Daily Support Goal!
I just put up a new page: the Daily Support Goal. It's the (very, very) long version of the little bar on the news page, and it's the honest account of what it costs to run Subeta in 2026 and how close to the line we actually are. If you've ever wondered how a site like this keeps the lights on, that page is me answering it. Please read it!
And to support the goals on the page, two updates went up alongside it. Cash Shop Collections has its own page now, so you can browse every monthly collection going back to 2006 and either buy the sealed set or pick the one item you want out of it. For this week only you can browse and choose from every week, when the sale is over it goes back to being just the ones released in the current month.
And Billboards got rebuilt with a banner maker, so you can design your very own drag and drop 480x90 ad right in the browser instead of uploading one. Please, make something weird and fun!

@Karasu It really took going through and tagging them all so they could be on this page, and then I did a bunch of work a few weeks ago to get all of the transformable items working in the wardrobe (they transform in the wardrobe, you only need one copy there now!) that made it easy to pop that on this page. It's all coming together!!
I'm failing to see where Keith has used the bad AI. If you read what he wrote, you'll find that he wrote the equivalent to a personal script bot that runs on THIS website's database, that pulls from THIS website's information, to generate rough copies of information based on a request. This kind of thing has been used for years, and he even is reducing any impact of the power it takes by using solar power. It's the moral equivalent of using CTRL + F in a document you wrote. Using google search the past few years is worse than what he's been doing. If you hate all instances of AI use, then that's fine, but it's been incredibly useful for science & medicine, especially in the realm of disease detection, because labs have their own models trained on proper datasets in a similar way that's being done here.
Anyway.
I'm not usually a change liker (and some cosmetic changes to some of the games aren't my fave, but I'll get used to them in favor of everything functioning better!) but I'm really stoked to see a lot of the new ones. I feel way more invested in the site than I have been the past few years, though I still tried to visit at least to do my dailies every day. I'm most excited about new warddrobe features, but there are other areas drawing me in too! I'm hoping to contribute in some way this summer <3

I just read it all and would it help if you brought back the CSCbonus weekend? I used to spend extra money there, but even without a newitem, I think we both could benefit from the bonus ❤ 💙

@AngelNyx420 We have - and I think I'm going to do a little bit more work toward that soon. We're going to change the subscriptions when I move then over from new.subeta.net to have the monthly item be a currency instead of the item (which messes up a lot), and might add 3/6 month options at the same time.

I'm not ripping you apart, I'm telling you to inform people. Your users DESERVE to know what you're requesting their support on.
Let your users decide what is appropriate for them. They deserve the opportunity to make their own choices based on information presented.
Don't hide the info in the forums or in the news comments, make it an ACTUAL news post so the most eyes will see it.
I've been on Subeta long enough to know that if you don't make this a news post, it'll get swept.
You'll earn far more of the respect you crave if you're actually shouting over this instead of whispering in the corner.

The page has a 'where the money goes' section, that outlines where the money goes. I'm not sure I can make it more clear than that, and I agree that folks have been asking for these details for a long time, which is why I'm posting this page. Lots of people get lots of value from the connection in the forums and with their friends (as you can see in these comments 🥰 🥰 🥰) and I'm showing people what it costs to run, including having someone dedicated to running the site entirely for free in their free time for 20+ years.

@feral I honestly don't think you're going to be happy with anything that I say, so for others you can look here and form your own opinion to me responding to something publicly that I've talked about a lot. I really think this situation in particular (with content related to subeta, on a subeta wiki) is different than what is being framed, but again I totally understand anyone reading it and either wanting more details or being turned off by it. I am not hiding it, and if I were I woudln't be responding publicly / responding to comments in the news.

Thank you so much for this post. I read it all and I love Subeta so much. I would love to volunteer when the time comes.
Oh I also just realized I can't see my wishlisted items on the main collections page! Only after I click into a collection does it show. Adding that feature would really help out too.
I've been considering a subscription for a small bit now(I'm still extremely new to Subeta, but I greatly enjoy it right now), but I'm one of those people that does the yearly subscriptions for game related things I am subscribed to. Have you considered making this or something similar an option? Could do 3mo, 6mo, a year alongside the monthly options currently available?
I'm SO GLAD I can actually see what's in these bundles now!!!! Daaang! Phew. What a relief for an outstanding problem this site has had.
That said, I would love to see the ability to at least preview all of the months stick around (rather than just be a thing for this little event), so I can plan my budget around it. As it is I'd about have to make an entire spreadsheet and I just don't have the energy for it.

I wouldn't really call myself an active user anymore... but I'm still happy to fork over my ten bucks every month to help keep the site running. I'm excited to see the new changes now that you've canceled Kumos, because to be totally honest man I HATED the Kumos site so much lol. Thank you for the new Collection page redesign! That will make things so much easier!

Also it has been very encouraging to see how many updates and new features are suddenly popping up. Color me excited to see new battle features in the works!

I personally really appreciate this level of transparency. Even though I don't get to play as actively as I'd like, this site has still given me so many years of entertainment that a subscription feels like the least I can do in return.

Anyway, I like seeing the breakdown and having a spotlight on it. It kind of made me feel slightly better to see it addressed because I'm embarrassed to say that I feel dread every time I see the goal not being met because this is my escape away from real life lmao. I give when I can and will continue whenever I get the chance. Thanks Keith and the rest of staff for keeping this site around for over two decades and hopefully many years to come💗

the dramatic journey of thinking you need to rebuild subeta from the ground up, then coming full circle to acceptance and updating the original with a renewed life force sounds exactly like something that would make an excellent, licensable, documentary mini series 😉

I've only been on here since 2008 and to be honest not that long ago I was wondering what in the world I would do without subeta. I'm so glad to hear that it will outlive me. Thank you Keith for keeping the lights on somehow and keeping us informed. We all have our hobbies, right? Mine are yarn and subeta. Thank you again and again. Maybe even one more time. :D

This last weeks were update after update after update, I was susprised, honest, about how much updates were being implemented, I didn't know it was because the kumos project was cancelled (WHAT?) I though it was because, in bulding kumos, a new way to upate the legacy site along the kumos one, on synergy has been found.

I love Subeta and glad I went subscription back in 2020? I think. You guys got me through the pandemic and I wanted to repay that a little.
This is all fantastic! Laying it all out like this allows us to see what's lacking and what we can do to help. It feels organised and streamlined this way! Lots to think about. I'm super hopeful the site can rise above this!!!

I stumbled over and read the entire support goal page yesterday, because I am a geek like that and love graphs and explanations of why things are, and honestly just seeing all that data together made me go back to my own finance trackings and see if I could make room to get a subscription. I really appreciate all your and the team's work in all the times up and down and would like you to know that I really enjoy all the things that happen here :)
