The vibrant fester and illumis insist they don't mean to be spooky and hope that their bright colors will help them in becoming your pal, rather than making you run away from them!

You know what you need? More challengers to fight. Good luck beating Scary Chairy, Torchbearer, Noflaik, and Devora.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… to face your fears by punching them in the face. Are you ready for the first wave of Morostide challengers? Heal up and go fight!

We will be releasing four waves total, not including Roland, throughout the holiday.

Happy Morostide, my spooky pals. I just want to clarify some things for everyone.

Are you looking to get hexed more often? Try wearing the Collection of Obscene Gesture Photos. If you don’t want to get hexed, try Random ToTing. There is no chance of getting hexed when trick or treating randomly. Just a reminder, the link on the news sidebar for random trick or treating will show an error when you click, that’s just because the link is timed. Under the “The link you're trying to use has expired” bit should be a button that says “Random Trick or Treat”. Click that and bam, you are on your way to candy town!

Oh, also! As a special treat I’ve restocked the Token Shop with a few items that’ll help you during the holiday. The Hypno-Monocle decreases your chance of being hexed when choosing the house to visit, such as a friend of yours or a person on the forum using sCode. The Bag of Minion Nip will increase your chances of finding one of Jaxon’s wayward minions at the Pumpkin Patch. Make sure to be wearing these items for them to work!

The Pumpkin Patch is open for all those brave enough to enter! If you happen to find Snowflaik, send her back to Jaxon, please! As a treat, every single previous Jaxon related minion has a chance of being found.

This is the only wave of items for the Pumpkin Patch.

Are you ready to trick or treat? Visit your friends houses by their profile for one of these delicious new treats or you might get an item from last year. Be warned, not every visit will be a treat! You might just get hexed into something terrifying. In that case, we suggest throwing an egg or TP roll or two. ;)

Just a reminder, for every 5 people to trick or treat at your house, you’ll get an item as well! Use the following sCode in your forum signature or status so people can easily trick or treat at your house:

There is a link on the news sidebar for Random ToTing. This link does expire, and when that happens just hit the "Random Trick or Treat" button on the page and you should be good to go! Random Trick or Treating gives you a shorter wait time of 5 minutes during most of the holiday and 3 minutes on the last day!

Euclid has been waiting for Morostide all year to show off his four new skins. Are you feeling brave enough to step in front of the zapper?

There are three new HA borders for you to collect this holiday! You’ll stumble across the Prickly Pumpkin Patch at the Pumpkin Patch of course. Tired of being hexed when trick or treating? At least now you have a chance of getting the cool Heckin Hex border. The last border, Cavity Central, is a prize on a new tier of the Trick or Treat achievement. Some of the other Morostide-themed achievements have received new tiers for you to work towards too!

There are no new carveable pumpkins this year, though you can still carve the floating pumpkins or save them for Fantine’s Pies at Fireside.

Morostide will last until 11:59pm on October 31. The Morostide Forums will be open until November 5, so make sure you have everything settled on your threads by then!

For those who are itching to battle, the waves of spooky challengers will start soon. <3

You take a breath. Your battle with the possessed Zosi has come to an end, and concerned people soon began swarming the Commerce District. Elsie tends to Zosi’s wounds before turning and smiling slightly at you. Esther begins searching the area for signs of the spirit. You’re about to leave the Underground and get out of everyone’s way until you notice a scrap of paper flutter toward you.

It floats gently into your hand. Unfolding it, you see some kind of glittering magical handwriting that reads:

“You think you’re helping, but you are not. I break contact with each of my volunteers willingly and painlessly, so when you show up and and sic your pets on them, YOU are the one hurting them. Not me. I value each one of my volunteers, as they are contributing towards a noble goal. I am writing this against my better judgment, as you are starting to annoy me. None of this concerns you. In fact, if you knew my reasons, you’d step aside and let me continue my work unimpeded. You will understand soon. Everyone will. Those who don’t shall be destroyed alongside her. It would be a shame, but I have little patience for insolent worms.”

Somehow, the letter detects when you’ve finished reading it and bursts into magical flames before disintegrating completely. You become aware of movement in Zosi’s alchemy shop. There’s a tinkling of glass bottles and a sudden burst of light. The glow is coming from a Possessed Alembic…

We'll be taking the site down on Wednesday October 6th at 12:05AM, after the daily cron has run resetting the site for database maintenance. We're estimating that the total downtime will be four hours, but it could be longer (or shorter!)

We're going to use the time to upgrade the version on our database and get some database work in that can only happen while the site is offline.

With Keel Hauliday festivities over and still no new sign of the malevolent puppeteer, you decide to see if Esther has any info. She greets you with a slightly strained smile.

Nothing new here! Everyone has been checking in regularly, there haven’t been any reports of strange or aggressive behavior… I know this thing’s not gone for good, but it feels like we’re actually on top of this. Clearly, Noijatat was targeted because she was far from people who knew the situation. That must mean the spirit is feeling some kind of pressure.

Right now, we’ve got some people trying to figure out the clues that Mattieu gave us. There have been some theories that the things he wrote down may have been describing this entity rather than who they’re going to target. I don’t know how much I believe that, but I’m going to stay focused on preventing possessions. Maybe we can’t stop them yet, but if we can buy time until we discover an identity then… it will… be…
