm neither here nor there on the whole thing because I don't really use skins - I think it's an awesome feature for people to be able to swap skins and I'll probably play with it when/if I get my hands on a few skins. I can understand the long time zombies/recent curer's pains as well. It's also frustrating that, of the 20 something skins there, users will have at max two of them ever (a zapper and zombie potentially correct?) But re-releasing would not sit well with those who worked hard and kept/earned those skins for so yeah. I'm not sure what the common happy ground is here. I'm excited to see the potential. Was just curious about that particular skin and why it was not/could not be retroactive.

Adding on to what I previously said:
I started Subeta in 2011, but that was after Survival had ended for the year, so I didn't get to be a zombie til next year, in 2012.
So, depending on when you started Subeta during the year should determine what zombie skins you could get in the loyalty box.

I hadn't bothered to try out the beta wardrobe before this announcement but i've just tried it out and needless to say I can't wait until it replaces our current wardrobe. It's fabulous!

Maybe, for those that are miffed about "curing" their zombie-ness, like Aloysius said the skins from whatever year you started subeta til now can be in the Loyalty Box.
If you started in 2009 you can get a skin from 2009-present, but only 1 per year.
That's the only way I can see this being fair to those that cured.
For example, me, I'm a 2012 zombie. So the only choices I'd have are the ones from 2012-present. I know there weren't viruses for 2013 and this year we just had the "temporary" vials, but this is the only way I can see this being fair. There are zombie skins from older years that I think are amazing, but that shouldn't mean I can get them whenever I want.

Shae - That just wouldn't be fair, even if we could look at your posts we wouldn't be able to find actual proof that you had the base, and then we'd be under the same burden for all users.
We're going to be releasing a lot of fun skins, and taking a look possibly at achievements and things like that for proof in the future for having a disease, but we dont have any plans to give back old skins right now :(

I'm a little sad that I won't be able to wear my new zapper skin over my boobitis skin - I really loved that look. But overall I think its a good change.

FINALLY. I'M SO SICK OF BEING A PINK FUZZBALL. It's curing without curing; I knew hanging onto it would pay off. :D
I'm a little confused as to people being upset that appearing to be human required so much money/layers, etc. I cured my first zombie state, and wish that I hadn't, but I kept the second. I covered my HA with Vanishing Cream and the Ghoul's Choice Liquid Latex. The latter was a bit expensive, but since I bought it years ago, the expense is nothing to me now. I haven't priced Vanishing Cream since I bought it, but it was always super-cheap when I was relatively new to the site, and it was also readily available.
I guess if you needed a darker skin tone, that would definitely be a problem, though.
The only thing that ever implied that I was still a zombie, was that I was nose-less, and depending upon the make-up I was wearing, sometimes eyebrow-less. I guess I never took it that seriously? The missing facial features were a little annoying, but not so bad that I'd actually be upset over it.
I do feel badly for anyone who went to great expense to fix the look, but it seems like maybe no one told them of less expensive fixes...or the eyebrows and nose were a bigger deal (or skin tone, which is more understandable, although the Ghoul's Choice Liquid Latex takes care of that with a few missing spots).
Anyway, I'm thankful for the change, regardless of the fact that I no longer need the GCLL, and will not be able to sell it to recoup the expense. It will just go in my gallery, or stay in my Wardrobe to take up a spot towards a layer/drawer achievement at some point.

Are you telling me, that after years of being a zombie with oddly shaped eyes.. I can actually have a human avatar again and start out fresh? WITHOUT HAVING TO GIVE UP THE ZOMBIE DEN?!

It kinda pisses me off that it's not retroactive, but I don't know why I even hoped it would be. Nothing ever is. Meh. I guess it's good that I'm not into Subeta as much as I used to be.
I'll start on a positive note: this change is a wonderful one that allows full use of a pretty huge part of the site (wardrobe). I am glad to see that the foolish idea of "never" about anythingbon the site has also been reevaluated and found to be less than stellar of a way of thinking. "Never" is far too limiting for a site that needs to grow and adapt over time.
Now for my not so positive feedback: I quite literally just cured my zombie last month after holding onto it, working around it and at times hating it because of all the layers I had to use just to come kibda sorta close to looking human...and NOW suddenly the option is there to bobble back and forth between human and zombie with no penalty?!?!? BULLSHIT!! I was told over and over and over and over and over and over that I just needed to suck it up and deal with the hassle of being a zombie if I wanted to continue to have access to all the years items at Skitters (except the first because I cured Love Bug after the first year, then got the skin rash one the 2nd year) and later on, access to the Alchemist. After spending thousands of dollars on CWs (not an exaggeration, I've done the math) and finding myself getting more and more frustrated by working around my zombieness, my husband finally offered to take care of any zombie related items I needed (he still has Butterfly Bruise) so I could enjoy my wardrobe and my investment in that wardrobe completely. So I cured thinking it was my only option....you know, since that's what I had been told for 5 years straight. So yeah...I'm kind of pissed off that I felt pushed into a corner when it came to the wardrobe and cured, causing me to no longer have access to my zombie skin or any zombie perks, only to have this news come out a few weeks later and be told "sorry. We can't make it retroactive". I'm talking less than a month ago I cured. I believe it was right before Halloween. I posted about it on our cult chit chat board and changed my status to "human again" because I was excited to be able to utilize my entire wardrobe and all layers without worrying about cover-ups and buying extra layers. If I had known I would have the ability to do so within a couple weeks...I NEVER would have cured! I don't want to have to bug my husband every time I want something zombie related and I had become attached to my zombie skin after all these years. It was a love/hate kind of attachment...but I struggled with the choice to cure because I hated losing that skin forever. I want my zombie skin to be available to me! I don't think that after 5 years of me sticking with it that is too much to ask.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, but what happens to the limb replacements we purchased? Do they just disappear? o.o

Ahh, this is wonderful! I've longed to be human again, but I'm unwilling to let go of my zombie advantages and I'm quite fond of my deer skin. This is perfect. Can't wait to try this out!

Oh-em-gee this means I can cure finally? XD Do you think there will be rewards later for still being a legit zombie over a cured one with a skin?

This is a great idea, but I'm worried if all of the zombie skins become available to everyone--I saw a few people mention it. It would kind of defeat the purpose of getting infected in the first place, and admittedly, it would really annoy me.
Though I am so used to dressing my HA with my skin's restrictions, I am looking forward to trying out a human one after five years :D

Very sad it isn't retroactive :( Maybe we could get one for free? looks hopeful but knows it's damn unlikely

Eh, it never bothered me to cover up and I don't think I'm going to stop now. Nice for those who might feel otherwise though.
