Nothing like blinding sarcasm in a trivia question to start yourr day with, but .. I think I got it! After breaking this thing down into tiny little pieces and putting it back together in a whole new format ... yeah, sarcasm rocks ... NOT. I'm sorry, but your answer of runes for the trivia was incorrect. --- How is that not what they're commonly known as? From what I read on Wiki, futharks was the Scandinavian term, not German.

I sure as heck hope that it's one work this time. :/ That's what threw me off the previous question. I only used the second part of the species name since she said it wasn't the genues, and in the past trivias warned if they were more then one word in length.
English isn't my first language, either, and when I first I read the trivia, my expression was something like this: @User not found: _____@.
With a bit of research, though, it turns out to be quite simple. I believe I got the answer right. =)

Don't worry, Cel, English is my first and only language and I'm having to look up what the words mean and translate a few things (into something I can understand.) And I'm still pretty lost on what the question is asking for.
Don`t get me wrong, I am not complaining cause I do love hard trivia but darn...that one is very hard for people that english is not their language!! I had to research some words that were IN the trivia to know what the heck they were asking so imagine trying to find the answer after that. After a lot of research and translation...yeah translation...I think I got it but if I don`t, it is okay cause I did try my best to find it.

Well, I don't normally post here, but I wanted to congratulate Debi on a really cool, educational trivia! I've always prided myself on having a good command of the English language - and yes, it's my native and only language - but I really learned something about the IPA while researching this trivia. It took over an hour of hunting and reading. Now, I just hope I picked the right answer!

Sweetichu, please calm down. The stuff this has people looking for is not commonly known in the english language, only if you study something very specific, which not many people just know. Almost All of us have to find it, just like you do. It's not as 'easy' as some people are saying, and I don't see anyone rubbing it in anyone's face. Here, anyone saying. Easy may just even mean they didn't have to search 4 hours though subetaDB. That's always fun <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_dead.gif border=0>
Half the fun of trivia is the research! That is, if you /can/ research it. Others are just a lucky "I saw this the other day" thing for me at least XD

Sweetichu, I am english speaking (no other languages at all) and I even had to look up every word that I didn't even know existed. I'm sure you can do the same for not being able to speak english as well.
It really wasn't that hard to find. I'm kinda stuck between two choices right now though =X -goes to check out the Handbook of the IPA- I got the last owl feather one wrong, the hell if I take any chances with this one.

once again people are rubbing it in our face how "easy" this trivia is and how quickly they found the answer...well there are some of us who's first language is NOT english and are having a bit more difficulties looking for answers..so next time when you go bragging about please be considered of some of us who are a bit disadvantaged

Marmite, there is really only one answer to this trivia; I don't think any further clarification is really needed, so if you're having doubts then I'd keep looking <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> Rereading every little bit of the question will help you figure out which answer it is. It practically jumped off of the screen once I located it ^^
