Would someone be kind enough to explain this rule in the image guidelines: "Your item and overlay images should both have a minimum of 3-5 layers of shading." I'm kind of old school, so shading to me means for shadows. Does it mean highlights and shadows to provide the appearance of depth, or does it mean 3-5 variations of your color spectrum? I'd like to participate, but I'm not ultra current in the world of graphic arts and coding.

@Petinho
Yes, so long as they are different items you can submit things by an artist that's submitting their own items.

Is it ok to submit comissioned items if the artist is also a Subeta user AND is also submitting their own items? Like userA submits 3 items created by userB while userB is also submitting their own 3 items? Assuming of course they're six different designs...

@Valiska You get them from beating up Nightshade. Either 5 or 10 times. And nope, I think they only come in yellow.

Darn, I got so excited because I have IDEAS. But sadly, I don't have the means or the talent to submit pieces according to the Custom Wearable requirements :(

I'm also very confused as to how you could even tie nipples in with a masquerade. Eyes and lips and stuff could be done as "makeup" or whatever but nipples? I don't think this is that kind of masked ball, personally. Unless the staff have some very big surprises in store for us this year...

Serious question: could nipples be submitted? I know Subeta is PG13 and we've had pasty/piercing items before but sometimes I don't want a doll chest

here to also say that we should get to pick 3 at the least. our opinions matter a bit more than a measles 10% :joy:

I would have loved to enter if it was a 'concept' type entry (i don't have a tablet or very good digital art talents in general, all I've got is my rudimentary hand drawn skillz), but alas i will sit out and just enjoy voting i guess ;-; Besides, I have a total of zero ideas off the top of my head (even tho I LOVE Masq! HyPE) and I don't really want to bother someone with a commission in so little time...but yay user submitted content for my fave event is still exciting!
Maybe if we got a tiny participation prize for voting, that might assuage the sting of not being able to enter the contest itself...but I'm not greedy and I'll still be voting nonetheless c:
Thanks team for the chance and good luck to all the people entering :heart:

;( so sad that I will be away until 31st without a tablet ahhhh. have been waiting for a cw themed contest since forever. but nevertheless super stoked!!
Ooh, this looks like fun! Quick question: if our designs don't win will we be able to submit them as regular CW after the contest?

@Whitemoon
They need to be digital, they're looking for fully done wearables and items that meet all the same standards that apply to any CW before it's accepted to the site.
If you're still interested, you can find the fullsize bases here:
male - female
They are always linked on this page here, for future reference!

So Masquerade is starting on the 29th or...?
And leave Adriette and her lopsided titties ALONE.

@Valiska have you tried using
?
They're not cold/angry like the snake contacts, and they're smaller and less ridiculous novelty than the cat contacts.

@Kandarhrin like almost no one is perfectly semtryical!
We all have different sizes everything. Like one of my legs is shorter than the other.
But it's just awkward looking in the art, especially with so much clevevage showing.

@Puncture well at least she's realistic, lol. I don't think I've ever met a woman with perfectly symmetrical natural breasts, my lefty is about half a cup larger than the other one, it used to be closer to a full cup till I had a growth spurt in that region in my mid twenties.

@Kandarhrin it is a bit much lololol.
But I can't stop seeing the right side bigger than the left and it looks odd.

Tbh I'm weirdly bothered by the boobs in the first place, they just seems so overly sexualised, especially with her pose. The character design feels very much like it's catering to a certain type of dude to me, like she's just there to be boobs for decoration. Meh, maybe that's just me being weird and awkward though, I know that many women are comfortable displaying their chest like that and that there is nothing wrong with it.

@Ambition I do enjoy both I suppose, but I like historical more, especially when they don't put clock parts/gears all over the items as if we couldn't tell it was steampunk otherwise!
Another thing we could use on the historical side of the divide is more hair for Cavalier/Musketeer/Romantic/Byronic/1970s male/butch/unisex avatars--styles that are longer in the back and on the sides, cover the ears, but show the eyes, with any ponytails or braids or buns or bows coming from the nape of the neck instead of the top of the head.
Currently most dudely/butch Masq hair is either spikey and long in the front and in the avatar's eyes, with shaven sides and short in the back. Or dreads. Or that short-part-down-the-middle Nikola Tesla hair with a stache you could use as a crowbar.

since it says "Atebus Revolution Masquerade," does that mean the item has to be space themed? Or is it just in general related to masquerade like steamwork and cyberpunk stuff?

"Greetings, budding Steamworks architects and Ziaran fashionistas alike!"
Which part of this contest was for the architects again? I'm not much of a fashionista. X'D

My tablet broke at the beginning of the month and I need to wait until payday to order a new one (which is typically the 29th) so have just brought the cheapest one I could find on amazon for £20 free delivery tomorrow lol Not sure I’ll be able to create anything but I wanna try and give it a go as it’s been ages since I’ve drawn a CW.
