๐ฑ The gardens have grown โ daily seeds, new blooms, and open gates
Hello, gardeners! It's Emma. I've been busy out here in Veta Lake, and the garden has changed quite a bit since you last stopped by. Pull up a stool and let me show you around.
Come see me every day
I keep the seeds myself now instead of leaving them on the Seedlings shelves, so the garden is where you'll get them.
- A daily quest. Once a day I'll offer you three seeds, sorted from Common to Showpiece. Pick whichever tier suits you, grow it in any plot, and bring me the harvest. The plant comes straight to me, and you walk away with sP and a seed packet for your trouble.
- A daily seed packet. I also bundle one packet a day, in three sizes: Garden Variety (5 seeds), Mixed Bag (4 seeds, weighted toward the middle), and Connoisseur (3 seeds, weighted toward the rare end). A bigger budget leans the odds toward rarer seeds, and you never quite know what you'll open. That's half the fun of it.
One note, since a few of you have asked: seeds have left the Seedlings shelves for good. The tools, soil, cans, and gnomes are all still in the shop. Only the seeds moved over to me, through the quest and the packet.
New seeds that surprise you
Some of the new seeds in those packets don't grow into one fixed plant. The same seed can come up a different bloom each time you plant it.
Sow a packet of Stellar Bloom Seeds and you might raise a Galactic Stellar Bloom one season and a Rubicund Stellar Bloom the next. Those are only two of the five it knows how to become. Fairy Ringlet Seeds are the same way: Fiery Fairy Ringlets today, Pink Fairy Ringlets tomorrow. Plant them more than once and see what you get.
Room to grow
You can tend up to 10 plots now. Every harvest earns garden XP, and each level you reach opens more land for you. I've got plans to make even more available in the future, so keep at it.
Pick your spot, and move it if you change your mind
When you start a garden you choose where it grows, and each place has its own character. The lake is gentle and reliable, Shadowglen's soil is dark and strangely fertile, the Omen Islands are for gardeners who like a little adventure. If you outgrow your spot, you can repot the whole garden somewhere new from your garden settings whenever you like.
Open your gate
Flip your garden public in settings and it joins the Pollinator's Hub, the directory I keep of everyone's plots. Once you're listed, a few good things happen:
- Visitors help your plants grow. Anyone who stops by gives your garden a small boost.
- Birds and bugs come calling. Little visitors flutter through public gardens now. You can't catch them out here yet, so for now they're just nice to have around.
- Show your garden on the forums. Drop `
You can wander other people's gardens, too. The Hub sorts by location and by which critters are visiting which plots today, so it's a pleasant walk even when you're not growing anything yourself.
A journal of everything you grow
Every plant you raise now gets written down in your Growth Journal. It shows the whole catalog, with the ones you've grown lit up and the ones you haven't waiting as silhouettes, and your totals up at the top. Filter by what you've grown, search by name, and watch it fill in over the seasons.
That's the tour! Come find me at the garden when you've got a moment. I always have seeds, and I'd love to see what you grow.

this looks so cool......... crossing my little rat fingers and hoping that this means an eventual aeanoid revamp sometime too ouoagh.......!!!

Been waiting for this!! When the revamped gardens first arrived I set up at Veta Lake thinking that it might be an easier place to start off, and I thought we'd probably be able to change anytime we wanted. I was sooooooo disappointed when I found out that wasn't the case so I'm especially excited that I was finally able to move my garden where I wanted it to be in the first place: Shadowglen! ^v^
Thank you so much for all of your hard work, I've really been enjoying all of the changes to the gardens and I'm excited to see more in the future. ^-^ <3
No gardener named TheSpookyJester.

o.k., sure, I know, it's only a small fee...
I believe, choosing was only working as of today. Thus I felt changing should be free once. I DID click a different location, when I first entered a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed I then landed at Veta nevertheless. I thought maybe one has to get experience levels for earning access to other locations. Others had the same problem (forum posts)

Hey, one thing, since there are so many gardens now, any plans to paginate the Hub? Since it works by activity with the most-visited gardens being pushed up, those beyond 60 have little chance to get more visitors since they aren't as visible? I've been sorting by regions to try and visit the new gardens, but in Veta Lake I think that still doesn't work all the way either.

@Lyonid yes I SUPER appreciate the little blurbs

@BoaConstrictor Nope, I don't think that was ever the intention! And when you created the plot you choose Veta (you were given options), and it's a very small fee to choose to move - but also there are no unique plants in any areas currently, so unless you really want to there isn't really a reason to move.

Cool! So is this like ... a new collection, or a way to earn sP? I have to say that all these new systems are quite exhausting to wrap your head around, but I appreciate that we can give our garden a little blurb.

Hey, Emma, I wanted to set up my garden in a different place originally, but it sent me to Veta instead. Why do you want me to pay you now for moving my garden to where it should have been from start?
Also from reading originally I understood, we could have lots in various regions simultaneously.

MarchOnOff Yes, if you have an empty slot she will give you a choice of 3 to plant in it and that is her "quest", she takes the plant when you harvest it. I'm on my 1st.

I hope the seeds that grow different plants say that in their description or are marked some how.

So the thing about birds and bugs, is that how they're going out now? Will the Bird Watching and Bug Catching NPCs be out of a job?

I'm trying to grow 1 of every plant in the journal. Right now I have 37/77 but I'm guessing more new ones will be added.

Star's Little Starslvl 3
Omen IslandsNothing thirsty here right now — everything's growing happily.
Visit garden →I would love to see a 'visit random garden' option if possible. Would be nice to just wander through instead of having to pick specific ones.

oh this is fun! I have been here almost 20 years and genuinely do not remember the garden mechanic. I hope the alerts work so I don't forget!

how about like.. dropping an actual link to the feature prominently because the only way i can see to get to it is the "growth journal" link which is incredibly unintuitive

In the visitors tab i'd love to see a link back to my visitor's own gardens so that I can help their plants as a thanks for helping mine. <3

@Bliss
You need to go to the bottom of your "garden" tab in the gardens. Emma's quests and the seeds she is selling are there. :)

It's (garden=username) yes. Just replace ( + ) with [ + ] . You can also add this to your profile, like some users did it days before this news.

OH MY GOODNESS. I'm so happy that the gardens are getting some love, and there are so many amazingly fun things that this could turn into. That public land clearing mini event was honestly one of my favorites. Those seed packets. I loved them and hope they'll return so my pet can have them in her stash.
Thanks for this!
Thanks for this!

How do we ping people to our garden from the forums??? Is it like dancing? You know..... dance=your user name in square brackets but instead it's garden=your user name????

Oh wow! I'm enjoying the interactivity of this new gardening system. Being able to visit the gardens of other users and 'plant spot' for our nature journals is so cute! I'm also excited about potential tie-ins like bug catching, bird watching and the mysterious (and perhaps even useful) new plants. Looking forward to digging in and trying everything out! :)

Oh, I love this! I'm so happy the gardens are getting a little (or a lot, actually) attention, and I really appreciate the addition of journals here and in the minion popping. Gotta complete them all is such a satisfying objective to me, haha.

Sounds exciting! I hope the alerts work :D Maybe some day if you visit a garden, an actual picture of a garden would show, with the plants planted there. And maybe players can decorate their little plot. That would be a dream.

"Birds and bugs come calling." the most important words in that whole post for me. giVE ME A BIRD GARDEN

oo i love how much thought and care went into this!! this new version looks so fun too, can't wait to try it out!

Many, many thanks for the work on the gardens. I like the new version, even when the old garden had for evry plant only 3 days until it was possible to harvest. But with the new growing period it's also interesting.
