We’ve brought back so many old items. Most items are discounted by 50%! The Battle, Collection, and CSC Card tabs are not discounted. Items like the Spacetime Blue Box can be found under the Bundle tab, so they actually get discounted this year! Previously they were under the Collection tab. If you don't see an item you were hoping was brought back, it might have been added to the CS Hustler instead!

Just a reminder: Any item brought back for Black Friday will also retire at the end of Black Friday.

The Pretty Ballerina Fairy Princess Costume is now the Royal Fairy Ballet Trunk. You can purchase the individual items in this trunk here. Have a copy of the trunk already? You can open it and choose to receive the male or female sets.

The Feral Accessory Trunk is back and with a few revamps! The little devil horns, goats hoofs, taurhoofs, and wildcat manes have all been revamped.

During the sale, you will have the chance to grab the special items from getting a subscription. This is a great chance to get doubles if you need any!

As we've mentioned in previous years, these are no longer included in the Black Friday sale: pet slots, pet name changes, username changes, and pet overlays.

All Boutique sets have been brought back. At the end of Black Friday, anything before Delish Sonnet will be retired.

One last thing! We will be bringing back Challenger Summoners starting in the new year each month based off their original release like Monthly Collections. So if you can’t grab everything you want during this sale, you’ll have another chance soon(ish) at them!

Bandit, Cranky Carrot, and the Cursed Effigy are back! They won’t be the only challengers to pop up this Fireside so keep an eye out. ;)

In previous years, Bandit had to be unlocked by having the sneaky thief steal the items you threw in the bonfire. This year, however, he’s available to all without trying to unlock him just like the Cranky Carrot.

Retirements for Fireside challengers will be announced with the next round of challengers.

The harvest kora can move so silently through the fallen leaves that you would never believe it was there, whereas the harvest popoko might as well have an air horn to announce its presence! Create yours now using the harvest potion!

The Veta Bonfire is open once more in celebration of this year’s harvest! Gather up Red Rreign items floating around and offer them up to the bonfire - you might come away with something special! Be careful about throwing in the wrong items though, you could end up seeing a little bit of the Red Rreign's less pleased side!

As a special treat this year, the bonfire seems to be giving out some old Fireside restockables. Magic, am I right?

The weekend of December 10th through the 12th, all custom wearables in shops will be 25% off! Shop owners, don't worry - you won't have to do anything for this, as the site will adjust the prices for you. Custom wearable sellers will still earn their original profit on CWs (not a reduced amount). It's the perfect time to stock up on CWs to gift to friends (or to yourself - we don't judge)!

Are you more interested in an older CW that you're hoping you can get your hands on? You may have your chance the following weekend! From December 19th through the 21st, the CW Pawn Shop will be open for buying! Take the time to browse all the great CWs that Jeremy has been hoarding for the past several months and get those dream pieces for your collection! Another Crystal Shop restock? What am I, made of crystals???

The human avatar system is a major part of the site; while our pets are precious, fashion and HA options have also kept people with Subeta through the evolution of the Wardrobe and features such as toggles to display limbs or not, skins to add a bit of extra flair, and saved outfits to preserve favorite combinations or try out new items.

Saved outfits in particular have been one of the most used, er, threads through several versions, and understandably so given the sheer fun of them, with 250 avatars on average saved per day and 360,000+ (and counting) total in the system. But given the amount of bandwidth, limits on how many total per user had been previously discussed; in fact, when you currently click over Outfits in the Wardrobe, there is a notification that eventually a limit of 500 saved outfits will be enforced.

There were various reasons why the timeframe on when to apply that limit was still being worked out but, with the tagging system going live, we're ready with the timeline and details.

Starting 2022 January 1st 12:01am Subeta time, the limit of 500 outfits will be put into effect. HOWEVER, your old outfits will not be deleted and you will be able to load, modify, and wear those outfits Nor will they count against your limit. So for example, If you have 520 outfits today, on January 1st, those 520 outfits are grandfathered in and you will have 0 against the limit of 500 outfits.

We understand that it's going to be an adjustment, but we also know that this is a caring and generous community that wants to look out for each other and this measure is to improve the site experience overall. This helps future Wardrobe usage and stability, reducing lag not just for avatar enthusiasts but for the fabric of the site overall. Working with twenty million rows in the database versus twenty billion makes a big difference in the amount of time and processing, and forums, quests, and battling along with general process spooling time will benefit from this.

We look forward to being able to improve existing features and delight with new ones for everyone!

Hello, everyone! It’s time to learn about how we’ll be doing Black Friday this year.

:sparkles: Black Friday this year will be November 23rd until 11:59pm on November 29th.
:sparkles: We will be bringing back all battle challenger summoners including ones from this year.
:sparkles: All monthly collections will be back for you to grab!
:sparkles: We will be bringing back all retired boutique sets as well.
:sparkles: The Morostide Makeup Case will be coming back during Black Friday, especially since we didn’t release it during Morostide.
:sparkles: Custom Wearables will have two separate things happen during early to mid-December. These will actually happen as planned this time, I swear!
:sparkles: You might just see a set or two from the Spooky Costume Trunk revamped to be a full Costume Trunk ;)
:sparkles: Chance machines will have a discount during the sale!

:exclamation: Items such as Spacetime Blue Box or Classy Boutique Bags where you open the item and get all items in a range of things (instead of choosing one or getting an item(s) randomly) will now have a new categorization tab (Bundle) so they benefit from the discount! In the past, these items would show up under “Collection” and be stuck at full price. :(
:exclamation: Remember that all items that are brought back for the sale will retire again after. In the news post announcing the sale, we will also include what sets that are currently in the Cash Shop will retire after. <3

There is a new Reward Card available to fill out! Remember that for each stamp you will earn Loyalty Points (LP) in ascending value to spend in the Loyalty Shop - stamp 1 is 1 point, stamp 2 is 2 points and so forth. Completing a card awards you 5 bonus LP, bringing the total for completing a card to 60LP.

You can fill this card up twice! You will get the same amount of points for filling out each card, so in total you have a chance of getting 120LP. You can spend these points in the Loyalty Shop.

If you’re unsure if you’re on your first or second card, check out your current level. Levels 0-10 are for the first card, 11-20 are for the second card.

Note: We will have a news post tomorrow detailing how Black Friday will work this year!

You have been checking in with Esther over the past few weeks. Morostide has come and gone without any sign of the malevolent force, yet no one truly believes the threat has passed. While you’re out for a stroll, you suddenly feel the hairs on your neck prick up. Another piece of otherworldly paper floats toward you, landing gracefully at your feet. You quickly grab it and read the message.

“It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? It was nice, being able to work without interference. I can feel your frustration. Looks like your little coalition isn’t so effective. Or perhaps you can feel that my cause is righteous? It doesn’t matter. We’re nearing the end of this excursion and soon it will all be laid bare. I hope you’ll make the right decision when the time comes.

As it is, there’s someone in Shadowglen I’d like you to go see. He’s a very recent acquaintance, but I think he’ll make a persuasive argument in my favor…”

Hello, Subeta!

Both quests and community are an essential part of this site, and Quest-A-Thons have been an exciting fusion of both components. We’ve had multiple Quest-A-Thons and you’ve risen to the challenge each time.

One of the rewards offered during a previous Quest-A-Thon, and planned as a prize during the most recent one as well, was a cosmetic of a gold border over the user icon. This was supposed to go to the top 100 questers (including ties!). However, for technical reasons (that have since been fixed and had contingencies implemented), the record of individual quests done per person failed and cannot be recovered.

The community came together, and individuals also worked hard to achieve their goal of the border. With the tools and data available, we want to make that happen! Thus the gold border is going to be given out to everyone who completed at least one quest during the Quest-A-Thon. We realize that this was planned to be more limited of an award but feel that the more complicated situation warrants the change in parameters. That change is not meant to be a habit, but it is a part of SubetaTeam’s commitment to figuring out solutions as new challenges come up.

Thank you all so much for your passion and your patience in this matter. For those who maxed out their quests, excellent work! For those who made the time for Subeta between busy schedules, we appreciate you as well. We look forward to having fun with everyone for future events and holidays.

Just a reminder that at 11:59pm on November 4 we will be retiring the various Morostide challengers. While the tail end of Morostide was disappointing for all, we are looking into ways later in the year to bring a little pumpkin spice to all. Our focus is to make sure the site can handle Black Friday and Fireside later this month and Luminaire in December.

Happy fall everyone! What a fun last few days of Morostide this year. I'm sorry for the lag and downtime while everyone was rushing to get the last few items they needed. We're placing 500CSC in every account, and the free gift will be a one week gold account medal for the next week.

Secondly, I'd love to introduce @galaxia, our new community manager! I'll let them introduce themselves in the next post, but want to take this opportunity to say how excited I and the rest of the team are. Right now we're working on documentation related to the server outages and the projects that have been left in semi-completed states, so that we can come up with a plan to get the ball rolling on progress again.

Morostide might be over but we’ve got one last treat for you. Rouland is ready to rumble at the Battle Coliseum until 11:59pm on November 4, when all the Morostide challengers leave.

Note: I considered extending the holiday itself, but it didn’t seem like we’d get the site stable enough for it to really make a difference. 2020 trick or treat items will be moved to the Carnival prize pool soon (there will be a news post when it happens).

We’ll also be giving out retired morostide restockables sometime during Luminaire via quests along with some other retired holiday items. These were never originally going out via quests during Morostide, but I thought I'd mention them here. <3
